One of the better zoo’s we’ve been to in Canada. Its clean, well kept, lots of exhibit variety. You can easily burn an entire day walking around this place. There is ample parking and the zoo is easy to get to. Getting through reception is fast and effective. There’s typically volunteers spread throughout the park to assist you if needed. The main attraction is the large polar bear exhibit – the bears seem to be most active in the morning. Some other worth while attractions are the dinosaurs uncovered exhibit, aunt sally’s farm, toucan ridge, and the kangaroo walkabout. Tundra grill is cafe near the Journey to Churchill exhibit and offers a great view of the polar bear enclosure while you have a bite to eat. Also inside the Tundra Grill is the Polar Playground – a great indoor play structure for the kids. Highly recommend the visit.By Shane Seguin (5 months ago)This is a great zoo! The polar bear and seal underwater walkway is amazing!!! Lots of other animals to see also. Easily walked in 2-4 hours depending on how much time you spend reading the displays. Super fun dinosaur area with animatronic creatures! Easy (and free) parking. Though it’s been a few years since I visited (around 3 years), I remember it being a well put together experience, with animals I haven’t seen before. I went during Winter and there were many snowy animals on display outside, from arctic foxes to wolves and other wildlife. The indoor displays were equally impressive, with a nice stingray pool which you can approach and do some petting as well! A really nice polar bear exhibit as well. The gift/souvenir shop is quite cool as well with a ton of things to buy. Good pricing for zoo admission from what I remember. There are also zoo lights around winter time as well! The polar bear and seal building, where there is the walk-way under the water, that was nice too. Bathroom at the gift shop was clean. The animal enclosures was kinda sad. Felt for the poor tiger and polar bear and wolf – they looked bored and depressed. Lots of weeds around the walk ways. There weren’t many animals and i guess we were there at the wrong time of day. I think the kicker is the price – 2 adults and 3 kids was over $80. They did a pretty good job decorating the place while making it a little scary for the kids.
Enjoyed it very much. We also got a bucket of mini donuts and hot chocolates, very tasty 9/10

Regardless what you like to do, just go there and enjoy.
Museum, zoo, hiking, biking, family gathering, probably barbecuing, cricketing, soccer, kids toy land, restaurants, some festivals, and so and so … they all are opportunities you may experience it in the park to have fun.
What I like more over there, is photographing. Stunning landscape beside the river, including different types of animals, during summer and winter time, make it fascinating!

It’s always great to visit the Forks when visiting Winnipeg. The area is well kept (no litter), with lots of seating areas around the river and outside.
With lots of boutique like stores to visit, you will walk away with a little treasure. On top of that, the food is excellent! I would recommend to come hungry if you can and snag yourself some treats!
Very close to other attractions downtown, all within walking distance (Human Rights Museum, Bridge, Winnipeg Sign, Meeting spot, etc).
I gave myself two hours parking to walk around the Forks Market and surrounding area. I would recommend at least 3 hours or more as there is so much to do in this area. It was a beautiful day and it was quite busy. Lots of kids on field trips, younger kids playing in the sprinkler park, and other people on the walking path enjoying the sunshine.
You can walk over the foot bridge to see the Louis Riel site. This was also very busy with a line up to get it. I didn’t go inside as I didn’t want to wait in line… The walk over the bridge was nice. It took about 10 minutes to walk to Louis Riel from the Forts Market.
Also saw some interesting Public Art along the way.
Loved The Forks Market. Had THE best chocolatine ever at Tall Grass Prairie Bakery. So buttery, so ultra crispy flaky, I can’t wait Road visit The Forks and explore more, soon!
It’s a cozy place with lots of nice and cute stores here. It’s a pity that I couldn’t explore more due to insufficient time, but I definitely will come back again. Oh, and the food is very good.
I will go out of my way to visit this place. There was an abundance of food and shops that allowed a tourist like to get a good feel of the area. I immediately stopped in and got some cigars and souvenirs. I decided to walk around and found some stairs that took me to the top and gave me some pretty cool views of the area. I was able to go outside and see a live band set up and eventually led me to find a boat tour. There is an ATM where I was able to get local cash.
