I’d give it 5 stars but the park definitely has some issues.
First off…$20 to park?? Never been to a state park, anywhere, where you pay that much to park!
With that being said I think at one time this park was on point. Today I feel the only part of the park that is really cared about is the “attractions” part of the park, the parts where you pay more money to see and do such as the sky ride to the top of the mountain or the mini theme park with its train ride and high priced, terrible quality food, and teen employees that could care less about your experience.
For the Nature Lovers going to the park for the outdoor features like hiking, biking, running, boating, fishing, and just being out in nature this park is beautiful but the areas we would be spending time in are lacking such as bathrooms in those areas of the park (most of the ones I saw were quite run down) or trails that could be improved upon. It seems that any money spent is thrown at the places they will make the most money.
Most state parks have a visitor center or ranger station where you can get info or stay up to date on what is open, closed, etc. Here you are on your own to figure it out. And again the only place to really ask any questions is at the attractions area and the teenage workers there, when not on their phones, have no clue about what is going on in the rest of the park.
Nature lovers you will still have a good time with all this park has to offer from the hike to the top of the mountain, to the Cherokee Trail that meanders through and around the whole park, to the beautiful kayaking in the lakes, and the campground (which was great). Just be aware that it’s not like your typical state park in a lot of ways.
The other positive that I noticed is there seems to be a trash can every 100ft (and yet people still manage to throw trash), there are lights everywhere at night, which is great for running and biking when the park is open to midnight, and there are even emergency call boxes scattered throughout the park in the event you may need one.By SeanHiggins thegoodlifeinc (6 months ago)Our first time coming by to see Stone Mountain. $20 Vehicle Entry, was well worth the drive, literally around the entire mountain. Beautiful landscape, everywhere you look. We arrived very close to dark and were thrilled to find out that they close at midnight! The Lift to the top and Gift Shop were certainly closed by the time we arrived, but we were able to navigate a well-lit sidewalk, to get a bit closer to the carving. Really pretty area, very nice folks. Absolutely worth the stop!By Kristen Hale (6 months ago)Day pass is 20$
Lift to mountain is 20$ per adult
Attractions are extra
We only did the hiking and loved how much there was to walk, we wished though they allowed dogs but they sadly don’t. They kept the trail clean and wonderfully labeled so you knew where you were at.The songbird nature trail is a cute trail for younger kids who can’t do as much hiking. There are also playgrounds for kids which looked well kept.
There is camping for tents, yurts, and trailers. Tons of benches to have picnics at.
Great size golf course though don’t know cost or how long it stays open
By Kendall Jarrett (a month ago)This park is huge! So much to do and explore. If you leave near by it’s definitely worth paying parking for a year, it’s way cheaper, because it can be pricey. Or just walk here and start exploring.
Wonderful place to disconnect. There are interesting facts and information around the park, stop and get some reading, you’ll be surprised by what you can learn.By Elizabeth Castillo (a month ago)We visited the Stone Mountain Park for the Pumpkin Festival. It was our first time visiting the park and have to say that they had excellent exhibition of pumpkin decor and lights for the night show. My daughter really had a great time at the park. She really enjoyed the Pumpkin decor and the laser show at the night. The train ride was good but they could have done something to make it exciting. The views from top of the stone mountain were breathtaking and we were able to enjoy the sunset. I’d say it’s a great place to visit during holiday season as they will have more things to do.By Vinay Patel (2 months ago)

It was a fun experience. The guides were really cheerful and the tour included a wonderful 3D video and another heart touching video.
There was a scent room where we could smell the scents of sweets, spices and fruits. Many coca cola artifacts were displayed very aesthetically throughout the place. The best was the unlimited tasting of different coca cola products. I think there were around 100 flavours around the world but unfortunately it was too much for me to taste on the same day.
The experience was totally worth the money and I highly recommend you to visit World of Coca Cola at least once.By Lawan Wijayasooriya (a month ago)Fun experience. Right next to the Georgia Aquarium. A very fun walking tour. It was like a museum walking tour or the history of Coca Cola. Plenty of cool stuff to see. Vintage ad signs, vending machines, signs, and so much more. Take your time and read the walls in each exhibit, the history is really interesting. The scent room was interesting. The tasting room was fun. Trying all the different Coca Cola products from around the world was very cool. They even had Mezzo Mix, which I used to drink all the time when I lived in Germany. The gift shop was amazing, so many cool things to buy. Highly recommend if you have 2+ hours to kill in downtown Atlanta.By Derek TA (2 months ago)A memorable experience like no other! We were guided each step of the way by friendly, knowledgeable staff members. You get a better understanding of the history of Coca Cola, which is presented in an entertaining way! Definitely worth your time and money.By Jenette Arreola (a year ago)This was a fun experience. Tons of memorabilia! I recommend buying tickets in advance. We were greeted with a very enthusiastic staff and treated to a little trivia before the move. The movie is a short feel good film to get your emotions running before they tantalize all of your senses in the exhibits. The exhibits are mostly relics and information. There is some interactivity sprinkled in, but the most interactivity is in the aroma room and the fountain room. I also suggest to bring some tums with you. Tasting all the different sodas from all over the world was as bloating as it was delicious and fun. Gift shop actually had some sales.By Wes W (a month ago)Had an Amazing experience here. From the very beginning we were guided , provided with lots of background details about the origin and its worldwide influence. The scent discovery and tasting part was a real hit. You can discover a large variety of Coca Cola flavors there. Didn’t have an idea prior to this trip that these flavors of coca cola do exist. Enjoyed every moment inside the museum. You can get a lot of souvenir options. They keep some awesome collection of lip smackers.By Gargee Chowdhury (11 months ago)

This is must see! Love Love Love!!! Beautiful walk on a very creative trail between boulders, over bridges, above bluffs and waterfalls, crisscrossing in imaginative ways. The overlook view of the valley below is breathtaking. Right to left you can see almost 180 degrees. You really can see 7 states. The walk is worth the time and visit. It is a great family adventure, with the walk ending in Fairyland Caverns. The park is not without gift shops and restaurants. One thing that’s good to know about this place is that if you take your time exploring this place, any amount of crowd will pass you by and you will have a moment or two to yourself to take it all in. And the mother goose/fairy gardens is worth seeing even as an adult, it’s fun to take a trip down memory lane to your childhood. More importantly, you escape the heat because it’s air conditioned!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a good view, likes a little adventure and is able to maneuver stairs, ramps and bridges and maybe a surprise or two.By Virginia Norford (3 months ago)Beautiful walk on a very creative trail between boulders, over bridges, above bluffs and waterfalls, crisscrossing in imaginative ways. Handicap access is limited to a small percentage of the park area, but access is available to the overlook. The park Vista is different each season of the year. I took hundreds of photos but Google only allows 50. Be sure to carry your camera.By Larry Henry (9 months ago)Amazing experience amidst a peaceful and magical landscape all leading to some fabulous views from the top of Lookout Mountain. Parking is free and plentiful and the entry process was easy. There is actually a Starbucks across the street. So many neat little treasures and spaces to find along the walk with easy paths and bridges and great sights around every corner. Kids will love this, especially Fairyland at the end. There is a great cafe and some relaxing seating and benches throughout. Would definitely visit again.By David Frattare (5 months ago)I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place before!
We just went on a coworkers recommendation since we discussed my family loves hiking trails and Rock City did NOT disappoint. It was beautiful with spectacular scenery and great for fall colors. I bet it looks just as lovely in the spring when things are blooming.Kinda felt like a *teeny* tiny version of a canyon at times.
Bring water, comfy walking/climbing shoes, and buy tickets in advance! We signed up for the 10:15 time and were able to walk in within minutes upon arrival. When we left at about 1-1:30 though, there was a HUGE long line to get in as people waited for their assigned times.
We’ll definitely be back again.By Rebe Beki (3 months ago)This is a stop you have to make! The gardens are very beautiful and the sights are second to none. the best around. Stop at cafe 7 for adult drink samples and food. Plenty of shade to get out of the sun. They have a great history, which you can learn about through your trip. Accessibility is limited though. They have an accessible path to the scenic overlook and to view the seven states. There are activities along its path to make it entertaining but it’s nothing like the actual trail. If you are in the area you have to SEE ROCK CITY. Great commercial right? Again the main path is not handicap accessible so keep that in mind if you make plans to go here. That being said, if you plan to visit, plan to spend a good 2hrs looking around and taking it all in, especially if it’s your first visit. You won’t be disappointed with your visit. Parking was an easy walk to the entrance and was not crowded as we visited on a weekday. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a good view, likes a little adventure and is able to maneuver stairs, ramps and bridges and maybe a surprise or two. There are some bypass paths on the main path if desired.By Mark Heinowski (3 months ago)

The husband and I went tonight and it was absolutely amazing, we loved everything about it! Even tho the temperature was low and they didn’t allow my outside coffee into the garden, we still had a fabulous time! There are clean bathrooms throughout the entire garden, plenty of place to sit and simply enjoy the scenery, tonight there was a strings band playing live beautiful music, there were lights everywhere once it got dark enough, even the other guess were so very sweet to us!! We will definitely be back whenever we come back to the area for work! The water at the goddess wasn’t on which was unfortunate but it was still extremely beautiful! We recommend this beautiful garden for anyone wanting a stroll through nature, date night for any couple, an outing for the kids! There was a bride and groom there tonight taking pictures because it is that beautiful!! Enjoy!By Prudence Starling (3 months ago)Actually a pleasantly nice botanical garden. The sculptures of origami were starting to go up for the official display in summer 2022 and they looked fun. During the week when I went, the grounds were well kept and taken care of. It wasn’t too crowded. There was lots of construction going on, but it was hidden pretty well and the parts that were open were maintained nicely. The flowering plants were on full display while the bushes were neatly trimmed.
The Cafe had standard sandwiches and burgers which were tasty. Good cheese board and appetizers.
By Nick Vergunst (8 months ago)We went to the garden to see a new art installation by artists we met at our B&B. We were so impressed with this garden. Tickets for two adults run $50, but you can get a membership for $105. The membership gets you access to 345 other gardens across the country in addition to discounts in the gift shop, restaurant, and a few other perks. Definitely worth it!We walked through for 90 minutes and didn’t see everything thoroughly. We could definitely stay much longer if we sit, relax, meditate, etc.
I appreciate their investment in art. This display, Origami in the Garden, will be there for 6 months (starting May 2022). The artists are from Santa Fe and are a fabulous couple.
I will always stop by the garden now when traveling to Atlanta. It is inside of Piedmont Park in midtown and the surrounding area is great and very walkable.
By Kim N (8 months ago)This was an amazing lights display. There were lots of people, but it was great being able to just walk through at your leisure and enjoy the displays without having to worry about cars or holding people back.
The best area, in our opinion, was the music and light sync up were the strands of lights were individual synced to the music. Each light was individually synced up. It was amazing.
For those that missed it this year or if you made it and decide to go back next year something I would recommend, if you’re able, is avoid the on site parking. Look for a parking deck nearby and park there then walk to the gardens. We walked past the line of cars waiting to get in. So much easier.By John Maddalena (a year ago)The gardens here are beautiful with lots of areas to explore. There are gorgeous art pieces throughout the garden and there’s a nice restaurant that serves great refreshments, including adult beverages. There is even a children’s garden with a splash pad and a water painting area. They do offer manual and electric wheelchairs, but do not offer strollers.
Overall, it was very fun experience and would definitely return to experience it again.By Coye Daffner (6 months ago)

Although Georgia is a large state with many amazing places to visit, these 12 locations stand out as the best according to traveler ratings and reviews. Did your favorite spot make the cut? Let us know in the comments above!
We had an absolutely amazing time when we visited last month, if this is on your itinerary at least budget 4 hours to fully enjoy all the exhibits, activities, and shows the aquarium has to offer. Definitely highly recommend coming as close as you can to opening so you can enjoy the mostly empty aquarium. The staff are all so informative and love to chat. When we come back we are looking forward to a behind the scenes tour.
Will be coming back! I’m so impressed with the size of this aquarium, it was very easy to walk through, all sections set up easy to navigate. The dolphin show was great. The whale sharks were so impressive. I saw some people doing the shark dive, it looked like so much fun. Plenty of seating in the different exhibits, we sat and watched the fish and the sharks for quite a while. The gift shop had a lot of items to pick from.
I just love it. …
I think its a two story building and there are lots lounge chairs, tables&chairs, bathrooms too. … Huge space to walk and wheelchair friendly.
All the Aquariums are wonderful and amazing. …
From time to time there will be informative information about the featured fishes or animals. …
The only thing is par is the food. It’s just okay but they have a cup for unlimited refill. To hydrate while walking around the Aquariums.
The price is on the expensive side but totally worth it. …
Service is good. …
We had a fun filled day. …
Beautiful place to visit. I liked the tunnel where people walk and you can see all the fish, sharks, whales and other creatures swimming next to and above you, it’s amazing!!! But if you really want to enjoy the visit to this aquarium, you must buy tickets to see the different shows they offer. Without seeing the shows, the visit won’t be worthy. They always take a picture of you right before the entrance so be ready with a nice outfit so you will look good on the photo that will become one of your best memories!!! Highly recommended!!
It’s a great aquarium but some exhibits were empty and I didn’t get to experience the ‘extras’ 3D and dolphin shows specifically. They do have cool pop-in holes where you can take pictures and it looks like your in there with the animals. The location is great! It’s across the street from Olympic Park and walking distance to several other must see attractions. There is food available inside and they take a pic of you entering and you can buy it if you’d like. Great for the kids and couples!!!
