  1. The car park is free, the play park is free, the beach is free, the sea is free, the electricity from Sellafield is free, the whole world is free. Wild, windswept and unkempt, but that’s enough about your hair after an hour on the beach!!! Just go and enjoy yourselves. It won’t cost anything and you might be thrown back to when life was simple and carefree.
Disclaimer: not all the above is true!!!

  2. Beautiful beach! Clean, tidy, and well looked after. When the tide is out there are miles of vast golden sands and lots of little crabbing pools and rocky areas to shell and crab. Lovely place to walk your dogs too!
It’s one of the nicest beaches I’ve seen in England 🙂

  3. Beautiful beach. Great for families & dogs. Ice cream shop and play park for the kids nearby. It has plenty of free parking and even has toilets.

  4. Lovely beach, locals were very friendly, toilets nearby (which are free and clean!) Dogs allowed on the beach
The Isle of Man can be seen from the beach and on a clear day so can Scotland. Would recommend and would return.

  5. Seascale beach is very long but with rocks and if you want to have a walk you need to know the timetavle for the tides beacuse you can be taken away by the water . The car park next to the beach is free so you can bring you dog and enjoy the view.

Always a beautiful place to visit. I love it here on a stormy day in particular. The parking is good, the play park fun and the beach is massive.

The beach itself an amazing view, but more importantly the neighbourhood- friendliness is another level. Cant wait to go back again. You can park nearby for £5 a day -whole day 24 hours parking and, there is a mountain for hiking 🥾 and beach 🏖 nearby for you to enjoy the sunny weather.

Brief visit to begin the C2C walk. Free public toilets and a nearby cafe. Obligatory photos by the sign board, dip a toe in the water and collect a pebble to carry on to Robin Hood Bay at the end of the walk.

We stumbled across St bees by accident. Views are amazing, site is lovely and clean. We were on the beach. Certainly excellent for us.

Amazing beach, very quiet. Carpark is small but fair prices which can be done on your phone (paybyphone.co.uk) which if the machine doesn’t work is something you will end up doing.
Its not the sort of beach that has loads of people on towels everywhere, it is very popular with local dogwalkers.
Great for walking and checking out the mountains and a bit of rock climbing if your into that (which kids will enjoy doing).
Highly recommended (found out about it last year), and came back again this year.

Brilliant beach with amazing views of the mountains. It has a small carpark attached managed by the national trust and has easy access along the boardwalk.

Popular with dog walkers this is well worth a visit.

Superb dog walking beach. Fantastic views. Very clean. Car park is cash or pay online by downloading an app, which is a bit of a faf.

I love this beech. Went here all the time as a child when we went up to our caravan near Barrow. Was going to start walking my new dog here more often however you now have to pay for parking and it is expensive! The views are beautiful and it’s a peaceful place to be. Great for walking you dog, especially when the tide is out.

One of the best beaches in Cumbria, excellent open space, great for dog walks and family outings, car park has limited space but well worth a visit.

Lovely dog friendly beach. It’s absolutely huge when the tide is out, so much sand! Fascinating to see just how far in the sea comes as well. Went on a weekend mid July and it wasn’t very busy. There’s a little cafe, a children’s play area and some toilets. Car park is small but free.

Lovely area nice beach had a long walk round to the derelict lighthouse and found a secluded beach with rock pools nice walk around the man made bay and camp site with glorious views all around

For a stretch of beach with a difference this is the place to go.
A mix of sand, stones and dune like areas walking across the wide stretch when the tide is out is not just the same ole beach walking.
Great for dog walkers but just remember to pick up poos 😁
There is also a lovely small cafe run entirely by locals so check timings as the can change but great for supplying a good cuppa and slab of cake 😋

Beautiful beaches you can take your dog on as long as on a lead. It’s part sand part pebble beach.

Lovely area for relaxing and walking. You can park looking out to sea , only about 10 foot above beach.Tide comes in very quickly so beware. On longish but flat walk there is lovely secluded beach, access down a narrow, twisty, sandy slope. Not suitable for anyone that might have severe mobility issues, but there is a bench to sit on and look down on beach, enjoying views. When tide out, the boat in picture one , is out of the water and care needed when walking as very wet and sinking sand in places. I believe the tide comes in and out within an hour, so you could get caught out if not careful.

Lovely little place to park and walk along the beach with your four legged friends, I suppose you could drag your family with you if you must

Another lovely long stretch of sandy and pebbly beach that I stopped off at on my journey across the country. It was well worth visiting, I had a nice walk past a golf course, sticking to the path, and then a walk on the beach. I would say that this would be a good beach for families and children.

Not the best for sand but the views over to Scotland are worth a visit and to the west you can see the Isle of man
