A very well-staffed park. Excellent signage to direct you on where to go. We only took the Red Trail to see the Mill Ruins on a quick visit, but I do recommend that one for beginner hikers! The path is nicely packed and wide for comfort without much of a grade. I was a little disappointed in all the fencing around the ruins keeping you from getting a closer look, but I totally understand the purpose of it being there. The water was lovely and calming also. I would recommend this spot for a nice, relaxing afternoon in nature.By Toni King (3 months ago)This park is so great. Mill ruin is pretty. The creek is so beautiful with so many rocks on its surface, you can hop on some of those. There is visitor center with a small museum displaying history of that place. You can see alot of taxidermy animals typically found in the area. Gift shop sells souvenirs like rocks, books, decoration, even plush animals. Surrounded by beautiful lake trees and beautiful ducks floating in the water. Place to fish and also put small paddle boats, had a lovely experience. There also a charge it enter someone at the booth to collect the fee or you can put the fee in the box. A perfect distance for toddlers and the beach area was fun for them to play in!
This park is dog friendly. With dogs all having been on leashes.
There is a nice visitors center with a little museum with pachyderms. There are bathrooms with composting toilets! So, do not be alarmed!
Of note, there is a police firing range on the land. So, if hearing gun fire will give you a start or make you uncomfortable, perhaps choose to not come to this park!
There is a $5 CASH entry fee! There is an attendant who takes the funds at the entrance just before parking.

What an absolutely beautiful park. We spent two days at the park, walking trails and enjoying the sights and water, and we still didn’t get the opportunity to see everything. But what we did see was stunning!
There are miles of trails you can hike. Some are located on the north side and some on the south side of the gorge. Additionally, you can cross the gorge via the suspension bridge, and even go to the bottom of the gorge. That said, we didn’t go to the bottom – it’s only 100 passes a day, though they are free – but I imagine it’s awesome. And we are hoping to do that ourselves next visit. I highly, highly recommend you been in decent to good shape if you plan to go to the bottom because there are a lot of steps (over 1000 total down and back up) that you must climb to do so. We opted to go down to the suspension bridge and back up and it was quite a work out on its own.
There are few sections of trail, including the gorge bottom, that require a pass. It appears they are all free passes, but they only hand out a certain amount per day. For example, we also hiked up to Inspiration Point which was a decent trek, but to go beyond it a pass is required. Honestly, we didn’t even hike every trail that didn’t require passes, there is plenty to see without. But I think it’s important to keep in mind if planning a visit.
We loved this park, and we already plan to go back in a few years (we want to see other parks too though in the meantime). The park is wonderful, and every view from the outlook points are simply gorgeous!

The only downfall was that we couldn’t go down to the gorge floor because we had our dog with us and dogs are not allowed or children under the age of eight. We still got to go pretty close to the bottom and we had so many amazing views.By Sarah Stoehr (8 months ago)Tallulah Gorge State Park is such a beautiful park. The views are just phenomenal. There is a very nice gift shop and information center, with lots of gifts and souveniers. There’s also a small museum to learn about the history of the gorge and the wildlife in the area. There are a LOT of stairs though. You are able to see a good bit of the gorge without going down any stairs, but to continue going and to see the upper and lower parts, you have to do the stairs. I’ve hiked down and out with a child backpack carrier, and now, my children are big enough that they’ve hiked it themselves. We think the campground is great! The host is friendly and helpful! The interpretive center is very cool as well. They’ve got a cool shop as well as an awesome, even if small’ish, museum. The rim trails are pretty easy with great views, and if you’re feeling really good, you can hike the rim to rim loop. The swinging bridge is very fun for kids! No matter your reason for coming to the park, I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed!By Cody Dyer (6 months ago)Went to Tallulah Gorge at the end of October to get a permit to hike the floor of the gorge. They only give out 100 permits per day to hike the floor. I will say it is definitely an experience to cross off your bucket list. Hiking the floor of the gorge is for more experienced hikers. At least half of the hike was scaling rock and then bouldering up a the side of the mountain. There are two river crossings and depending on where you cross you could be almost waist deep or even fall in the river.It’s worth the trip to the floor of the gorge, but it is not for the faint of heart.

Great place to chill with your family. I went on a Monday and it was perfect. Not too many people. The staff said that on the weekends it gets crazy packed. The staff was friendly and respectful. It’s not a completely natural spring water because the water smells of faint chlorine. Which is most likely needed due to the fact that the bottom of the swimming area is all concrete. This little waterfalls is beautiful and so worth it.
There is a very short distance between the parking lot and this waterfalls, so don’t go there preparing for a hike. There is private property on both sides of the path that are marked by signs and fences. However, if you’re on the look out for a quaint little park with an adorable tiny waterfall, this place is your spot! With ample parking and well lit signs, this gem of a park was easy to find. There’s only one way in and out which is convenient. As you make your way into the park you hike downhill gently and are surrounded by beautiful foliage and the sounds of undisturbed nature. It’s a short walk and when you land at the bottom and look up, you’ll see the falls. (If we’re being honest it’s more like one garden hose stream falling from some rocks). There is a Cemetery before you get to the water falls.
I have a small pup and I didn’t feel comfortable letting her down to walk. This isn’t a good place to take your smaller dog. The walking trail there is so rocky and just dirt.. I seen a bigger dog go down the steep dark walking trail. If there is a NEXT time I will leave my dog. And go with the Hubby. I really wanted to see the Water fall. Unfortunately I didn’t get to it.By A’Kiyia Kelly (KIYIA) (6 months ago)This place is awesome, yeah it’s not a the biggest but it’s beautiful, and for those who say there’s no where to hike, it’s just a little area with a few picnic tables where you can enjoy the falls and get in the water, than I have to say those people obviously weren’t trying to hike, cause there’s plenty of places to hike and explore on the top side of the falls on either side of the creek, not to mention some incredible views looking down from the water fall, they may say the top is prohibited, but I can assure you I’ve been going up there for years and still do so to this day, and not one time has anyone said I can’t be up there, there’s many people that go up there sometimes more people on the top side than on the bottom side, they just don’t want to get sued so they say that, but I’ll go by myself and be the only there, it’s not dangerous it could be for toddlers to walk up the hill, but as long as you’re not trying to swan dive off the cliff face into the water than, you’ll be ok just fine, if you do want to jump off into a maybe 3-4 for pool of water that’s got many rocks on it, than obviously the world would be better with out that person, cause that person used no logic or comment sense, may seem harsh, but it’s the truth, but there’s nothing dangerous up there just be careful, keep true to your surroundings and don’t walk to the edge holding a selfistick, I promise this place is a true definition of big things come in small packagesBy Corey Canales (11 months ago)Awesome spot to visit. Those who’re complaining need to understand that:1) It’s outdoors

Beautiful falls with beautiful views around. Hiking is fun here and there are steps that you can take to go top of the falls. My 2year old kid did climbed easily 425 steps. There is plenty of space for picnic and spent valuable time there. All aside weather was just right. Overall it was a fabulous experience.
Absolutely breath taking. We chose to start the trail at the top and use the 425 steps one way down to the falls. It was fun and memorable for our crew. We had 4 kiddos with us from ages 4-11 and they were all able to complete the stairs on their own. The falls are beautiful and worth the hike. We are not sure what the trail is like coming from the base of the falls. The views of the Blue Ridge mountains at the top of the falls was amazing! Definitely recommend this natural wonder of Georgia. It should be must do.
Took my kid here for zip lining and hiking for her birthday. It’s a beautiful place. Not many food options, so you have to eat at the lodge or bring your own. We had a wonderful time. I’d recommend it to everyone!
Loved this little side trip. Quick, easy, tree shaded path to the falls. Hearing the sound of the waterfall along the path was so enjoyable. It’s beautiful on either side of the bridge over the waterfall. Great place to take pictures! Check out our!

Definitely a must visit waterfall in Georgia. You can skip the leg day 😅 and have an adventurous trip to this place. The entry fee is $5 and you can either park at the lower falls area where you can even do fishing or you can park at the upper falls and take the stairs down. There are 425+ steps, so it can be strenuous for elderly people.
You can also go straight up to the lodge where you can enjoy an amazing view sitting at the fire place or have some good food. We also did the zip lining there for which you can book the tickets online. It’s around $30 for level 1 which takes about an hour and they have 3 different levels to choose from. A fun experience overall !
