Beautiful memorial. The trip up the tower is totally worth it. It’s a tight ride on the way up, with a few extra steps (about 1 flight), but the view is gorgeous. The views of the skyline are almost as good from the base of the tower, too. Would love to go back to go through the museums when we have more time. Yes, simply Amazing place to get some evening walk with beautiful view of Kansas City and Amazing sunset. This is a historical place and wonderful art work done in the memories of world war I veterans. I believe this is one of the best places to visit in US and I highly recommend to everyone. I didn’t get chance to go in but I will do it soon. I can’t wait to go up in that monument tower and get a wonderful views from the top.By Gajen Jan (5 months ago)A must-see in Kansas City, the National WW1 Museum and Monument is a beautiful, informative, well-maintained national landmark dedicated to a war that has largely been forgotten about by the American public despite its huge influence in shaping the world we live in today. Anytime someone comes and visits me, I bring them here and all of them have said it’s incredible. Tickets are very reasonably priced at $18 per adult or $20 if you buy a combo ticket to go up in the tower (which you should, the view is amazing). While the museum and its associated exhibits cost money and are open from 10-5, the actual memorial and its surrounding grounds are completely free to explore by the public and open at night too. Pro tip: If you have the time, I highly recommend making a second trip to the memorial after sundown as you can treat yourself to the best view of the city skyline while it’s all lit up at nightBy James Ellison (3 months ago)This is a large museum with wonderful architecture. The rooms are easy to get lost in, in the fun, adventurous way.
The Reflection rooms have a wonderful atmosphere— a soundproof box to let yourself by fully immersed in the music and the stories told.
Enjoy a presentation into the mind of the soldiers on the battle fronts, as you look down to see them trek onward.
Full of real relics of the time, it could make a great school trip or scavenger hunt.
A wonderful place, worth visiting whether you live in Kansas City, or are passing through to elsewhere.

From the memorial ground you can see the Kansas City skyline (a very nice view when it is not cloudy). The museum itself is informational and the staff members were friendly and helpful. Fun place with allot to explore. Good sized children’s garden playground and maze. Great for learning.
Awesome bird watching areas and plenty of beaches. We came in the winter but I can imagine it is beautiful when everything is greener and full of color.
Would love to come back in the summer.

I didn’t go into the children’s area. Their displays with the ocean junk while very creative, it’s sad to know all that stuff ends up in the ocean instead if being recycled… They staff was super friendly and getting the gardens ready for Christmas. We are visiting from out of town and a coworker recommended the Illumination! Glad he did! It was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The only downfall was that we ate supper before we went and just couldn’t enjoy the food carts or the outside bar with the fireplace, darn! Great Job! We can’t wait until next year and we will come hungry! Another side note, Everyone in Wichita was so nice and when we were stopped and taking photos of one of the displays, one of the employees stopped and explained who made it and how it was done, cool! Their Illuminations walking Christmas light tour in Winter is my daughter’s favorite! Visit in Spring to see the beauty of a land opening up and putting on fresh colors. Visit in summer for the lush greenery that seems to perfect to be real. Visit in fall to enjoy the colors of autumn. Honestly my photos don’t do it justice, you’ll have to visit to experience it for yourself.By Natalee Armfield (3 months ago)The Botanica was a great place to visit.Not only were the gardens beautiful with all the flowers but as of the time of this post they had some pretty cool sculptures around the gardens that were crafted from trash that was collected by volunteers and then turned into these unique art pieces.
This place is worth a visit if you are visiting the area.

Wow! What a gem of a place. Kudos to the exhibit creators. Children of all ages & adults alike will find something amazing and interesting to see and learn about. Many reviews say 2 hours is enough – but you can easily spend 4+ hours, especially if you purchase a combo pass to include the planetarium.
There were so many learning stations, sky bike, small animal exhibit, painting area, sand area, etc. I would highly recommend!
We had 4 kids ages 5, 6, 7, & 10 with us and they all agreed this was a 5 star experience!

It was a fun time, it’s similar to Wonderscope but obviously has science incorporated into the activities/exhibits. I probably wouldn’t bring a kid under 2 unless you had other kids with you, my almost 3 year old had fun though. Probably most fun for 4-10 years old. Could easily spend 3 hours here if you want to see everything. Close to crown center which is nice so you can make a day of it. If you park at crown center and don’t mind walking a little you can park for free (3 hrs free with validation slip, 6 hrs free if you spend $25 and get a slip from guest services), otherwise the union station garage does cost a little.By Arica Gaines (5 months ago)Super awesome place! It was really neat to go outside and play as well.By Katlyn B (11 months ago)We’ve had a family pass to Science City off and on for the past few years, it’s generally a pretty decent way to spend a Saturday afternoon out and about without worrying too much about the weather. The people there are generally pretty helpful and friendly, though really you’re pretty much left to your own devices here.The things to be done don’t change all that often, so as an adult one would tend to get bored here, but the kids have a good time. Union Station is pretty, but once again, once you’ve seen it….well, you’ve seen it.
I can’t say that I’d recommend eating here, it’s expensive and I’ve never heard great things about the service.

I’ve been here a couple times and the interactive exhibits are great fun to play with, even for adults. This is definitely not your typical look and read museum. Almost all of the exhibits in here are engaging in some way. The flight simulator however was hands down my favorite thing in the museum. I probably spent a little too much time at that particular exhibit. Great place to come with kids or to awaken your inner child with friends.By Aliza Brown (6 months ago)Exploration place is a wonderful place for kids with lots to do regardless of the child’s age. We brought a 9 month old and two year old and both children were entertained. There is a section for ages five and under that kept both children busy for at least an hour. There was a castle section with a castle to explore, a knight, and fake animals to sit on. The two year old really enjoyed exploring that. There was also a section that explored possible careers as well. It had a medical helicopter that was the two year old absolutely loved. All in all we enjoyed the experience. The kids fell asleep as soon as we got back to the car. The kids were super stir crazy and needed some hands-on things to do.
The price is alright but it was worth getting my kids out of the house.
There are different sections for aerospace, hands-on trinkets, an area for what it’s like as an astronaut, and more. The best zoo in the world in my opinion! Especially if you like tropical birds. They have a walk-in aviary with lots of beautiful, healthy pigeon/dove species and other birds from around the world. Some of them are very used to people and you can get great close-up photos of them. The other animals were cool to see too. You had your typical lions, tigers, and bears there plus some fun others like penguins and river hogs. Go there in the winter on a Wednesday and admission is dirt cheap!
The exhibits were done well, and there were lots of animals to see up close! The whole zoo was laid out nicely and easy to walk. There were a lot of unique features that I haven’t seen at other zoos, and I left very impressed!
I’m from Northern Kentucky and I frequent the Cincinnati Zoo and I have to compare this zoo to them. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the zoo and the variety of animals in the zoo overall. While it does not have as many animals you still have a very good representation of the continental areas they are covering. The biggest plus with this zoo is the amount of open space between exhibits and the help offered by the staff. They are very pleasant to deal with and helpful. I would definitely visit again when back in town!
Above expectations. You can easily spend 7 hours there. Currently, South America and Australia was closed. Other than that must visit place. One of the largest zoo in the country. Lots of animals. $22 per adult and $4 for feeding giraffe or touching stingray.
Very fun experience! There were so many different animals to see and interact with. We got to feed birds, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and lemurs! Plus there were many other exhibits with many interesting animals! Great for kids and adults! Me and my wife loved it 🙂
