I love visiting to swim in the summer. It can be crowded but it’s not hard to find your own spot by wandering up river. The water is swift further out it near the bank it’s nice and calm. I recommend wearing foot protection since the bank is very rocky and gets hot in the sun. The water is usually really clear so it’s also great to bring a snorkel and goggles.By Lisa Ferreira (a year ago)We put in to float the river here. It’s a lot of fun. You can get out at the goldfield recreation site. It’s a little more calm of a float and takes about 2.5 hours but can vary based on water flow and wind. We have also put it up river and floated down to pebble beach and it can take about 1.5 hrs depending on conditions. It has more rapids than from pebble to goldfield. But both can be a lot of fun. Go early in the morning if you want more of a family atmosphere. If you go later it’s more of a party crowd.

This is a fantastic Arizona gem. The parking lot is fairly small so on the weekends you may not get a spot. There is more than just cliff jumping you can walk up a little bit and find a serene slow moving water area. There are trails here that go for miles. It’s a short walk from the parking lot to the creek. You can fish here as well if that’s your thing. You can go for a dip near a small waterfall but not recommended if the water is cold. Extra water and bags to pick up debris along the route. It was fairly clean. Just a few cans and a stuck floating tube. Other that that, it was beautiful. Here’s a bit of locations I encounter worth marking. Not sure if I’ll go again, but please mark some memorable spots aswell for others.

By Felipe Martinez (7 months ago)What an awesome, hidden gem in Sedona! Everyone always talks about Slide Rock, but have you ever tried Grasshopper Point? Add it to your bucket list. Great for all ages, but be ready to bring water shoes and walk over some large boulders once you get close to the creek. We paid $9 for parking, if I remember correctly, and it was a quick 5 min hike down to the water. Not a bad walk at all! Everyone from Grandma and Grandpa were able to keep up with our 5 year while walking over the boulders. Lots of great shallow spots for little kids to play in the water, and deeper spots for those who want to swim or go cliff diving. Could easily spend all day here. Lots of shade down by the water and lots of spots to sit and set up for the day. A perfect, natural swimming pool in Sedona! Highly recommend and go here to beat the crowds at slide rock!By Cassandra A (7 months ago)Awesome place to go hike and stay cool. Picked blackberries too when in season. Easy parking but for those with little kids or any sort of walking issues may be a little more difficult than imagined to get to the water. Still doable just take your time over the rocks. Very cool to see. Very close to Devils hole. The hiking is moderate as well as the biking. You can session rocks in the area and access many other trails. The views of thunder mountain and surrounding areas are great.By Tony Holt (10 months ago)This is a nice stop point on the way up or down soldier pass trail or 4×4 road. I road MTB up 4×4 road and didn’t see the turn off continued to the end to road then took soldier pass trail back down. The trail clearly stops at the pools. More magical in morning light because coffee pot rock will be illuminated. Road the bike the rest of the way down on Adobe Jack trail a thrilling ride. Pools were pretty dried out in October. A whole train of 4x4s showed up shortly after I got there I am sure it was fun for them but it disrupted the quiet. Very gorgeous! Make sure you take lots of water!!!!! It’s very pretty and fresh. We saw lots of wildlife and fishes. There is a little areas with tables and there is a restroom. You have to pay a $10 deposit but it’s for keeping the area clean! Your hike can be as short or as long as you want it to be. People do swim in the ponds but it’s Cold! Nice waterfalls. Water Wheel was built in the early 1900’s but was abandoned after the gold ran out. I eloped here with my spouse back in May 2021 and it was such a wonderful experience. The beginning of the trail was easy enough that I could do it in my wedding dress, and in the past had gone (properly dressed!) and completed the back part of it even as a beginner hiker. If you aren’t afraid of the cold water, there’s good swimming here as well! There are several spots to swim and even jump into the water. This this looks like a good spot to catch crawdads as few families were crawdad fishing. The old water wheel was pretty cool to check out.By Steven L (6 months ago)This trail is not well marked and calling it’s trail is honestly pretty generous. At many points it’s just a bunch of bolders and you have to figure out where you’re supposed to go and how your supposed to get through. We actually lost the trail at some points and had to walk through the bush a little too get back. That being said, it was a beautiful hike and I enjoyed the challenge. Make sure to bring LOTS of water and wear good hiking shoes. My sister was wearing regular sneakers and she slipped on the rocks several times. Not good for anyone with mobility issues as you have to climb over bolders at points. Be prepared to get your feet wet as the trail crosses the stream several times. The first 75% of the trail has minimal shade but the last 25% is in a fantastic heavily wooded area.
I’d also recommend going on a weekday. We went on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded, we actually got the last parking spot available.By Clairee Hurley (9 months ago)

Such a beautiful, easy hike along the water. We were here first week of February 2022, low 40’s F, nice for a chilly 2 minute dip if you’re up for it like us. Has some health benefits, but be properly prepared and medically cleared. Not busy at all as you can imagine, will come back in summer to enjoy in warmer weather again. Nice place to enjoy lunch as well, pack in pack out.
Absolutely GORGEOUS. if you’re passing through this area stop at the park. You’ll be so happy you did. You have to pay to park but it’s worth it!. There were a handful of brave people who got in the water when we were there (super cold in late March). Before you get to the swimming area there are park benches to eat at, a huge grassy area (people were playing some soccer), there is a concessions store to get everything you need while at the park, including beach towels, food, sunscreen, tourist gifts, etc. There are historical cabins, normal bathrooms, etc. Wear safe shoes by the water area because it’s precarious in spots. Amazing place!!! go visit!
Get here early and prepare to have a great time. I highly recommend river shoes and be careful as the river is very slippery. We saw quite a few people take a fall on the rocks. This place is super cool though. The swimming holes are great and the slides are a blast.
Very nice place to go for a very refreshing swim. Water is nice and clear plenty of exploring to do up stream and down stream. Beware water will be cold and you will slip a little. Love that the cliff down stream is jumpable and deep enough to be safe to jump. Their will be a 30 dollar fee per vehicle or for 4 people extra if it exceeds 4 people. Overall very Nice family trip to nature.
Another nature wonder place in the AZ state. Few miles NE from Sedona. The basalt rocks just shine and send their energy and show how this young planet it is.
Be prepared and spend at least three hours hiking, walking and swimming in the fresh waters of the river.
This is a must see place in your tour to AZ.
