I haven’t been here in over 20 years but the kids and I enjoyed our time. Most of the animals were lively and visible. There was enough variety for the kids to enjoy the whole experience. This was their first zoo trip and there were enough places to see and it wasn’t too much of a walk for them. My son enjoyed all the dinosaurs that they put all over the zoo. Seeing him in awe over the very large scale reptiles was enough for him.By James Fong (7 months ago)This was a great smaller zoo with lots of natural flora and fauna that lines the paths and enclosures. We got there right at opening so all the animals we being fed while it was cool. Really a nice variety of animals. Lots of benches and a play area for younger kids. Our family did the Animal Ambassador along with the Hooves and Horns behind the scenes tour. Both were amazing and involved endangered animals. The tours behind the scenes are a must! Chris and Jennifer were wonderful to work with to get both tours done. Would recommend it to anyone whom has a love for animals! Tip: Order tickets ahead to save a few bucks.By Heather Poore (4 months ago)We really enjoyed our visit here. The layout was nice with lots of lush plants and trees and well designed with bathrooms and snack/drink stands conveniently placed throughout the park. It is pricey, but the gift shop had a ton of great souvenirs for the kids. They gave a train that runs every 6 minutes and a carousel with tons of animals to choose from. I did think the lion could have been given more room, that enclosure seemed really small. Overall we had a great time and right next to the zoo is fairytale land and Adventureland (I think is what it is called) so there were other fun things to do just steps away. Overall a fun filled day and our 4 year old who is obsessed with animals had a great time!By Aimee Toso (in the last week)It was a good experience. It was a nice walk to see all the animals. I especially liked looking at the Red Panda. I enjoyed watching the new kids movie about the Red Panda. All the animals look like they had a good amount of space in there living area. Good selection of food and snacks. Need more sitting benches. It was a Great day with my boyfriends family.By Glamgirl (8 months ago)This was my first time visiting the zoo and I really enjoyed it! It was a pretty hot day but seeing all of the different animals was worth it! I was surprised at the amount of diversity that this zoo had. My favorite part was seeing the giraffes. They were the cutest and the best part. It was a nice little day trip 🙂By Giselle Vargas (3 months ago)

Recently I visited park to find the pond full of the water lily blooms. I’d would not believe the beautiful and captivating scenery in front of my eyes if I was not there in person. Not sure when this pond started to have water lilies growing in it but it’s a delightful surprise gem. If you have not seen this pond, then I highly recommend you come check it out before the blooms wither away. There are still more buds to bloom so maybe another month or so to view them at their fullest?By Pam (4 months ago)I believe this park should be made more clean and more engaging. The sheep pen smells really bad and is being cleaned as visitors were sight seeing. If I hadn’t left there immediately or had stayed there a little more time, I would have been bathed with water. Not going back there .By alimi eyitayo (7 months ago)Great park with nice paved trails and duck ponds. Very well maintained and clean. The park also has a nice golf course. Also lots of shade treesBy bartellj (9 months ago)This area of Sacramento is very pretty with such big and lush trees! We have been out here a few times over the past few years of living in California and each time we have come has been so much fun. There is always tons of people but there is also so much space throughout the area that you can’t not find a nice peaceful area. This last time we actually went out to do professional family portraits with a local artist and they were great! FYI to all the Sacramento photographers…our family loved having them done there. Here are several to share!! @jacnbeephotographyBy Alicia Bustamante (10 months ago)Fun place to run. Great kids entertainment and golf. It also features unique gardens. A terrific place to explore!By Elizabeth Zima (6 months ago)

Bad impression at first: the museum is closed. All of it. The rooms, the tours, the store – shut down. This is my third capital building and the least inviting. Every door was closed. If it wasn’t for the open session and beautiful architecture, I would have been sorely disappointed. I was able to sit upstairs and listen in on the session which was a treat. I felt a measure of restored faith in humanity. They questioned finance on expenditures and voiced their concerns regarding project deadlines. All without trying to win a vote or hidden agenda. I’m not even a resident in this state, but to hear these politicians speaking up on behalf of the citizens was a breath of fresh air. If you have an hour, take the time and listen in.
Side note: they have wall display cases for each county. Some are elaborate, some a simple and some are a disaster. It’s the capital building – do better.By Jeanette (10 months ago)Clean and beautiful. I didn’t go inside as I thought I’ve been to the one in WA DC, so let’s save time for something else. However, I was awestruck by the lush green and delightfully fragrant orange trees laden with ripe fruits. They line the pathways and stand tall against the tall palms and buildings in the background. They smell lovely. The rose garden is also breathtaking, there are many varieties. Some people were there to take wedding pictures and Instagram videos, because it’s so warm, beautiful and pleasant here. There are hummingbirds hovering above the salvia bushes also. Love this lovely place!By Limitless (7 months ago)It’s free to come in to see this beautiful government building. And the view of the iconic gold bridge is magnificent. You have to drive through it to feel the best of it.By H Nguyen (2 months ago)I was there in Sunday.
Nice Place to relax and walk.
The trees are beautiful.
Very quiet place.

Haf an amazing time discovering this park. There is so much to do here.
We ate across the street on some grass. Before we walked and saw the ducks and geese. They have a rose garden that is even fun this time of year. Plus my kiddos found painted rocks
By Crystal O (9 months ago)Beautiful park with a very nice pond and gorgeous rose garden. Just very sad that there was so much garage in the grass. We picked up a huge shard of glass from a broken bottleBy Desiree Argentina (4 months ago)The rose garden here is beautiful! And I heard it was all volunteer created? Don’t quote me on that. But it was really nice to spend 15 minutes here to start the dayBy Chris Pense (7 months ago)Beautiful park. It’s got a walking / jogging path around the perimeter. The entire loop, including the section where the garden club is housed is one mile.New bathrooms, picnic facilities and playground make it a great place for picnics and play dates.
Plenty of space for games or getting away from folks.
Pond full of ducks and geese.
Rose garden is often used for weddings and photo shoots.
A gem of a park
By Steve Heard (8 months ago)A library with a very helpful librarian, a swimming pool, a very nice playground, squirrels, pigeons, geese, and ducks on a lake, a horseshoe pit, beautiful roses, ample space.By Ann 916 (5 months ago)

Sacramento CA is a world-famous tourist destination, and it’s no wonder why. Here is our list of the top 15 best place to visit in Sacramento CA – based on expert opinions and customer reviews. Did your favorite spot make the cut? Let us know in the comments above!
Great shops, Places to eat. There was a merry go round and a ferris wheel for the kids. You can take a river cruise on the Sacramento River and a train ride. There is a railroad museum and other historical museums. Lots of old buildings. Street musicians on every street. Can get very hot, check the weather before going. Some restaurants require reservations. Bathrooms are relatively clean Good family outing.
If you like historical places than this should be on your bucket list of places to visit.
From the raised wooden sidewalks to the train station you can feel the old west is still alive here. This place does not hide it’s history and that is a much welcome thing to see.
Make sure you visit the Lady Adams Building while you are there. It is home to one of the best costume shops named Evangeline’s Costume Mansion that I have ever set foot in. They have everything you could ask for in a costume shop. The prices are very reasonable too.
Overall I give Old Sacramento a solid 10/10.
Great place to spend time with family. The Delta King Ship Hotel was beautiful to view at night. At the same time somehow it looks creepy. Feeling like a walk on the Titanic. The Ferrys Wheel is functional and it did not take much time to wait on the queue line. We would definitely go back here on a sunny day to experience more wonderful views. Beware a lot a pot smokers around???
FUN! Where do I start?! Perfect place to bring kids, Perfect place to have a romantic Date, Perfect place to get rowdy with your friends! Something for Everyone! Candy Stores, Bars, Gift Shops, Tattoo parlors, Carnival Rides, Etc. The Star Attraction is the Railroad Museum which features EVERYTHING TRAIN! Parking is NOT free and can get VERY crowded on weekends. Go Early in the morning like I did and you will have the place to yourself
My family and I have visited Sacramento several times but this was our first to the waterfront and it was worth the visit. We we were able to actually go on board and walk around the Delta King Riverboat Hotel. We visited the theater, museum, peered into banquet and meeting rooms, and walked around the deck. It’s a beautifully restored historical boat and worth the visit. The waterfront is nice with amazing views of Sacramento and right next to the downtown historical district. When you visit, do so in the morning and late afternoon (before 1 pm, and 4 pm and later) as the sun is intense and hot. Between November – February you could probably visit anytime because temperatures will be cooler, but keep in mind the sun will still be intense.
