Nice long sandy beach, not too crowded.
If you are coming from the Southbourne Beach Car park it’s better to bring your own food and drinks as the nearest cafes are a long walk. Experience sand and sea for the first time.
Was a lovely day. There was a outside shower to spray water off feet etc.Parking – on street parking. Wasn’t busy. So free. Small car park near by. Didn’t use it.

There is a pay and display car park by “the bistro on the beach” as well as on road free parking if you’re early enough. A nice promenade to walk along that takes you through to Boscombe and Bournemouth if you’re feeling fit. The sand was also clean and most of the area was without stones.I personally struggled find a parking spot but probably because I was late. 1 hour no return wasn’t bad.
I must recommend specially for Children and Family.

You park up on the road & take the zig zag path down.
There are Life Guards on patrol during the day, there is a refreshment hut though it annoyingly takes contactless only!!!
There are also toilets & a shower.

Very active beach this morning. Great open area to visit for the day, have a walk or take the dogs. We brought a coffee and enjoyed the view. If you’re local like us, go out of hours. Can be a nightmare in the summer so we go at 6am for a morning swim or 8pm for an evening.
Parking is limited in peak hours and days but it has all the necessary facilities.

Such a lovely beach, dogs welcome and plenty of space to set up as it wasn’t very busy at all.
The sea and sand was much nicer than some busier beaches. Unfortunately the only shop we saw wasn’t open on the day we visited but the restaurant was!

Medium crowded beach with a nice scenic view. The beach huts look pretty. Lots of rides are for kids as well as adults to enjoy. But exclude everything you can just sit besides the sea & enjoy your precious time. Friday nights throughout the summer they offer a free firework display and allow you to BBQ on the beach after 6pm. So many fish & chips places near the Eye, unfortunately they close early around 6 pm on Sundays or weekdays. It’s a pleasure walking the coastline, the beach and then going to the park to see the beautiful Victorian architecture and be surprise by the magical genius that helped plan this beautiful, quaint town. Really nice environment! Great walk along the beach! Full of dogs and families it’s a great place to go for an afternoon stroll. It kinda resembles a wannabe Santa Monica pier 😂 it gives American vibes! My dog enjoyed the pup ice cream and the sunshine and sand!
Awesome place to be in summers in UK – perhaps the only place where you can get in the water and swim across. Life is beautiful in this part of the world and you can enjoy the full day if not more at this place. Happening place for beach lovers. Lots of things to do in this place.
Nice place to run. Seagulls dragging plastic bags and other stuff from the bins around. You can meet dozen of people with metal detector in the morning on the beach. Nice place for exercises till the actual gym opens around 6:30am. It’s gets super busy during the day time. I would recommend to avoid visiting this, there are nicer places in half an hour walk distance
The beach surrounding this beach is beautiful but pretty much everything was closed.
We paid to go on the pier and wasn’t advised that the rides on the other side was closed.
I’m sure it would be a fun place for the family If things were open.
Walked from Shell Bay to Bournemouth pier. So it’s nice to find the eatery on the pier is pretty good and provides timely service and good food options. There is a ride at the end of the pier, but as this was out of season, this was closed. Ice cream was expensive as this is the main attraction on the Bournemouth beach.
