I went here only for the wild lights and it was quite amazing to experience. Got some of my favorite pictures and could see very few animals. Beautiful train journey though. Always keep one dollar for the train. Wondered how they kept the Santa and reindeers on top of the mountain. Loved the detailing in that also to include Rudolph the RED NOSE REINDEER. Illuminated dragon was really good so was the arch and dinosaurs. Overall a great experience.By Jobin George (a year ago)Loved it, it was a really fun experience! Each animal exhibit had lots of interesting information about that animal, the train ride was super fun, the park was really clean, and the gift shop had lots of cool things (I bought several items)! Loved spending the day here, I would visit again!By Peter Siapno (7 months ago)Really cool place! All the animals are rescues or rehabs. Seems the habitats are a little overgrown but we still saw the grizzlies, the kermodes bears, cougar, wolves, fox, elk, rams, mountain goats and so much more in the 1.5 hr we were there. Go early to beat the heat!By T C (6 months ago)Amazing experience with the family. I’d it’s sunny remember to bring sun screen! The facility was incredibly clean and the animals seemed happy!By J S (7 months ago)Good way to kill a day with the little ones. Bunch of different rescue animals to check out. Even got a train that does a couple loops of the park. Worst part was a cheeseburger I ordered that I’m pretty sure wasn’t meat(it was grey and slimy and tasted like freezer burnt cardboard) It inevitably found its way to the garbage after 2 bites. So if you eat at the Cafe order the wraps and not the burgers.By theladd (9 months ago)

Really nice park to walk or bike. I use to live very close to this park so I visited it frequently. Animals, running water, greenery, people… It had many places to stop and rest. The squirrels in this park are very nice! When I would sit down most of the time I’d have a squirrel appear in my lap lol I loved it! This park has a bit of everything.By Dwagonfwy (11 months ago)Went to Kamloops Gem Show that was held at the Sports Arena this month. After the show I decided to walked through the grounds in MacArthur Park on the way out.
They are very well maintained….beautiful green lawns and huge weeping birches with other variety of plants & seasonal flowers. Went to Xeriscape Garden, which is a lovely garden that offers a quiet space to sit and enjoy the tranquility of nature and is near the walking path.
The park itself is covers a vast area with walking trails thst encompass the whole park & along the west side, too.
Wildlife abounds in the park from squirrels, golden marmot, geese families, bear, many deer & bird species, occasionally cougars, and coyotes. It’s a beautiful place to spend the afternoon or have a picnic.By Sharon (5 months ago)An Awesome Place to have fun 🥰🥰🥰
Bigger Play Grounds for Various GamesBoth Indoor and Outdoor Spaces are just Spectacular 🦋🦋
I had the opportunity to be there as my daughter was having her first Skating Practice, being conducted by her School, Arthur Hatton Elementary School, Chestnut, Kamloops.
By Sijo Devassykutty (3 weeks ago)McArthur Island Park is actually a beautiful hidden gem on the Kamloops North Shore. It has soccer fields, baseball diamonds, lots of green space ,a stadium as well as a skateboard park. Beautiful shoreline walking community path edged by beautiful trees along the river side. Now the feature I enjoy the most is the boat launch that can be used for most of the boating season . Have fun ya all ! Photos are taken in the vicinity of McArthur Park and we do use the ramp on a regular basis .

I rated 4 stars because the park’s not allowed dogs. There’s so many family bring dogs when they travel for the tournament but we have to leave dogs in the car in hot weather because no dogs allowed in the parkBy Leeah Park (9 months ago)

Such a beautiful park in the core of Kamloops. There is even an off leash dog park by the river. The trail winds all along the river. It’s a beautiful walk and, for us, a perfect time of year.
A beautiful and expansive park along the river in downtown Kamloops. Lots of open green spaces, big play structures for the kids, and other sports facilities. A great place for a picnic or to daydream away an afternoon. Worth a visit!
Relaxing park, run, walk, bike, play, picnic, meet people or enjoy alone time. This is a top priority for us.
Music in the Park is a daily event offering evening of fun for music lovers. A chance to connect and enjoy. Sponsored by BCLC… thank you
Tonight, another excellent performance!
We recommend!
I love this park. It is very easy to access and a place to see year around. They have construction going on right now so some of the areas are not accessible but hopefully they are all done my next summer.
I am not a localite and dont mean to be rude but it’s an average park. Nothing great. Quite simple but peaceful. They also have a play area for kids. If you are not from Kamloops, then it’s OK even if you don’t visit. You are not missing out on something.
