The cuddly toys in the crane grabber arcade games are one of the few giveaways that you haven’t time travelled back to the mid 1970s when you visit this pier. Baby yodas and Clifford the big red dog gaze at you pleadingly, hoping for escape.
Don’t look at the carpet.

It was busy with the amusements but not that it impacted us. Went for a pint in the pub and it literally was the worst Guinness I’ve ever tasted. Couldn’t finish it. It was tasteless. There was music playing and a guy getting kids up dancing to keep them entertained but it was just too noisy, the floor and tables were sticky so we moved outside and sat on the seating. Celebrating a birthday alone and far away from family I was a little moody and using the rides to try and perk myself up. His cheeky humour made me smile properly for the first time that day. I enjoyed the arcade, the other rides (the most terrifying being alone on the ferris wheel) and all the staff were so friendly and engaging. Pier itself closed out of season for maintenance, yet the amusements still open. Absolutely amazing place. We’ve been here about four times already and it’s wonderful. You’ve got toilets and loads of parking spaces. The beach is wow and the sand is super fine and soft. Its quite but really accessible from the carpark which is 90p for an hour. Their are steps to get down to the beach.
It’s dog friendly. after September till May all day. In the summer, only before 8am and after 6pm.
When low tide the sea is a good walk away nut the sand is flat and you can walk all the way out.
Definitely a lovely way to spend a few hours but wellies are a good idea
The pier is home to multiple businesses that sell food ans drinks.

The sea was really far out so we got to enjoy a lot of space before we reached the sea. There were lots of poo bins dotted around the edge of the beach too which was good. The areas that allow dogs is also clean and I’ve majority of people keep their dogs on leads or the dogs stay with their owners. We bring the grandchildren and they love coming with their bikes, kites and bucket/spade. Lovely place. The arcade and the shops around make the place very happy and lively. There were many seagulls around and dogs by the beach! also some horses on the main road.. I’d never been in North pier, it was late in the evening but the carousel is gorgeous and there’s a little motortrain that drives to the end of the pier and back. Closer to the Pleasure Beach, this pier has a few more amusements than the other two. Lovely views towards Blackpool Tower and the Pepsi Max. Some mad flying bungee thing that has you swinging over the sea and across the pier – no chance! Amusement arcade available as with the other piers. If it were me, I’d stick to the North Pier as it’s much quieter and peaceful.By The Travelling Camera (3 months ago)During the Christmas holidays I went to visit Blackpool, after a few days in the Lake District and really enjoyed the few hours I spent at The South Pier!
At the time it did take a while to get through the traffic & finding a parking space, after all it was definitely worth the wait. The walk across the Promenade was great and the weather couldn’t have been any perfect on a cold afternoon in December. It was pleasant to see how clean the beach was and an enjoyable atmosphere to take in.
I was hoping to have gone up the Blackpool Tower, but that will wait until another visit and overall really made the most of the walk. Having watched the trams go by was something unique to admire, and as well there being a murmuration of starlings whirling around the skies in a big group during the moments of sunset!
Once it got dark, the infamous Blackpool Lights shone so brightly and that was probably the best display of lights I have seen.

Decided to go last minute one eve so took the hour and half drive to Blackpool and arrived at 8pm. Managed to park directly opposite the pier and parking was free and not time restricted from 8pm so that was an added bonus. As expected, there were plenty of traditional amusements, arcades and 2 of our party braved a ride on the bunji ball. Rode The Waltzer, Spinning Cars and The Crazy Roller Coaster at the end of the pier and finished off with a few attempts to win teddy bears at the shootout stalls and on the arcade grabber games but as is always the case, came home skint and empty handed! Definitely worth it. As this was introduction to theme park rides, I can say this park as an assortment of rides that will offer you value for your money. There are rides for families and children and older people to share together. Well they must offer value for money if they have been here for 125 years right??🤔😊 Enjoy!!!
Crazy games. Many of the rides here are very old but the do the job. You will hear cracking noises all the time from the rides but they still work fine. I was terrified as I was riding most of them as it was my first time in the park.
I would go again with my friends. There are not many thematic activities or cartoon characters but there is an area for little kids.
There is Burger King and other places to get food/drinks from.
What really puts me off is that there was a lady who is a little on the bigger size and she couldn’t get on one of the rides. But I saw the same lady getting on other rides. So I guess there should be bigger seats to accommodate everyone. Also, few of the rides, you have to climb stairs which means if someone has a disability or on a wheel chair may not be able to get on them.😒
I am sure the park management could do a lot more to be more inclusive.
First time at a theme park and the pleasure beach offered a truly great experience. All the rides were unique in their own way, and most (newer ones) were very thrilling and smooth.
Place was kept very clean and all the staff were nice and friendly.
Good value for the price – a set price and was able to go on any ride and amount of times. The app helped knowing the length of waiting times.
Plenty of food and drink at reasonable prices. Including some gift shops scattered around.
Overall, the pleasure beach was an amazing experience and I would certainly be going again.
A true definition of fun, thrill and amusement. A gigantic ride on park that gets adrenaline pumping. Games, merry go rounds, super high speed roller coasters, boat cruise, tower lift, good meals, all sorts of fun games and rides.
The place is well situated, very neat and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The ticket takes you in and you can use it for all the rides. Safety is paramount as little kids are subjected to height measurement before using certain rides.
A true value for the money. Kids love it so much. I will definitely recommend to family and friends and return back some other time.

Really fun day out. Pretty good value compared to some competitors, especially the food and drinks which are pretty reasonable prices by theme park standards.
Really needs more seating, especially near food outlets. Also some more shaded areas for hot days.
Some areas are a bit scruffy, but the rides are world class. Staff are really friendly.
