5 Replies to Cromer’s Best Kept Secrets: The Top 12 Beaches

  1. First time there and won’t be the last. It’s such a nice seaside town, that is NOT overly touristy, which surprised us. We had such a great time walking on the pier, seeing the RNLI launch, watching all the kids and adults crabbing from the pier, walking on the beach, etc. It was a great day. Very highly recommend.

  2. As all UK seaside towns. Some buildings require some attention due to looking run down. Some shops and cafes have made a lot of effort to maintain there premises. The beach goes on and on. And is ideal for families and walking the dogs. The pier has a life boat station at the end.

  3. Long stretch of beach that gets crowded in the afternoon. There are chalet huts along the beach. Water wasn’t too clean and clear. Temperature was nice for a hot summer day. There are bathing stations and toilets too. We saw some goats on the side as we walked down the stairs to the beach which was quite unusual.

  4. Cromer is actually a fairly nice little sea side parish, with decent stores, great sandy beaches ( that often have life guards on duty ) and isn’t all that busy. It would be good to have a few showers dotted around but otherwise there are really no complaints. The waves are decent enough to have a little surf too. Recommended.

  5. Visited on the Sunday before bank holiday weekend. Busy but not awful. Lovely beach, lovely views, lots of shops and sweet shops selling the best old fashioned sweets. Lovely fish and chips.

One of my favourite beaches, absolutely beautiful. We arrived late afternoon so watched the sun go down after a meal in the Trawler. Can’t wait to come back here. Lovely quaint town. Perfect.

Nice place to walk along the coastline. It was quite windy when I visited the beach, but I reckon it would be nicer if the weather was better. There are many restaurants nearby with lots of charity shops between the train station and the beach

Lovely stretch of beach, pebbly mainly but when the tide went out, it was sandy. We went towards the end of August, so not too busy. In the nearby town there are plenty of shops and places to visit. I would come again.

Its a steep walk down to the pier , so can be a bit of a struggle with a pushchair / wheelchair .
There is a cafe , pub and gift shop , free toilets and the life boat station at the very end ( please give a donation as the R.N.L.I do rely on charity ) .
Always plenty of people crabbing and fishing from the pier and some nice seating booths to keep you out of the wind 👍

Beautiful! So well kept. Lovely restaurant and theatre on the pier. Lots of seating area. Nice to eat a cromer fish and chips on! Can go crabbing off the pier, which always results in a catch with patience. But please remember to throw the crab back into the sea, and dispose or take your grabbing equipment away with you.

Nice place to sit and watch the sea/ beach and go crabbing. The restaurant was unfortunately closed on a busy warm Sunday which was a shame. Facilities were great, dog friendly and wheelchair accessible!

Lovely place to spend a morning / afternoon.

We enjoyed crabbing off of the edge of the pier (highly recommend using sardines as bait!)

The bathroom facilities were easily accessible and clean.

Very very busy today lots of people coming and going. Also extremely blustery conditions. Toilets and baby changing facilities just at entrance to pier clean and accessible. The theatre is positioned at the end of the wooden pier. Seating at each side to take the weight off your feet in nicer weather.

Great walk along beach, then climb up a lot of steps – had to stop for breath a couple of times. Views from top coastal path . Wish I’d come earlier in week for stunning sunsets! Today mist coming in from the sea. Could do same walk across top without the steep climb from Hotel de Paris.

Nice park and green space at the top of the cliffs – there’s a little boating lake and cafe, plus a boardwalk with a little play area attached.

We love going to this beach just a short distance from Cromer. Good car park (pay and display 8am-6pm) with toilets and a seating area. Short walk down the ramp onto the beach! Excellent for taking the dogs. When the tide is out, lovely sandy beach that stretches all the way to Cromer. Great beach for all the family.
Will’s fish and chips in East Runton are excellent but be prepared to queue!!

Fantastic beach full of lovely stones and fossils. Try to go at low tide to see some amazing rock formations. Be careful of the cliffs – there are regular rockfalls and collapses. The car park is great with a clean and well maintained public toilet.

Lovely beach at East Runton. A car park and toilets are available at the top of the slope, which is a bit steep. There is also an ice cream van in the car park most days. A local shop and a chip shop are within walking distance of the beach. Wide stretches of sand. Can be a bit rocky when the tide goes out and boy does it go out. Highly recommend the beach. There is a dog bin available. Please take your rubbish with you when you leave and not leave it on the beach. Rubbish bin available in the carpark

Lovely beach with life guards. A bit rocky in places, but not too bad. Car park isn’t massive but walking distance from a lot of local camp sites. Shop, pub and public toilets right by the car park
