  1. One of my favorite zoos I’ve been too. Definitely try and time it for an animal showing, SOOO worth it! The trainers are experts with their species and the show is phenomenal and short enough that you won’t get bored or tired. The exhibits are spacious and considerate for each species, try and time it for an overcast day so the animals are more active. Definitely bring water or money for a vending machine. The bird rooms are also one of the best stops, for sure check it out after you stop to feed the giraffes! Lots of interactive opportunities and a great variety of species. Definitely worth the drive from Purdue!

  2. We love the zoo! Our youngest kids hadn’t got to go so we decided to go spend the day yesterday and we had a great time! The only part that wasn’t so great was the forest, the only animals out were the birds. We know it was probably due to the new exhibit coming so no big deal. We will still be back! It was completely packed but we still got through in good time! Our kids loved the monkey and the elephants! We got to see all our favorite animals and everyone really enjoyed it! It’s worth the money you spend to have the fun with the family!

  3. I really loved my day that I spent here. They did very well with handling the interactions and also respecting the animals as well. Most of the enclosures had happy active animals, the only one I thought was questionable was the lions enclosure.
Greatly enjoyed the dolphin meet and greet, feeding the flamingos/giraffes and taking the sky track ride around the orangutans exhibit.
Definitely worth the trip from Kentucky.

  4. Lots to do in such a little space. If you don’t do rides or shows you could walk the entire zoo in two hours. We loved seeing the elephants and how well kept they were. The Safari area was cool and the animals looked like they had plenty of room. The budgie cage was great to have all those birds free flying around. The orangutans look like they would be fun to watch if you get then at the right moment. Plan your path around the dolphin show and make sure to get there 10 minutes early. They do close the doors 5 minutes before show time. All in all it was a good zoo and one that doesn’t take all day.

  5. Nice. Not overwhelming huge..but big enough…about 3 to 4 hours to see everything….
    Lots of parking…and handicap spaces..
    Lots of helpful friendly employees.

    Loved the dolphin show..
And a demonstration of macaws..beautiful birds..
Lots of big animals…elephants, giraffe, zebra, tiger, lion, cheetah…
    Variety of colorful birds…and reptiles..

Very nicely laid out..use a map….lots of restrooms…very clean and maintained..
Several choices of getting something to eat or drink stands..and outdoor tables with umbrellas..some inside eating too.

Not included in your entrance price..is a mini roller coaster.
A gondola ride over the orangutan outdoor enclosure…also fantastic view of the city skyline..its quite a high ride..but goes slowly.

And a train around the zoo…(my opinion…i wouldn’t waste my extra $$ to to ride it…just went by the back lot..zoo maintenance..weeds….didn’t see any animals..just a train ride)
And a carousel for the kids..

    Overall..quite an enjoyable day..
    And gift shop..

I took my 9 year old and 5 year old and we stayed from open to close and still had things we didn’t get to do. The outside sports area is amazing. They had so much fun they wanted to return the following day. Parking was free, food was a little pricey but was as expected. You can bring your own inside the dining area. The place was clean and employees were so friendly.

We had a great day at the museum
It was a bit busy .The kids still enjoyed it.
They really liked the dino area..Would like to go back during the week when its not to busy. The tickets were 34. Each and snacks were $10. for each kid.We didn’t know you could take your lunch in ,will do that next time.

So much fun! Doesn’t matter what your age is. I personally, haven’t been here since grade school and seeing the trains brings back so many great memories. I loved to be able to share the experience with my family. All the exhibits were fantastic. My boys were thrilled to ditch school for a family – educational field trip!

My kids love this place! We have a family membership, which I highly recommend if you live locally and go more than a few times a year. The recent changes to the Dinosphere are awesome and a welcome change to an already cool exhibit.

I have a 4-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl who had the best time here today! We were coming to town, 5 and a half hours away, for a food show with our kids in Indianapolis. We did that and planned a day trip. We spent 6 hours there, and we could have stayed to closing if we weren’t trying to travel closer to home. There is so much to do inside and out. My husband, who hates these kinds of things, spent hours in the sports experience with our kids. I cannot recommend this place enough. Even the guy in the parking garage was incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Drury Inn in Carmel, which was about 18 minutes away, which provides a free breakfast and dinner(5:30pm- 7:30pm)AND 3 complimentary drinks, which was refreshing!

Definitely worth a stop if you are visiting Indianapolis for a first time. It is way taller than you would think and has beautiful sculpture work. It is surrounded by small businesses and nice stops. Lots of cool events around the area as well.

Breathtaking sculpture of those who volunteered and fought for the state and for the country. The artwork makes you emotional and makes you value how rich history is. The architecture of the whole monument looks like ancient European ones. The views from any angles are simply amazing.

An amazing monument in the cutest round about. I would recommend parking on the side to grab any quick photos. Also, check the schedule before you go because the inside of the monument was closed when we went.

Beautiful monument to our war heroes right in down town. Music and lights change at the top of the hour. Very cool and worth seeing when in Indianapolis

This place is aesthetic! So many people love going downtown during the weekend just to sit at the circle. It is pretty chill and you get to meet amazing people. People singing, dancing, many eating and car meets as well. It is also a place that several individuals go to distressed and I think that is pretty amazing. On top of that, the circle center Christmas light during December is heartwarming! We Hoosiers absolutely love it!

A great place to hike! Visited the place around 5:30 late in the evening and it was lovely! The weather was lovely and we did the blue trail which was around 3.25 miles and it covered the Lilly pond and one other which where lovely!

One should definitely plan a picnic or sorts and the place has great infrastructure for the same as well! Must visit if in the area.

Entrance: For people in and around the place it’s $5 and if there is someone not from the nearby county it’s $6. Usually North gate is the place you end up at if you coming from the state highway. Do get a map at the gate for better navigation

Trails: As I explored it on foot, we understood that there were three trails for hiking. The longest was around 5 miles (blue trail); followed by red trail around 3.25 miles ans the smallest being green of approx 2 miles There is a great trail for biking as well.

I am surprised I had not been to this park until recently. It seems peace and natural beauty can be found in central Indiana, assuming you do not mind the occasional plane engine or jet noise fading in and out overhead. It is dog friendly, has restrooms readily available, and the cleanliness stands out the most. Unfortunately, this park does not allow bikes on trails. For those who ride MTB, we are stuck with either driving to Brown County Park or using the local Town Run Trail Park for our fix.

This is a beautiful park and very large too! The trails are nicely maintained and the fresh air and serenity are incredible! There are a great many displays to educate people in wildlife too. A very fun place to visit. I will be back soon!

Rarely you will find a landscape where you have walking trial in the middle of 2 huge water bodies on either side.

Fantastic place to visit and have fun with just a romantic walk with spouse or picnic with friends.. highly recommend going there on a hot summer day. Don’t forget to take a water melon for a refreshing snack after a long walk.

A very beautiful park with wonderful walking trails. Many pavilions and picnic tables with BBQ grills. Decent fishing considering it’s central Indiana. Lots of friendly people enjoying the day.

What an awesome museum! I was visiting out of town from Raleigh North Carolina and was super impressed! We saw the MONET show and stopped in to the clothing showcase also. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The show was spectacular and shouldn’t be missed even if you aren’t into art it was such a wonderful presentation and to feel like you were in the picture was unbelievable! There were children chasing butterflies on the floor and wandering streets. I can’t say enough good things about the show and all the many shows on the other floors AND then there are the grounds! Wow! So much to do and see and a paragraph doesn’t begin to describe it! I will be back!

This was a fun art museum to visit. The different works were displayed well & had pieces on display that attracted all ages. I appreciated that they even had family activities for younger visitors to do. We will have to come back to view the outdoor garden when the weather is nicer. I would reccomend purchasing tickets online in advanced for the special traveling exhibits. Sometimes the showings of the special exhibits are full if you try to visit the same day.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The exhibits are exquisite. A fun educational experience my family loved from mom in law to 10 year old child. I very much recommend a visit.

Winter Lights at Newfields is such a great time! Fun filled time for the family. My Mom and Step Dad were here visiting for Christmas and we took them to see the lights and they loved it. I’m a member of Newfields and love everything they offer. Tonight was the best weather to go, it was 60°. I give the people who put up the lights Mad Props for doing that! If you have not been you need to get there and see the lights!

I was able to wander around the second level. The museum is open a bit later than others in the area. I enjoyed the furniture and home goods immensely. I was surprised to not see any Homer Laughlin, but there were a lot of other amazing pieces, and I was happy for the time to explore!

We are very thankful for the neighborhood membership…we are able to visit free of charge!
