Recently stayed Thursday to Saturday. Nice resort, nice surroundings. Went to the water park and had a great time. Unfortunately the last river was closed, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately some of the restaurants were probably closed due to lack of staff, but those that were open offered good value. Was happy to see free destination EV charging. All and all a great experience.By Roger Jin (5 months ago)We have skied here for years and it is incredible. We are now teaching our almost 3 yr old to ski and the bunny hill is perfect. The tram is great for all ages. There are many places to eat in site. The waterpark is fun all year long. Highly recommended.By Meagan Van Woert (5 months ago)This is my first experience here. It was a great choice for a weekend escape out of the city. I enjoyed all the amenities, scenic views, and water park. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. My family and I stayed at the Jays Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Definitely, looking forward to another visit.
Thank you, Jay Peak staff members for making this a great trip. I appreciate all the efforts and dedication!
By Melissa Gilmete (5 months ago)We went for the indoor water park only so I can’t rate the rooms. Service is rated for those staff we came in contact with while there. The price is a bit excessive given the “main attraction” (lazy river) is closed and there was just one small pool, wave boarding, and 4 water slides open. I understand that workers are hard to come by everywhere right now, so I can appreciate why it was closed, but maybe they should discount the cost of admission when you are missing out on something that literally runs through the entire building and gives access to every area?
We had a cabana and it was okay, probably not worth the cost, but it was neatly kept with plenty of towels and water. The chairs weren’t super comfortable, but there were several of them.
Food is expensive and lots of fried food. There was a wait, BUT there was just one person back there when we arrived to get in line and he was fast and agile at getting so much done for so many until more people showed up to help. He was amazing. High praise for him, his speed, his politeness to everyone (even those who weren’t!), and general praise for his all around awesomeness.
Drinks – we did have a couple of drinks. Alcohol, as expected, was extremely expensive, but the drinks were pretty good. The high cost definitely tinges my perception there.
All in all, a neat day trip, but I probably wouldn’t go again. Nice, but not as nice as it should be for the cost in my opinion.
By Angela Vitale (6 months ago)Just went skiing there. The folks at customer service were super friendly and informative. I really cannot rate the rest of the resort since I didn’t have a chance to experience it. What I saw looked nice…. certainly a place that we would consider staying for a future vacation.By Kirk Buchanan (in the last week)

An amazing experience customer!! We had a last minute situation and we got to the resort late and would not have had adequate time to enjoy. They accommodated us readily without any issue and allowed us to reschedule for the next day. They were so nice and understanding! The following day we were prepared and had a wonderful time. The resort is beautiful, the staff is kind, overall a great experience that I highly recommend. I would leave them 10 stars if I could!By Veronica (2 months ago)My son and I had a fantastic day of MTB at Bolton Valley over Labor Day weekend. Great deal on lift tickets, super friendly service all around – from the rental shop to the ticket office, to the lift operators. Trails were great fun, and they’re in the process of building more jump trails.
Can’t wait to come back!
By Clarke Morrison (4 months ago)This place is beautiful, the people are super nice, and the terrain seems wonderful. We had a great time mountain biking and riding the lift, but the lack of snow in the summertime makes it really hard to snowboard or ski. So unfortunately we missed out on those two things. But the mountain biking is class!By Ride_of _a_life (5 months ago)Great place to ski both cross country and down hill. Don’t ski as often as when I was younger. But my nephew and his kids live nearby and the price is right for me as a season pass is priced right for me at age 78.By Anne B Barnard (6 months ago)I came here for mountain biking. It was a fantastic time. Not beginner friendly!! Great views, great staff. Very very slow lift. Beautiful area. I will be back in the winter to check it out.By Joe Miller (4 months ago)

Finally revisited Sugarbush since i was last there in 1986 for a HS ski trip. Things have changed quite a bit, and for the better – i was able to order my lift ticket online for instance. When i arrived, they checked me in quickly, and the guys in the rental department were helpful in getting me the proper skis & boots, and i was out the door quickly. It was early in the season around Dec 20, so there were naturally a smaller number of lifts & trails open, and they were making snow too, but skiing & service was good, and what i had expected.By Tim Cunningham (a year ago)Along with Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush is one of my three top places to ski in the Northeast. They have tons of great tree skiing, a nice little village at Lincoln Peak and just an overall great vibe at this mountain. There are a ton of great local skiers here as well. I couldn’t recommend a visit to Sugarbush highly enough, if the snow is good you’ll have just as much fun here as you would anywhere out west. These photos by the way are from a late season trip, I can assure you Sugarbush is awesome during the heart of winter season!!!By Anthony R (a year ago)Skiing wasn’t the best but that’s mother nature’s fault, it snowed but the wind was heavy and they shut down the lifts early. Ticketing and lift lines were efficient but the lifts were slow, didn’t seem like high speed quads. This whole experience cost $185 for a single day ticket, also had to park far away and shuttle so in all I got less than four hours on the slopes for that price.By jcoakley (10 months ago)So much fun!!! Trials for literally everyone! Going up Heaven’s Gate was beautiful and like being on top of the world! Absolutely loved both mountains.By Kellie Buker (10 months ago)Nice expansive mountain with diverse terrain to ski. Can get really cold which can turn the snow into hard pack. Lodge and dining options are clean and well kept. Things can get a little pricey so if you can scoop up a lift ticket on the cheap it’ll make the costs of beer less painful. Luckily, Lawson’s Finest Liquids is a short drive away for post skiing beers.By Jeremy Hancher (10 months ago)

Have skied Magic Mountain twice, once in the dead of winter when the temperatures were freezing cold then another time in the spring during their last weekend opened for the season. From a terrain perspective Magic definitely is the best in Southern Vermont and has that old school Mad River Glen type vibe. Alot of the terrain remains ungroomed and the mountain does have quite a few areas with steep pitches and solid tree skiing when there is snow. One thing to keep in mind is that the lifts are slow so on very cold days make sure to really bundle up as the ride to the top takes around 15 minutes. We had to cut one of our days there short during the main winter season because we didn’t dress warm enough and froze to death riding up the lift.By Anthony R (4 months ago)Come make magic at magic mountain 🏔️
Magic mountain is cheaper than other ski resorts near by and it does show a little mainly in the ski lift department. They are a bit shaky and Rusty and some of the supports are leaning it’s a little scary but there are some pretty cool slops to go down my favorite was magic carpet. The Lodge is nice they have a nice outdoor deck there wasn’t wifi but fries and chicken tenders are good.By Jack Cairborne (10 months ago)Magic is one of the few places left in the east that you never have to worry about getting lost at, all trails lead to the base. The red and green chairs aren’t high speed but one can go to other places for that; Conversations with other skiers on the 10+ minute ride to the summit are a great opportunity to meet someone new and discuss anything you can think of!The staff from the ticket office and rental shop to the lift operators are always friendly and ready to help.
The Black Line Tavern has solid pub food and a varied and reasonably priced local beer selection and great live music at night! The terrain at Magic is unique in southern Vermont and isn’t always suitable for inexperienced skiers due to its steeper nature – but! There is a great learning area to teach friends or get a refresher. Just about half of the mountain has snowmaking which gets reliable bases on the most traveled trails. Magic is skied at its best after fresh natural snow and those days may be in your top 10 ski days ever!
If you love skiing, short lines and chill vibes, Magic should be on your ski bucket list!
By A Izzo (11 months ago)Came here on the Indy Pass with an online reservation.
To say I was happy is an understatement. The people are friendly from both the staff to the long Magic skiing patrons. The trails were well groomed and even though there was a lack of snow due to a rain event earlier in the week, what was open was interesting, varied and fun to ski. There are a lot of twists and turns around that catch you happily unaware. The network zig zags back and forth across the main face with trails dropping off of the feeder trails. There are lots of double fall lines, twists and drops to make it fun. I’ll be definitely coming back once we get some more snow.
By Paul Parsons (11 months ago)Great day of skiing. Cool retro feel. Laid back vibe. Tavern with good selection of beers on tap. Only issue was that the main chair was not active until 1pm due to maintenance and that was not made clear when ticket was purchased online.By Paul Vandal (10 months ago)

Although Vermont is a large state with many amazing places to visit, these 12 locations stand out as the best according to traveler ratings and reviews. Did your favorite spot make the cut? Let us know in the comments above!
Fantastic ski hill and World Cup is a great time during thanksgiving. The vibe is great and the mountain is huge with plenty of accommodations and food. LOTS OF OUT OF STATE people however, this is a touristy place. If you are looking for quiet, local and friendly go to any other VT or NH hill.
A lot of the black diamonds were closed when we visited but that did not stop us from having a ton of fun on the blues and greens! Killington is about 10 hours from my home and made for a perfect winter vacation. The views on the mountain are beautiful and there are plenty of different trails for different tastes.
No wonder Killington is the Beast of the East! This place is AMAZING! There are so many slopes ranging from easy, indeterminate, to hard, and REALLY HARD!!!
Also, please DOWNLOAD the Killington APP.
It will track your locations on the mountains and also give you your skiing/snowboarding statistics. You can also add friends and find their locations on the map of the mountains.
It is super neat and useful.
The lifts are quick and easy to get on. We had a blast snowboarding at Killington today!
Will definitely come back whenever we can.🏂
The Beast in various snow conditions. Loved skiing here for the past several years. Hands down one of the best places in VT and the East Coast for getting into moguls, glades and some relaxing groomers at the end of the day. Fun for all skill levels and great for couples, friend groups, kids, and everyone in-between.
Kids were taking ski lessons and we have a couple hours to kill, so we took the gondola (40pp) to a restaurant/pub at the top of the mountain. The views were great and the fireplace kept us warm. In addition, we went on a little hidden magical hike and it was breathtaking.
