  1. Such a cool place!! The Drive through Safari was awesome. Got up close to so many animals. The actual zoo part was really neat. Lots of shaded areas, 4 gift shops, 3 mini water parks, tons of rides for kids, paddle boat area, not to mention a entire giraffe feeding pavilion! They also have foods trucks and a huge Disney like Cafeteria. If you have kids bring them here!! ??

  2. Awesome place! My wife was here in 1969 and she was like a kid again. Obviously there are more animals and activities now. Friendly and helpful staff. Well kept, clean, and the staff is very attentive towards the animals and visitors. We stayed at the KOA RV park which was also awesome. Overall it was a great time and place. I will definitely return.

  3. Small park which can be easily completed in 2-3 hours total. The park is separated into two areas. First, the drive through safari was nice with 30 species of large animals. The drive is in the comfort of your own air-conditioned car at your own pace with two lanes offered. Second, the walk through park is nicely landscaped however several of the displays were empty and all animal feeding stations had been removed (May 2022). There is a childrens area in the back of the park which has a splash fountain. Some small rides like a carousel, paddle boats and slides. Most disappointing were the food and eating options all of which were extremely overpriced and poorly serviced. Bring your own drinks and let the kids wear their swim suits. Nice afternoon.

  4. If you love wildlife this is your spot. I have so many photos I will be able to load them all. They feed the animals near the road so you will get a close look at all the different species. After the safari is done about 1hr driving you get to go into the amusement park were they have rides and other games. Excellent stop if you are in the area.

  5. If you are in Miami or West Palm Beach, visit this great park. In the “Safari” You will have the opportunity to drive trough the different environments in your own car and enjoy different ecosystems and plenty of animals; it’s is very impressive and fun because you can watch the animals very close as they approach to the vehicles. We had a close encounter with Bulls, Giraffes and a couple of Rhinos! ?
After completing the ride, they have a great water park (included in your admission) that is the perfect place to refresh and enjoy a sunny day!

Fun park for all ages. Staff is very friendly. So many options to choose from. Concessions and gift shops are reasonable. Great place for the whole family. Only one downfall. Lines move slow. Can move much quicker getting on and off rides without compromising safety. Only utilizing one of two loading docks at a time up top while down below can give the “ok” signal much sooner to make the lines move faster.

I had a decent time over here, but it could’ve been better….
Positives: Rides were pretty fun, lots of places to sit, nice staff members
Negatives: Almost half the rides were closed due to not having enough staff members, the lazy river opened up 4 hours after the park opened up and it was more bumper tubes than lazy river, it was way too overcrowded and there weren’t enough tubes for everyone, the lines were also extremely long.

Over all I had a pretty good time!

✭✭✭ By Yaakov Goldberg (7 months ago)
Paid full price and more than 3/4 of the rides are closed down. Nothing on their website says anything about this. They only have 3 rides open and the wave pool… even lazy river is closed down! Complete waste of time and money. Absolute trash people hanging out here. Women in thongs and definitely not family appropriate place. Total garbage.

Rapids water park is an easy going water park with many slides/rides for all to enjoy. The best Bang for your buck is the season pass/wrist band and the best time to go is in the morning times, not during summer, Summertime is always packed and wait times are ridiculous, especially friday thru sunday.
No matter when we went there was always people that were rude, cut in line, and didn’t listen to employees, many were kids, but there were adults that did it too. This made it hard for my kids to have a good time too.
If you want any personal distance whatsoever this is not the place for you during there busy times, especially when it comes to standing in line. We have went many times because we live right next to it and each time has been horrible because of the people that go there except for once because we went when school had started minimizing the amount of people on that day.
When it comes to food their chicken tenders and hamburgers are good. They may not be gourmet but they are good for a water park.
This water park does have a variety of drinks such as alcohol beverages, sodas (taste like they’re supposed to), sweet tea (not very sweet), and everything else taste normal.
The shops are nicely set up with nice merchandise, the employees in shops and rides are laid back and really nice.
Overall, our experience at Rapids water park was bad due to customers and the time you have to wait in line as it is alot of waiting, but Rapids water park itself is a good waterpark to go to, to have fun and make memories if looking pass the waiting time and people.

Update on 1-3-22: I went back when it wasn’t so crowded (you were right; winter break was the reason). The animals were very active and I was able to see more of them this time. The zoo staff gives informational talks about the animals outside their enclosure which is a nice touch. I had a very pleasant experience. I will be back again

12-27-21:It’s crowded. Kinda small. Monkeys were far away on their island so couldn’t see them too well. The tiger was out so I got to see him walk by a few times. The birds and reptiles were plentiful and colorful so that was fun to see. There’s a splash pad and playground for kids to play on so that was cool. It’s was an OK zoo.

Had the best day there! Saw so many animals. My favs were the Koalas and tiger! We had lunch there as well. Best burgers ever! Friendly staff. So much to see! A definite for the kids. Will definitely go back next time I’m in Florida.

So awesome! Definitely the best zoo we’ve been to in Florida thus far. Being New Yorkers, we visit Jupiter and Singer Island a couple times a year. We’re always up for new adventures that aren’t too far away. This was an excellent zoo! We had a blast 🙂

The grounds are well maintained and the scenery is gorgeous. We went on a Monday afternoon and it was very peaceful. I grew up going to this zoo and I’m amazed at how well it’s been taken care of. Our family had a wonderful experience and we look forward to our next visit when the weather is warmer so that our daughter can play in the fountain.

I’ve been to many zoos, including a few internationally. This zoo has the most natural and architecturally interesting feel from any other zoos I’ve ever been to!

Nothing felt artificial or oppressive. Every animal seemed to be at ease and well cared for. The otters were so happy and active and the sloth (a personal favorite) was completely at ease in their “bed” taking their mid day nap.

The food prices were on par with any fast service restaurant. The alcohol and sodas were a bit high, but that’s expected with any attraction style place.

The ADA accessibility was excellent as well, even on the unpaved trails, I was able to easily navigate the surface on a manual wheelchair without assistance.

One day I hope to do an “encounter” when they don’t demand wearing a mask

Dog friendly trails. Love revisiting this place with good friends. My friend enjoyed taking pictures with her canon. Athena(my dog) enjoys running loose in the trails of the south part of Okeeheelee. Enjoyed wine during 4th of July with other friends on the dock to get dogs away from the noise. Be careful! In the evening venomous snakes(water moccasin possibly) did start swimming parallel to the dock. We left as soon as we saw one and someone else spotted another.

Great park for a lovely Saturday. It has a nice little nature center with lots of animals you can see up close . The nature center is only open Wednesday Thursday Friday and Saturday so try to visit on those days if you want to go in the nature center. This place has way more than the nature center though. It has lots of trails too And for the birders ; there are lots of bird houses and bird feeders . All in all it’s a great place for nature.

Okeeheelee is a large, beautiful public park. There are plenty of long and short hiking trails, many of which are partly shaded by tree canopies. Other activities to be enjoyed here include fishing, picnicking, horseback riding, cycling, BMX racing, and water sports such as kayaking, water skiing, and jet skis. The park is kid and pet friendly, much of it is wheelchair accessible, and there’s no fee for admission.

This park is an absolute gem. I grew up playing baseball and soccer at the sports fields. They also have a waterpark, dog park, disc golf course, golf course and numerous amounts of playgrounds for the children. Don’t miss out.

very beautiful park with a lot of outstanding features. They have an amazing set of nature trails to walk and look at nature. they also have trails where you can jog and workout, a stunning breathe taking views along with an outstanding clean park. This place has to be one of the best parks in all of Florida.

The extreme heat lately, make sure to bring enty of drinks and enjoy with the whole family.

We had the best time! The people who work there are so knowledgeable, and very sweet. We were so excited to see Manatees, they are such amazing creatures. My kids want to go back again next week!

Full disclosure I love Manatees! Didn’t get to see any but the gift shop was the best! Bought lots of goodies! Loved the variety of items. The museum portion was informative and nicely organized. Super nice kind staff. Hopefully next time will get to see some beautiful Manatee!

Ok so we had a wonderful trip to Ft Lauderdale Florida. We went to the Manatee Lagoon to see what the family has been watching online. I have to say I wasn’t thinking it was going to be great but to my surprise it was really cool seeing them. I was amazed at all of the fish in the lagoon. We even saw some Bull Sharks.
The information center was great tons of stuff related to preserving them.a great gift shop with the prices not to high. You can also make donations. Clean restrooms and the personnel working there is very knowledgeable and friendly.
I would go again, also remember that it’s seasonal meaning that if the weather is cooler it’s much more likely that you will see them in the lagoon.
The big animals can move too so don’t think
because they are big the don’t move fast.

Visited and unfortunately we didn’t see any manatees. The staff informed us there haven’t been many in the past few days other than the occasional passing by in the channel. The board shows the counts of the manatee every couple of hours. Cool place though
✭✭✭✭✭ By Mr. Jim Business (5 months ago)
So happy I discovered this place! Admission is free and they have an adorable gift shop inside as well as an upper deck to watch for manatees. I loved the live informational that was going on while we were there. Got to learn a lot about manatees and other marine creatures. Definitely recommend visiting!
