  1. I’m ashamed to admit I had never been to this restaurant/ fish stall before. OMG! If you love sashimi like I do, you need to come here! High quality sashimi and very good prices. I still can’t believe they charged me only 30 dollars for some high grade Blue Fin Tuna! It tasted and went down like butter! You know they could easily charge this for double the price at restaurants. The rest of the of sashimi, uni and scallops were simply delicious!

There is only 4 small tables for eat in. It’s located inside a market in Chinatown. Lots of homeless walking around. Don’t be afraid though, they don’t bother you but will ask you for some money for food.

EPIC meal and I will be back!

  2. Sashimi was fresh! Rice was good! Vibes are great! Prices were also reasonable although I wish there was a little more volume. The

    The neighborhood is disgusting:(

Parking was also a bit difficult so be prepared. Several homeless and mentally sick people roaming the streets. Maybe I caught Chinatown on a bad day but I haven’t felt that uncomfortable in a while.

I had to go there because the Waikiki location was closed. Next time I’ll just wait until it opens the next day

  3. This was my first poke experience when I landed. Highly rated and well worth it driving into Chinatown. My cousins and I ordered the ume & shio, mix maguro donburi, chutoro & shoyu and the king salmon combo with a side of uni. Wow everything here was so fresh and buttery. Prices are reasonable. The fish to rice ratio is perfect. Speaking with one of the chefs they get their ingredients locally or through Japan every other day. Its a small location located in a small indoor shopping center with plenty of other food vendors. Lines here are pretty small and they prep your food really quickly. I am really pick with my sushi. The tuna, salmon and uni were definitely fresh. My cousins and I kept talking about Maguro being our favorites. There is outdoor dining right in the center of the shopping center. Parking is limited to street or garage parking. Highly recommend this place if you want qualify poke and better cuts of fish.

  4. Some of the best quality fish I’ve ever had. Was recommended this place and it did not disappoint. A bountiful selection of really fresh seafood, pulled out of the water that very morning. The steamed clams were divine, the pokes delicious in their own right but the fatty tuna/uni was exceptional. Amazing amazing stuff. Definitely worth the effort to seek this mythical place out. A fantastic bang for you buck eatery located in a vibrant Chinatown market.
    Dos sushi’s up ??

  5. A second location to the famous Maguro Brothers in Oahu! This place’s poke is a more of a nod to your classic Japanese sashimi on rice, while still offering a few Hawaiian poke options.

We had the Mix Maguro Donburi, Chutoro Donburi, King Salmon Donburi, Hawaiian Limu Ahi Poke Bowl, and a side of Hokkaido uni and Ikura. All of these plates were refreshing, high quality, and such a treat. If anyone in your party prefers to stay away from raw fish, their grilled selections are phenomenal as well — We tried one of their grilled ahi, which was cooked perfectly!

Amazing restaurant and experience, highly recommend if you can get a reservation. Imaginative cuisine flawlessly executed, every dish spot on in terms of flavor and balance. The bar was accommodating and able to pull off riffs on classic island cocktails, and happily helped make the non-alcoholic spritzers a bit sweeter to suit our tween childrens’ palates. Certainly the best meal we’ve had on Oahu and have our kids begging to go back…

Highly recommended! Absolutely delicious and creative food, great cocktails, excellent service and amazing atmosphere. We had the scallops, gnocchi, bone marrow, panisse and cocktail 007. Every dish was a journey, very carefully created and a great balance of flavors. Beautifully plated on custom made wood plates made by one of the chefs. Can’t wait to go back

We had an excellent experience seated at the counter for dinner. Service was attentive and personable, we particularly liked the snacks, the eggplant side and the sea scallops were slightly weaker compared to the ahi cigar, steak tar tart & bone marrow dish but overall enjoyable. Dishes were tasty and looked like art.

Will be back when in Oahu again.

Chef’s kiss! The best meal I’ve had on Oahu! Exceptional food, service, presentation, and all around experience. Each course was flawless with flavors I hadn’t previously seen work together so perfectly. Highly recommend if you can get a reservation.

WOW. That’s the only word I could think of when eating the incredible dishes at this restaurant. The food here is just on a different level. Even though a couple of the dishes I wanted to try were sold out, the dishes I did order were so delicious. Haven’t had a dining experience like this since I was in Italy. A MUST TRY when on Oahu. Just spectacular. 11/10

For our Anniversary we decided to try Hy steakhouse in Waikiki, Hawaii. Our experience was great. We were served by Teresa with help from Mana and JP. We started off with the house made Caesar Salad. Teresa literally made it in front of us. Then we ordered the Porterhouse for two, Medium Rare, mash potatoes and veggies. Teresa cut up our steak in front of us! It was delicious! I had an Old Fashioned and My bride had the Hy Blend Cab. Delicious and refreshing. We finished off our Anniversary dinner with the Bananas Foster which Teresa made in front us us as well! The presentations were on point, Teresa insured we were taking care of the whole night! We had such a great experience! Our wait staff were top notch! FYI they do have a dress code, no open toed shoes, no hats and must have a collared shirt.

we went here for an anniversary dinner a few months ago, finally made the review now! the food is good but definitely save this place for a special occasion. service is super on point. highly recommend, the steak was yummy. the beef wellington was good, not exactly the best I’ve ever had but it was well cooked and delicious. the complimentary dessert to celebrate our occasion was a nice touch.
✭✭✭✭✭ By Shuui Ci (3 weeks ago)
Reservations only. And they’ll call you a few hours prior to make sure you’ll abide by the dress code. Complimentary valet at the restaurant so you don’t have to look for parking. That’s nice at least. The service from beginning to end was absolutely flawless and impeccable. We get checked on by multiple servers consistently and the water gets refilled right away when it reaches a certain level. Everyone was polite and friendly which made me feel really comfortable being there. Then comes the food. They do give you a free starter, 4 pieces of cheesy bread. Used to be 6 btw. For a party of two, if you ought to order an appetizer, two entrees, a dessert and drinks. You’ll probably be looking at $250-$280 not including the tips. Everything was marked up at least 200%-300%. For what exactly? Hey I don’t mind splurging once in a while but i wasn’t sure what i was paying all that money for. I ordered the scallops for appetizers, they were seasoned well and tasted fine. A little on the smaller side but whatever. New York strip and potato for entrees. I could easily get the same meal from Outback or Ruth Chris for half of the price. Tastes the same and nothing stands out for me. The dessert chocolate mousse looked very pretty and it was tasty too without being too sweet. The cocktail, again, very teeny tiny glass and not much to drink. For a $20 lemon drop I’d at least expected a bigger glass. Overall, great service and mediocre food that was not worth the price. The service definitely enhanced my overall experience, but I was there for the food and that didn’t come first for me.

The service was great! But if there are well known for their steak I wonder why the steak is not even prime at all it’s kinda dry my cousin have to ask for an A1 sauce to add flavor. The dessert and sea bass was really good though.

DRESS CODE!!! For men, come with shoes that COVER YOUR FEET!!!
The steak was cooked very well, perfect I can say, and the service overall was outstanding and not overwhelming. As vegan you can also enjoy some sides, so don’t be afraid to try this place if your partner eats meat.

The atmosphere was great and the customer service was great. Sadly, the food fell below expectation. The food LOOKED amazing, however the taste was not there. The steak was very chewy, the wings had a great coating on the outside but the skin tasted like the ? was boiled. This is even more disappointing given the high prices.

Our food was so very good. We also got the cheese tray not pictured here. My ranch Korean with rice and beef was over the top delicious! The only thing bad was my husband’s veal weinershnitzetl was a tad overcooked but the flavor was still good. Recommend making a reservation otherwise good luck. Will definitely be going back

From start to finish, a great experience. We had reservations at the bar, with the Maestro, Fabrice. His title is 100% deserving. He described in great detail the nightly specials, made amazing cocktails, and was very wonderful overall. We felt welcomed and were never rushed, allowing us to savor each bite. This is our new favorite restaurant, and we can’t wait to return!

Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. This is a very intimately sized restaurant, and I’d hate for you not to get a table.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local, and it was spot on the best meal we ate all week. Kevin was our waiter and he was fantastic, knowledgeable and made our experience great! I highly recommend the rocky road ice cream:)

Absolutely lovely experience with a fantastic waitress! Servings are large, so keep that in mind when choosing apps! We got a steak Caesar salad and a special appetizer, both of which filled the two of us up, prior to our entrees! The food is wonderful, the ambiance is homey, and all around we had a delightful, very filling experience. I highly recommend it!

Absolutely amazing and perfect dining experience form start to finish! Run don’t walk to this fantastic new restaurant. We did the chefs tasting menu paired with wine and sat at the chefs table which we tremendously enjoyed! To watch this team of expert chefs work together creating these amazing dishes was so enjoyable. Ambience, food and service was all perfectly on point. We loved it so much we are going back again to try the à la carte menu. Highly recommend this amazing new restaurant in Waikiki
✭✭✭✭✭ By Darren Novi (5 months ago)
Totally speechless. This restaurant should be fully booked months ahead of time, and we were lucky to find it in its early days when getting a reservation is not hard and the 6-course tasting menu is only $85!

The food – incredible flavors and imaginative presentation. My favorites were the steak – perfectly cooked with savory sauce below and a creamy purée above – and the deserts (where can we buy this cashew ice cream and the Okinawan sweet potato?!?!). Wine pairing was value-add to the dishes – especially loved the Hawaiian mead.

The service was superb. I felt the usually formal descriptions of the plates were more casual and inviting here. We also got to sit right at the kitchen bar so we saw all the dishes being made. The whole vibe was amazing.

We booked to go again tomorrow night and try their a la carte menu.

Wow!! this is a new island style French Restaurant. I was so excited to go there. And it was beyond my expectations!!
We tried the tasting menu which you can choose either regular course or plant- based course. I chose the Regular and my friend chose the plant-based course.
Everything was a great and so satisfied!!!

The steak tartare and rigatoni were delicious. My husband thought the tagliatelle was bland and not warm enough The bartender was busy so he never asked how are drinks were or if we would like another. We like to have cocktails too so this was a loss on their part. We wanted to try the tasting menu, but apparently I booked the reservation in the bar so it was not offered. Overall we thought it was good, however, we probably will not return for the tasting menu.
✭✭✭✭ By Scott Shiigi (4 months ago)
A delicious tasting menu from chef Nae Ogawa. The “French dining” description doesn’t do justice to the range of flavors and styles on offer here – there are influences of modern Hawaiian cuisine as well as Asian and Japanese in the creations presented.
    We’ll be back.
