My family and I love this place being able to drive on to the beach means you can take all your paraphernalia with you and have it to hand. It does get busy in the summer months and there is a charge during the high season of £5 to bring your car on.
There are two areas one which allows dogs and one which doesn’t. It’s that big this doesn’t affect you in any way.
Black Rock is great in all seasons we kayak here in summer, walk the dogs in winter and just come later in the autumn to enjoy the fabulous sunsets and watch the horses early in the morning… truly a beach for all seasons… and one to make memories on x
By Emma Hingley (3 months ago)The review is on the beach only.
You can park directly on the beach here. As you pay for parking you’re provided with useful info you might want to refer to.
One side is suitable for animals, and the other for those wanting to take in dinghies, jet ski’s, etc.
Water’s clean, but the beach isn’t the best because of the previous mentioned and well needed amenities. Make of it what you will, we still had a nice few hours there.By Simon McGuirk (3 months ago)Gorgeous beach, very spacious and it was great fun driving on the sand!
£5 parking fee (cash only) that is paid on entrance but I did see a few cars park on a nearby road.
Toilets, ice cream van and lots of beach patrol vehicles who were very active.
Water was very clear, we even saw fish!
All in all a beautiful beach and great afternoon!
Visited Aug 2022.By lucy thompson (4 months ago)Black Rock Sands camping site is absolutely fantastic.
Super friendly staff, the cleanest toilets & showers I have ever seen on a campsite & a fantastic beach which has the option of dog friendly in one direction or no dogs in the other direction!
Something for everyone here, including a play area for the children & a fabulous little trailer which serves breakfast in the morning, pizza etc in the evenings.
There is also a Chinese takeaway which delivers.
This is definitely my favourite place & I can’t wait to return.By Julie Cull (5 months ago)Returned from a 1 week stay with my family including two very young children. Can’t fault the location of this site if you love the beach and we had many a happy time on the beach. However I wouldn’t recommend this site nor stay again. For the price the facilities are very basic and wardens are super super rude! Without clear reason. There is loud music until 11pm and then loud talking thereafter. Fine if you’re after a party but not with young kids. And kids on electric scooters bombing it about at over the speed that cars are permitted on the site, unsupervised. It’s a shame because if the staff were more friendly and the price reflective of what’s on offer it could be an amazing site.By Rachael Vaughan (4 months ago)

One of the best beaches I’ve visited. Huge expanse of sand is ideal for taking a walk while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding mountains and castle. The beach itself was very clean and fairly quiet in April.By Andrew Thomas (7 months ago)This probably one of most beautiful beaches in UK. Short walk from the parking. Not commercial at all. A nice golf course right next to it.By Parmeesh Bhardwaj (7 months ago)Super nice views and sandy beaches. You have to bring your own picnic. Combine it with a visit to the castle.By Edgar van de Burgt-Dekens (3 months ago)Fantsatic beach, which is very long and very wide. We went on a busy day and was easy to find a secluded spot. Dog friendly all year round with one half being dog friend during peak months, the other reserved just for the less-furry humans. During windier days the walk there can feel a bit like being sand-blasted if walking over the dunes, but settles down once you’re on the beach itself.By Beann17 _ (3 months ago)What a great beach not easy to get to but worth the walk.
Safe for kids and stretch’s a long way sea is safe to play in.By Paul Denton (4 months ago)

Excellent campsite with spotless amenities. Site is well kept and clean. Location is amazing as behind the beach sand dunes.
Prices are reasonable and site is vast so plenty of pitches to choose from.
The site does have many rabbits, especially visible at night so you will find rabbit droppings over the site. No big concern and we had small children with us.By i k (3 months ago)Absolutely spotless ground, showers, toilets. Everywhere is litter free The friendly and helpful managers Karen and Paul really are delightful, nothing is too much trouble if you need help or advice. Rules are adhered to making it a lovely campsite .Looking forward to coming back. Just a few yards to a beautiful sandy beach behind the sand doonsBy Christine Jenking (3 months ago)We arrived on Sun to our pitch (20)with electric for our tent .Having not camped for a good few years we were looking forward to a nice relaxing break situated right next to the beach. The site is currently being ran by Paul & Karen who are doing a great job.The site is in a great location. The toilets are always kept spotless by Karen while Paul sees to the general running of the site.Would highly recommend a stay here ,we will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great holiday .By Michael Lawless (4 months ago)This is a great campsite if you enjoy being close to the sea. Just a couple of sand dunes separate you from the beach. The facilities are simple, with a toilet block and shower block, but they’re a very good standard and kept clean and well maintained. The campsite offers electric hook up. Prices are very reasonable.By Gary Pearson (4 months ago)I want to live here. Fab campsite super clean facilities super friendly owners. Dog and fire pit friendly and right on one of the best beaches in Wales. What more could you ask for.By Liz Connelly (4 months ago)

Love ❤️ Criccieth beach. Serene and beautiful with mountain and castle views. There’s always plenty of space at this side of the castle. And free parking along Marine Parade. If the tide is low you will find yourself swimming with lots of seaweed but if it’s high its just right. Great for children because it’s not deep until far out. It’s a light shingle with some sand.By Moira Hill (4 months ago)Nice stretch of beach. Dogs are allowed on certain parts, restrictions apply different parts of the year (we think, we decided to go on anyway), only downside is that we couldn’t see any public toilets.By Matthew Bonham (a year ago)This is a shingle /pebble beach with railings at the road side. The beach is well below the height of the road so you have to use the steps or the ramp to access the beach. This means you can only get down at either end. The rocks create several rockpools at low tide that harbour lots of life, jellyfish are quite often swept into the beach so be careful. At high tide there is verry little beach as the sea comes right up to the sea walls. No toilets or shops on this side but the views out to sea and of the castle are fantastic.By Richard Wood (3 years ago)Nice little beach to stretch the legs on. Beautiful view of Castell Cricieth on the hill.By Carlton Kmt (a year ago)Rocky beach, but quiet, even in the summer time.By Lou Owl (BBOwl) (9 months ago)

Lovely place, but entry fee is a bit on the pricey side
Beautiful place but really expensive for what it is and the few shops opened… Free parking on-site.
How unbelievably beautiful!
Visited Aug 2022 and it rained on/off but it was still stunning!
Lots of seating, especially hidden seating with beautiful views and a couple of decent cafes, but I’d definitely take a picnic next time.
What I didn’t expected was the stunning beach, absolutely huge with lots of little coves, you could easily spend a whole day here (plus lots of shelter if needed).
Lovely gift shop, staff were pleasent, amazing scenery, a really fantastic day out.
It has been a few years since I have been to Portmerion, but it has lost none of its magic. I had the added bonus that when I was visiting the Christmas fair was on, which had an array of interesting food and craft stalls, along with some nice entertainment from some local choirs. When we needed to escape the cold we popped into the hotel at the bottom of the hill for a welcome drink. Looking forward to visiting again next year.
My favourite place in the UK, if not the world. A magical kingdom, especially when illuminated after dark. If you can afford it, stay in one of the Village properties. They are all unique.
