Great place to enjoy your 4×4 and fish. Spend a night around bonfire with friends. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset 🌅 just get some sprays from flies, they bite hard! There is a refreshment Cafe, bathrooms, and outside showers to rinse off sand. There is steps to the beach along with a ramp as well. Beach wheelchairs are available. The sand is not compacted like Bethany Beach. Beach chairs are able to be rented for $5 and and $12 for a beach umbrella; both chairs and umbrellas are well-built. Took the kids here for a fun day trip. We were not disappointed! It was a fantastic museum with great exhibits, and friendly staff. The majority of the staff members are Air Force and Navy veterans that are very knowledgeable on the aircraft and supporting equipment. You may request for a tour guide at no cost also. We loved this museum and highly recommend you take stop by for a visit. Additionally, there are free to use wheelchairs and motorized mobility scooters. Free entry, plenty of parking, lovely veteran volunteers. There were three to four planes open for a tour inside. Inside museum and outdoor airplane graveyard. Several planes that you can go in. Lots of history and one of a kinds. I am not a big Airplane guy, but it was very interesting. I have a busy 1 year old this place is great for her to run around and explore I typically go on $2 Wednesday which is the 3 rd Wednesday of the month I like the different rooms they aid in fundamentals of a child learning experience she loves the story section and the construction and just happy to have her freedom to explore. Definitely a place for all ages and they also have different hands on activities scheduled throughout the museum from arts and crafts to slime making we painted pictures our last visit. We love it here.By Branded Heart (6 months ago)Highly Recommended. Great place for kids of all ages. I went recently with my 1 year old and he played for 2hrs straight. He did not want to leave. I feel like the museum is geared towards older toddlers/kids probably 2 years of age to 10 years old. However, there was plenty my 1 year old could do. I also went a few years ago with my niece who was about 7 or 8 and she also had a blast.
The museum was clean and tidy. I liked that there weren’t too many small items/toys that could have been chokings hazards.
My only complaint is that it can be pricy since they charge for all adults in the party as well as the kids. It would be nice if they had a family admission price instead of having to pay for 2 parents and also every child. They do have a very affordable membership for families which I may consider.
By Christine DeVose-Cowans (7 months ago)We’ve been bringing our kids here for a decade. Unfortunately, it’s mostly lost it’s appeal, as it hasn’t changed in three years or more. Many of the exhibits are missing pieces or have just been removed now, without being replaced. For example, the space with the money theme has been replaced with irrelevant activities while the money-related signage remains displayed. Even the crafts they offer are now just repeating themselves so often that we’ve usually already done them, despite not coming more than monthly anymore. It’s decent for a day of run-around play indoors but, not worth renewing our membership, which is up this coming Spring.By Mommy2Malykai (a month ago)A surreal fun place for toddler and kids. The museum is split into sections of arts and crafts, box maze, physical activities, marketplace, engineering and train, and household. There’s a giant hydro station in the middle area.It is $10 for each adult and kid. Passes are good for all day. They have membership offers too So families can take lunch/meal breaks and later continue with their museum tour. Our toddler had spent about six hours and still wanted to continue.
Really a great place to have fun, learning and family bonding.

He couldn’t reach the water table and some of the rooms were too advanced for his age but there was still plenty to do and he had a blast. Beautiful state park that majority of Delawareans do not even know existed. I haven’t been here in nearly 10 years, and I’m so glad that it looks the exact same as I remembered. Still clean, well maintained, and not overly crowded. I have lived in Delaware 30 years and even though I knew it existed I never been here until just this month, day trip. First of all parking is not expensive if you live in the state. Might be few dollars more if you are from another state. The map of the park is little difficult to understand. Had to ask people which direction was the Fort Miles museum. The Cannons and military truck was neat. Not much to see in museum as thought there would be. The observation tower was closed so could not go inside. After this we headed to other side of park and went in nature center. That was like a mini aquarium with a hands on experience too. Kids liked it. Then we went to the beach area I guess there are a few entrances to the beach but we took one closest to light house in distance. The sand ramp to the beach was a hard walk especially for us not used to walking thru sand on a hot day with medical issues like asthma. Some older couples had to stop and catch breath too. Once we got to a area to set stuff down we wanted nothing but to head for ocean. That was great except for a couple jelly fish and crabs?? Pinching our toes ouch! The beach was not really crowded maybe 30 families spread out. At one point my daughter and I were only ones in Ocean for miles. Thought that was weird and cool at same time. Could see dolphins out deep. If there was a route to lighthouse other than by boat we didn’t see it. Over all had great time.
Beautiful park with an awesome borrow-a-bike program! The museum is very well kept and the nature center is filled with cool information! I definitely suggest stopping by the pier for the view of the coast and the Lewes-Cape May ferry. The beach was much less crowded than Rehoboth and stretched for quite a ways. There are multiple places to get a great view of the whole beach and the ocean. If you enjoy the beach, hiking trails, and nature, then this park is for you.
Park is beautifully maintained by volunteers. It has a great historical Fort Miles Museum. The trails are great for biking or hiking. The Ocean views , dunes, and beach areas are well maintained with beautiful views. There is also an observation tower with spectacular Ocean views.
Great park with lots to do for just $10 if you visit from out of state. We visited during off season during the first weekend of October.
We enjoyed visiting the Nature Center, which is a small room with 5 different fish aquariums and a small touch tank, which is nice for the kids. We were just a few minutes too late to partake in the borrow a bike program, but it’s a great program that allows you to take a bike for free and ride the trails around the park. We visited the beach area, which has a convenient bath house and lots of space to stretch out along the sand.
There’s sightseeing to enjoy- lighthouses, wildlife, and gorgeous water views. We definitely recommended climbing the observation tower to take in the sights. For a fun activity, count the number of stairs as you climb to the top! How many stairs did you count?
There’s also an area to drive out on the beach for vehicles that are approved to do so, kayaks, and a military museum.
Definitely worth the trip in the summer or the off season.
Nice beach. Gets VERY crowded in the summer – you need to get here early for a decent spot and/or some peace and quiet. Just be aware there are multiple beach entry points. The beach at the end of the road (“The Point” parking lot) is for people who park their trucks on the sand… we didn’t realize that at first. The better beach is the first one you come across that has the big parking lot and the pavilion/snack bar. I recommend checking out the rest of the park as well. There’s trails and some historical sites. $10/day for out-of-staters, $5/day for Delaware residents.
