  1. Valley Burger Shack was one of those places that you drive past all the time and wonder if it’s good, but you seem to never have a good opportunity to stop. Well, we finally had a chance to go and we’re so happy that we checked it out! The burger was fresh, and the popcorn chicken and mozzarella sticks were great as well. Their menu has a great variety of all your favorite comfort foods. We thought their prices were very reasonable too. The owner was working behind the counter, and he was so friendly and made an effort to provide us with quick service. They get bonus points from me because they serve Hummel hot dogs, which are my personal favorite!

  2. Stopped by on my way home and I am glad I did! Really amazing food! Owner was super super nice and friendly and greeted with a smile! Service was really quick as well! Definitely recommend this place.

  3. The best food in the valley and I can say that confidently! Always fresh, quick, and delicious! Cooked right in front of you, too. The owners really take the time to get to know the people who come in, I’ve never had a bad experience with anyone there.

  4. The Onion Rings were crunch and tasty. The Chef was upbeat and very Cool. The ATM is user friendly (all access point) and the restroom homely and well kempt Clean

  5. Tried today for the first time and have no complaints. It was clean inside and the 2 guys at the counter were friendly and helpful. So happy with the prices, too…paid less than I would have at local chain fast food places and got way more and better food with fresh toppings and rolls. Will definitely come again and recommend it to others looking for a new place. Fast service, too.

This has been my go to burger restaurant for probably 10 years now. By far the best burger I’ve ever had. This is what I like to call a “crumbly” Burger where the meat is not pressed so tightly allowing for a juicy flavorful and tender patty. Very unique take on the modern classic meal.

Their food is fresh and homemade, tasty and priced right where it should be. The fries and onion rings are absolutely delicious and the different combinations of burgers (or chicken/veggie) plus an option to make your own is just fantastic. Available outdoor seating in the heart of Newington is perfect for nice days.

If you’re looking for one of the best burger spots in the area and possibly Connecticut, this is the place for you.

Very nice and great customer service. The Mac bites are amazing with the Mac sauce. Burger was good. The sweet potato fries were super crunchy. I couldn’t finish it all so I got a box to take it home. Still was delicious warmed up the next day.

I got the Gold burger and with bacon and it was amazing. The best burger I’ve had ever. It was so juicy and the sauce was the perfect tanginess and creaminess. The pickles are insanely delicious. I couldn’t decide between the waffle fries or sweet potatoes so I did the 50/50 & that is the move. I can’t wait to go back. Seriously can not have enough about this place.

Just ate the Goldburger, it was fantastic! I also purchased the New England Dog but no room for that right now. I’m pretty sure it wont disappoint. Service was good, not an excessively long wait time, remember this isnt fast food! Plenty of seating outside and limited seating inside. I was there at lunch time and there was room to sit.

It really is that good. This might be the best Burger I’ve ever had. There’s a pretty good selection here if you are a meat lover, and a meatless option as well. Burgers are on the greasy side, but are loaded with flavor. Onion rings and fries are good also. Burgers come out pretty quickly, service is friendly, and and it’s very inexpensive. This place gets the job done with a minimum of pretentiousness or fuss. Highly recommended.

Believe it or not, you’re in New Britain at Riley’s. Decor/design inside is high class industrial. Lots of choices on the menu for hot dogs and hamburgers. Had the Classic Patty Melt. It was cooked perfectly and served hot with just the right amount of Swiss cheese, sautéed onions and the rye bread was grilled to a nice combination of crunchiness and softness. If you are looking for a top notch burger place you can’t go wrong with Riley’s. Will definitely go again.

Friendly, professional, and tasty! I have a nut allergy and by calling in my order was told that it was okay they get that all the time. She explained when written on the order all the food stays far away from the peanut oil. Actually, they mentioned just the fries are cooked in peanut oil so everything else is fine. We tried the loaded Salty balls! 😯 Lol. They were fantastic! 4 perfectly cooked potatoes small but good size order. Coated in cheese, bacon, chives, and we were given a little tub of sour cream to place on them. Omg. DELICIOUSNESS!! I loved having their Salty balls in my mouth!😋😜 Now for their meat. We tried the American classic burger and the patty melt. Thick and juicey. Tasted like a summer BBQ in the middle of winter. The American had all the basics you love. Chopped raw onion, yellow mustard, ketchup, tons of pickle chips and cheese. The patty melt made me jealous tho. As great as my burger was, the patty melt is on another level of flavor. Fresh rye bread, toasted, sautéed soft onions, a burger cooked to juicey perfection smothered in Swiss cheese so when you pull it apart the cheese gets all strings and your mouth just starts to water. We tried a side of Mac n cheese also. This was good. Definitely homemade. No kraft here! It had paprika in it which added a nice flavor. We will be back and trying more amazing menu items. Keep up the fantastic job!!

Drove an hour to get there! So very worth it!! The staff A+. Recommended the taco dog, tomato and lettuce on a dog?!?! YEP!! Delicious! Other dogs we had Mac and cheese, Delicious!! Jalapeño popper wasn’t our favorite but the patty melt on rye… yum!! And the hand cut fries, we asked for them well done amd they were perfection in a starchy potato form! The restaurant itself is beautiful! Super clean with exposed brick, old window with pull down sashes, tin square ceiling tiles… I could go on but I won’t. DO yourself a favor, GO!!

After reading the reviews I decided to stop at Riley’s. Glad I did. Great food. When it comes to hot dogs I’m a bit of a purest. I got the Classic Dog: hot dog, mustard onions and meat sauce. Excellent. The dog was a grilled Martin Rosol frank. The bun fit perfectly and was hearty and substantial. The fries are fresh and hand cut. You can tell they were never frozen. If you’re in the area, be sure to stop. It will be we worth your while.

This place is a gem! Melted cheese on the sausage and peppers burger, look at the pictures! Perfect potatoes, loaded salty balls are so flavorful and the chili cheese fries ❤️! The buffalo blue burgers balance of the spicy buffalo sauce and creamy cool blue cheese spread is amazing!

Stopped by because they were one of a few places still open. Friendly employees who didn’t have a problem talking to us & answering questions for 1st time visitors. Quality ingredients and the chef knows how to put together a good meal. Definitely will be visiting again when in the area!!! 4 stars only because they forgot the ketchup (which I also forgot to ask for) 🤷🏾‍♂️😂

I went here with my friend this past weekend and the burgers here are amazing ! They’re juicy and full of flavor. The fries here are Cajun and crisped to perfection. The servers are also really nice too! I’ve gotta come back here again. Thank you !!

Really good burger- quality ingredients. The home made pickles and coleslaw were so good. The owner is an absolute sweetheart!!!! You can tell he takes pride in his business and they’re coming up on their two year anniversary. The West Coast burger was delicious

Really good burger. Had mine rare and it came out excellent!! Friendly service.
Wish they had fountain drinks, but the cans and bottles drinks were ok. They did bring a mug with ice. Overall a good experience.

Great experience. Best burger I’ve ever had. I ordered the Hot and Spicy. You can order a special like I did or build your own. Cajun fries were perfectly cooked. Great shake selection to boot. Highly recommended if you’re in the New England area!

Not sure what I can possibly add except to chime in with more superlatives. Our group of three made the trek on a grey holiday Monday afternoon – inside seating is back! – and barely had to deal with the menu. Now, you might notice the double hamburger is $8.75, and the double cheeseburger is $4 more. That’s a lot to pay for cheese! But really, you’re paying a penalty if you don’t get cheese, because you’ll regret that choice. There are other menu items, and sure, the chicken is famous too, but first trip is a burger trip.

Burgers are thick wads of ground beef, and nothing but ground beef, steamed (apparently) continuously, as we ordered our three double cheeseburgers and not even five minutes later were staring down these monstrous Portuguese rolls, loaded with roughly a half ton of melted cheese and the usual lettuce and tomato. It’s impossible to eat cleanly, and it requires two hands (maybe the single, on a smaller roll, will allow this), and you’re going to be super greasy when it’s all over, but you’ll be a much better person for it.

The staff were busy with constant to-go orders but everything ran smoothly. Our bacon-cheese fries came without either, but a minute later way too much of both were glopped on and we were in business. Very well fried and held up to the cheese onslaught. All in all, a worthy stop in a state filled with classic burger and dog joints.

This regional staple it definitely one to try, the total burger was exquisite from bun to bun. The cheese and the toppings were exceptional and perfectly paired. Don’t judge this place based on its size it’s truly amazing.

grew up eating Teds steamed cheeseburgers, although I will admit its been a while. grabbed 2 steamed cheeseburgers yesterday 9/6/2022..Talk about not impressed.. while the bun size stayed the same, the burger size is smaller (and lost in the bun) and very dry. Also the amount of steamed cheese is alot less as well which is what i loved the most.. But the price has gone up.. Was not worth the $15 spent.. Guess its time to give K Lamays another shot.. Beyond disappointed. Ate half of 1 and the other went in the trash.. And i used 2 easily eat 2…
