First time visiting this beautiful place and camping. Loved the access to the clean beach. I would recommend to get to the beach early or not on a holiday weekend because my boyfriend and I were waiting like an hour and 15 minutes just to make it to pay the fee to access the island. Camping- lock your food up because the wild horses will come to your campsite if you don’t. It happened to your campsite neighbors. No one was hurt but still causes some anxiety. Loved the bathroom for camping for obvious reasons. Great place to explore and camp. I would recommend experiencing this place yourself!By Brian Copes (5 months ago)I adore Assateague island. I’ve been visiting this place since I was knee high to a grasshopper and will continue to visit this place in the future. this visit is with my wife and kids and couldn’t be happier with the experience they are having so far. We spent a ton of time on the beach and we’re able to find shells, sand crabs, and even horseshoe crab shells. There is limited parking which means there is limited number of folks on the beach. Not super busy even for August. We saw ponies and tons of birds which was a delight. the park requires a pass which is 10 dollars per day or 45 for the year. will absolutely return often.By Ian Miller (5 months ago)Absolutely gorgeous place. Beautiful beach. Saw the horses. Just fun to see them in the wild. Could have seen them without paying the park admission as one greeted us at the end of the bridge – but love supporting our national parksBy Valerie D (3 months ago)Nice place! May take longer than you’d like to get into, but worth it. Didn’t go to the beach areas that day, but ventured into the trails and wooden walkways. Between venturing off and driving out, we counted 20 horses. So beautiful to watch them. People are respectful and quiet, so it makes it easier to stand there and soak it all in! I think this is a great place to bring your kids, too. They’ll enjoy it and learn alot. Visitor center before the bridge was interesting, informative, and the staff were nice.By AR2PA (6 months ago)Love the boat ride very welcoming! They showed us crabs and some other alive animals on the boat! There are bathrooms in the boat as well. We got to try to catch some things as well. Very affordable. We out there for about a 1 30 so very worth it. And I love how we explored the island very welcoming and I love it! We also saw the ponies!By Landon (7 months ago)

Gorgeous place, and boats galore! Lovely city to walk through, the food smelled wonderful but we didn’t stop, and I heard they are going to do some upgrades soon so looking forward to seeing those completed. The parking is paid space, so be Sure to take care of that and avoid a ticket.By Cara Norris (9 months ago)If you ever visit here for the fire works, I would come a few hours early, so that you can find close parking.
The fire works lasted exactly “5” minutes. Very short, but simple.
The town is cute. There a lot of shops and food.
There are bathrooms in this parking lot.
Really cute little thing to do on New Years Eve!
By MissRiva Gijanto (a year ago)A nice relaxing, friendly place. Lots of people, respectful and orderly. On a Sunday afternoon with the boat owners showing off their boats…of every size…reminded me of years ago teenagers cruising. Therapeutic!!By Catherine Palmer (6 months ago)Beautiful architecture & brown stone galor! On a nice day I love walking through & enjoying the sights! The restaurants/bars are cool but very small spaces for such large crowds if your going out on a weekend evening. The view is worth just walking around!By Angel T.W. (2 months ago)Love it here. Plenty to walk around and see/do, eat and drink. Diverse crowd. Lots of parking despite crowds at times. Definitely a good spot to walk around for any amount of time.By Courtnee O (8 months ago)

As far as beaches on the east coast goes, this is a pretty nice one. It’s clean and large so it doesn’t seem as crowded. The boardwalk is spacious and not as cramped as it could be. There are food options for people with allergies so that’s comforting.
(May 29, 2022) I haven’t been here since when they were building the boardwalk up. So this was so fun & new for me. Maybe next time I’ll have some money to enjoy myself & do more. It was beautiful & the rides seemed fun
One of the best boardwalk in the east coast you could find or comment me better boardwalk😃. Lot of shops in the boardwalk , crowded for some but we enjoy the crowd , safe for kids due to strict rule enforced on smoking or drinking. So you won’t mostly smell the smoke in the boardwalk. Very clean , reasonably priced tram service in the boardwalk. Once full way priced tram is $4 per person (above age 1). Lots of food variety and feels like you are on real vacation spots. People are mixed age group mostly , bike rentals and bike stands were also available. Keep cash in hand or most of the shops accepts card.beach is easy access from any spots on boardwalk . Food prices in the boardwalk are above normal but would not say very expensive. There are few items like ice cream on cone are $7 for small size. Parking near by boardwalk on weekend could be around $20 or cheaper than that. Couple of ride park along boardwalk , one is in pier and one is little further. One ferrywheel ride along boardwalk is $10 per person or $30 for 4 person. Very good family vacation spot.
Had a wonderful experience vacationing here with my family. 2.45 miles of beautiful boardwalk with lots to do from early morning to late evening stroll, walking, jogging, biking, shopping, dining, swimming, sun bathing or just relaxing on the countless number of benches, enjoying the fresh ocean breeze or sharing a meal with the birds. Don’t worry, there are many public restrooms along the board. very clean and felt very safe with many police officers patrolling the boardwalk through the day and night. Lots of street parking available and many excellent restaurants close by. We really enjoyed our time here and will certainly visit again.
The OCMD Boardwalk what can I say. It has to be one of my favorite places on earth to be day or night. It’s always been someplace I’ve enjoyed spending time with family ever since I was a kid and now that I have my own family it is no different. The sights, the sounds, the smells, its all there. I could just sit and people watch and be satisfied. There is so much to see and do. So many shops to visit, so much good food to try and cool pictures to take, I just can’t get enough. The sun and the sand and the cool ocean air makes me want to keep coming back every year. See you next summer.
