Great zoo. They have an amazing range of animals. The park is super clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. You must check out the peacock Cafe. The chef takes pride in the food that is served. He bakes his own cookies and muffins. My family started at the Maritime Aquarium in the morning and finished with the zoo in the afternoon. It’s very nice for being 99 years old. It’s also a very accessible zoo, for wheelchair users or for people who need quiet spaces! It took about an hour to do the whole loop and see everything, but it was very pleasant. Wish the indoor facilities had wheelchair accessible buttons to open the door. Staff was very nice and helpful. My grandparents had a great time. There’s food and beverages available as well as restrooms. The website says that you need to purchase tickets ahead of time on the website. We did and it was user friendly. We had a wonderful experience at the museum! Quite a lot to see and do! We enjoyed the Charles W Morgan boat, the blacksmith shop (the gentleman in there was awesome. Very informative!), the cord building, and the boat tour. All the staff we interacted with was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this for families. We saw people of all ages enjoying the exhibits.By Deb O (8 months ago)I recommend buying tickets online to avoid any waiting. Also, combining Mystic Aquarium with Mystic Seaport museum and village is cheaper than buying tickets separately.
It’s a very interesting place, where you could easily spend at least 3 hours. There is a LOT to see – you can visit any house in the village and see how they lived and worked, talk to the people who demonstrate different types of work that was done in the village (making huge ropes, boats, medicines, watches and clocks, etc). I liked the whaling museum! I loved how they told us about printing!
The lighthouse inside had a movie, telling a story of lighthouses in America.

So many fascinating little sea cottages, each telling their own story. A few little nosh places, opportunities for boat rides on the Bay, a make your own wooden boat bungalow, so much to learn and see! Make sure to give it all day! Lots do do for kids and adults. There’s a seafaring village, a working shipyard, a planetarium, national historic landmark vessels, various educational exhibits, a kids activity zone where kids can design and build a toy boat and many more!! There’s also a ‘Liberty cruise’ boat which costs $5 per person which takes guests around the Seaport for about 20 minutes. There is boat rental and sailing lessons, please call in advance and enquire about this if interested. Really fun to be able to walk onto different boats and see various artifacts from the whaling ship years! Discount admission if you have proof of being a student. $18 adult admit instead of $27! Very fun park, and a nice change from visiting a Six Flags. The food selection is decent, but the lines can be long. Ride lines don’t get too bad. Riding Boulder Dash is an absolute must do, that coaster makes the park. The park has a nice family atmosphere, and the water park is good.
This is a great amusement park featuring a unique wooden roller coaster (Boulder Dash) which is a true mountain coaster. They have rides for all ages from toddler up through the coaster enthusiasts. As part of your admission you have access to their large water park.
We stayed on property at their campground. Very clean and secure.
We had so much fun! The park is well structured, of course, lines are huge on weekends. The lazy river is so good, specially the slide. I loved the pineapple and raspberry twirl from dole.
If you have a stroller and someone will stay close to the stroller, you don’t need to pay $25 for a locker. Parking is also $30 for the day. (Same price as Disney, thought it was little pricy for CT, anyway)
Overall we had a great time, a very hot July summer day. We got a good deal $30 per person, I think it was because of the 4th of July deal.. I can’t remember.
The oldest continuously operating amusement park in the U.S. with some cool historical rides (Wildcat and the Carosel), a standout (Boulder Dash), and a unique ride (Phobia). Overall a more relaxed atmosphere compared to Six Flags: New England with a more homey feel. Less rides, not the cheapest (especially if you are paying $30 for parking, $16 minimum for a locker for the day, food, etc.), but definitely worth going at least once. The rides mentioned above are “must-do” options for any first time visit. One downside I experienced was the wait time and disorganization getting into the park (long wait, no structure lines, slow moving) but overall a good time at a park with character.
Overall great day. We got to the park just before opening and there were no lines. Park was well kept and clean. As the day went on , it got a bit busier and the bathrooms a little less clean. Lines for the rides were pretty quick. We came with teenagers and they had a good time.
Nice section of rides for smaller kids. Park food was definitely pricey and quality wasn’t the best, but I expect that from most amusement parks. I do wish they did not charge for parking. Overall great experience.
