  1. I have lived in Delaware 30 years and even though I knew it existed I never been here until just this month, day trip. First of all parking is not expensive if you live in the state. Might be few dollars more if you are from another state. The map of the park is little difficult to understand. Had to ask people which direction was the Fort Miles museum. The Cannons and military truck was neat. Not much to see in museum as thought there would be. The observation tower was closed so could not go inside. After this we headed to other side of park and went in nature center. That was like a mini aquarium with a hands on experience too. Kids liked it. Then we went to the beach area I guess there are a few entrances to the beach but we took one closest to light house in distance. The sand ramp to the beach was a hard walk especially for us not used to walking thru sand on a hot day with medical issues like asthma. Some older couples had to stop and catch breath too. Once we got to a area to set stuff down we wanted nothing but to head for ocean. That was great except for a couple jelly fish and crabs?? Pinching our toes ouch! The beach was not really crowded maybe 30 families spread out. At one point my daughter and I were only ones in Ocean for miles. Thought that was weird and cool at same time. Could see dolphins out deep. If there was a route to lighthouse other than by boat we didn’t see it. Over all had great time.

  2. Beautiful park with an awesome borrow-a-bike program! The museum is very well kept and the nature center is filled with cool information! I definitely suggest stopping by the pier for the view of the coast and the Lewes-Cape May ferry. The beach was much less crowded than Rehoboth and stretched for quite a ways. There are multiple places to get a great view of the whole beach and the ocean. If you enjoy the beach, hiking trails, and nature, then this park is for you.

  3. Awesome place to visit, plenty of activities, separate areas for swimming and fishing, plus beautiful view of a lighthouse. Only thing I had an issue with was that the stores were not open except on weekends only at the time of my visit. But was able to see the hawks, deer, and wild turkeys.

  4. Park is beautifully maintained by volunteers. It has a great historical Fort Miles Museum. The trails are great for biking or hiking. The Ocean views , dunes, and beach areas are well maintained with beautiful views. There is also an observation tower with spectacular Ocean views.

  5. Great park with lots to do for just $10 if you visit from out of state. We visited during off season during the first weekend of October.

We enjoyed visiting the Nature Center, which is a small room with 5 different fish aquariums and a small touch tank, which is nice for the kids. We were just a few minutes too late to partake in the borrow a bike program, but it’s a great program that allows you to take a bike for free and ride the trails around the park. We visited the beach area, which has a convenient bath house and lots of space to stretch out along the sand.

There’s sightseeing to enjoy- lighthouses, wildlife, and gorgeous water views. We definitely recommended climbing the observation tower to take in the sights. For a fun activity, count the number of stairs as you climb to the top! How many stairs did you count?

There’s also an area to drive out on the beach for vehicles that are approved to do so, kayaks, and a military museum.

Definitely worth the trip in the summer or the off season.

My wife and I have been taking our kids here for years and they love it . My wife went here when she was a kid with her family and now we are picking up the same tradition. Nice beach never packed and always have parking. My boys love it . I would recommend this place to everyone. Great beach to take your family and can feel save and enjoy yourself.
Parking is $1.50 for 30 minutes and beach is open until 8pm

We love this beach and the smoothness of the bay water. The lifeguards are great and everyone was very helpful when my 4 year old was stung by jellyfish, which made me so much more capable of helping him feel better. They had a big mat anchored in the water and it gave loads of entertainment for the kids. We will continue returning. Just watch out for the ticket happy parking attendants, and definitely come early(before 10:30am) or wait until later ( after 1pm) to find parking on the weekends.

This beach is family friendly and great for little ones. My youngest who just turned 7 could go in the waves and play. They were not to ruff for him. The sand was soft to walk through. You do have to pay to park in the parking lot. However, there are bathrooms and in door showers. We also saw out door showers and heard that there was a snack bar near by. Overall, we had a really great experience.

Great family beach! Especially for people with younger kids. The waves are almost nonexistent and depending on when you go the water isn’t freezing. My family and I love this beach and will continue to go every year as long as we are able to.

We had a wonderful time on the Fourth of July visiting for the parade and watching the fireworks from the beach. The parking lot was pretty full as one would expect, but walking a few blocks wasn’t an issue. The water on the beach seemed to be calmer than some of the beaches farther south. The beach was also not nearly as crowded as Rehoboth. This was our first time to Lewes beach, and we’ll definitely be back again!

Bethany beach is really cool. While the waves are not what i would call surfable the area is really beautiful and relaxing. I highly recommend getting up early to see the sunrise over the ocean. It’s beautiful! It was a really nice treat compared to the sunsets we get on the west coast.

Bethany beach has a very small boardwalk. The beach is lovely but if you want to enjoy tourist type boardwalk shops and restaurants then drive to Ocean City MD which has a very lively boardwalk. This is a quiet beach and parking was easily available right in front of the boardwalk. Really a beautiful beach!

I love this quaint little boardwalk. The Thrasher’s has gluten free chicken tenders and fries, among other things. There’s a few spots to rinse your feet on the boardwalk. There are plenty of cute shops like Bethany Surf Shop, Bethany Beach Books, Tropicana Swimwear and more. Don’t forget to pick up a bucket of Fisher’s Popcorn before you head out! And always arrive early to get a valid parking spot and don’t forget to pay .

I have been spending summers in Bethany Beach for 40+ years. It’s a great family friendly town. It’s not as quiet as it used to be but it’s still small and slow enough to retain its charm.

This small boardwalk is packed with shops, but they’re not lining it, they’re in buildings on either side of the entrance. The whole area is awesome, with some great shopping and food. Live entertainment on summer evenings is generally excellent – I haven’t heard a bad band there yet – and there are plenty of restrooms. In the morning, there are yoga classes to greet the sunrise. Parking sucks and is expensive. Just a few streets south of the main entrance there are free street parking spots, though, which might save you enough money over your trip to maybe get that tattoo you’ve been thinking about. Try the donuts – get there early – the crepes and stroll the boardwalk and surrounding town center area. It’s a quiet, yet vibrant place that we return to as often as we can

Great place to enjoy your 4×4 and fish. Spend a night around bonfire with friends. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset ? just get some sprays from flies, they bite hard! And please make sure to clean up after yourself. Keep our beaches clean!

A nice beach with plenty of lifeguards. There is a refreshment Cafe, bathrooms, and outside showers to rinse off sand. There is steps to the beach along with a ramp as well. Beach wheelchairs are available. The sand is not compacted like Bethany Beach. Beach chairs are able to be rented for $5 and and $12 for a beach umbrella; both chairs and umbrellas are well-built. Parking costs $5 for In-State and $10 for Out-State.

Beautiful State Park on the beach where dogs are allowed! The beach is clean and the Park Ranger was such a pleasant and welcoming guy. He was happy to tell us the Park has a portion that is Dog-Friendly.The restrooms were clean and super well kept

Great day on the beach with out furbaby Jasmine. This was her first beach day and wasn’t disappointed. Had a great day meeting new furry friends and people. She was completely wiped out by the end of our day. Would definitely recommend to anyone who considers their furbaby a part of the family!

Wonderful break from the rest of the world. Well taken care of, good signage to find what you’re looking for within the park. Beautiful disc golf course with great upkeep. Plenty of great picnic tables and great walking trails.

Bellevue is always a pleasure to visit. Our toddler loves playing in the swings and slides at the park. The magnificent horses are added attractions to our toddler. She always insists on visiting the stables and loves looking at the horses. We enjoyed the stroller friendly paths inside the park. In addition there’s a small pond with a few turtles chilling on the shores.
We definitely recommend this place for folks who would want to spend their weekends with toddlers and keep them engaged.

Very peaceful beautiful location. We had the Pleasure of setting up for a birthday party in this park. After learning about the directions of the pavilions then I appreciated the beautiful landscape.

There is a serenity to wandering freely through the well-kept remains of an extremely wealthy man’s estate. An estate vast enough to train one’s horses on a private track and to provide a venue for the U.S. Tennis Open — pleasant ways to indulge your interests. Historically, Willie duPont’s wealth was part of a fortune that is an important of Delaware’s history and you can feel that too, if you try, even while fishing, jogging, watching deer, or playing disc golf.
