  1. Had a wonderful afternoon here with our 11 and 6 year Olds. We flew a kite, walked the beautiful beach, enjoyed climbing the rocks and took gorgeous shots of the marsh. We’ve been coming here for many years and I never tire of the park. Easy parking.

  2. Love Reed State Park!! Nice clean place. Lots of areas to grill just bring charcoal. There are also a lot of picnic tables.
Very large place 1 mile beach also a 1/2 mile beach. Restrooms are also available to the public, handicap ♿️ accabale. I am grateful for this beautiful place. ? ???

  3. Wonderful beach park with plenty of space to walk around on trail and sand. The summertime is insane though with the traffic of tourists. We live about 20 miles from here and even with arriving as soon as they open there’s a bit of a crowd. Don’t bother trying to get in past noon, or be prepared to wait in a LONG line of cars. It’s a lot better in the fall and winter in terms of traffic. Still beautiful no matter the season.

  4. This is a primier state park combining woodland trails, sand beach, and desolate rocky coast. Parking is limited, as at all state parks but the walk in is worth it. Grest views are punctuated with plenty of picnic tables, benches, and cookout grills. There are outhouses near the entrance and much of the park is wheelchair/handicap accessible. Rocky areas will challenge even most agile visitors and are managed with wheelchair friendly scenic overlooks. Kids will love the many tide pools. Everyone loves the beach. If you only visit one park this year. Reid would be a great choice. EDIT 5/14/22: park is open in off-season mode but parking lots fill fast. Rest rooms near beach are closed though potties are available at far side of parking lot with long lines outside. Water remains dangerously cold and swimming not suggested (fresh water ice out was less than a month ago ). NO LIFE GUARDS ON DUTY. That said we had a great day here today and look forward to official start of summer park season after Memorial Day with return of full services. Kudos to hard working park staff for keeping this great beach open and safe during the off season so use locals can beat the record setting heat this weekend!

  5. Great beach and rocky shores. Picnic tables with shade. A bathroom and place to rinse off. The water is cold but it’s nice.

This was a beautiful park. Ample parking, clean restrooms and gorgeous view!! Such a beautiful sight to see, there is an island off of the coast and being able to see the trees on it made for such a beautiful picture. Plenty of coast to walk along. We went all the way to the larger rocks to the right on the beach and climbed up them, if you are able to do so please do it. You will not regret the power of the wind in your face and the stunning views from up there. It can be very slippery in some places so please use your best judgment! Recommend to anyone in the area looking for a place to picnic, walk or just meditate in the ocean air for awhile.

This beach was a wonderful experience with nice sand, smooth rocks, family friendly, and not crowded. My family especially enjoyed the LL Bean beach box with borrow-able beach supplies! Food available for purchase and nice changing rooms are available as well.

The seagulls will try to steal your small stuff. My daughter had a bag of shells she had been collecting and my son ended up chasing down the bird and got it back.

Nice beach with plenty of parking. The best feature is the LL BEAN BEACH BOX. Inside this large walk in storage shed is all one would need at the beach: Umbrella, chair, beach toys-all free to borrow.
Large beach with plenty of room for the family.

Very nice beach. Very family oriented. Lots of parking. Bathrooms, showers, changing rooms adequately sized. A little rocky at some parts but it didn’t bother us at all.

This beautiful state park was a pleasure to visit on a cool summer day. Mid-Atlantic beaches (closer to our home) just can’t compete with New England beaches like this. I hope we can come back some day.

Amazing beach. It’ll be crowded and the water will be freezing but a beautiful view and some of the best waves. Fun climbing spot on the right as well. Parking will be a nightmare so have patience when heading in or prepare for a longer walk.

Best combination of white sand, beautiful rock formations and pine trees!! ❤️ we went in August and it’s crowded and water is freezzziinnggg! We enjoyed it nevertheless! The parking lot is full so we have to find parking in the side of the street, even the street is so full we have to park like a mile away, the views were beautiful and not so bad of a trek. So you can combine nature hike then end in the beach ?

Only beach in acadia national forest. Great place to enjoy the warm sun and cold waters of the atlantic. The sand here is unique because 70% of it is ground sea shells. Small beach and usually pretty crowded. It has a overlookpoint on the right for which you need to get through some rocks. Getting a place to park can be a challenge during busy weekends. The parking lot is usually full and people park along the park loop road as well and walk down to the beach. There are restrooms and changing rooms here as well. Must visit spot in acadia.

This is the beautiful beach next to Beehive summit trail, we can relax at this beach after hike, it’s always crowded.

A pretty beach with unique views, but it was a little small and crowded. The sand felt great, but it descends sharply into the surf and creates a strong current going back out into the cove – so watch your kids closely! We went mid-week, just before the season really got going and it was hard to get photos without including the crowd along the beach, but it was enjoyable nonetheless!

Ok reading about this place at first I thought too good to be as advertised. First impression was wow nice parking for handicap and regular. Bathrooms were very nice and open during all warmer weather.

The path down to beach is very accessible for any wheelchair. Not crowded clean area with a lifeguard stand ( wasn’t used while I was here)

Many seashells for kids to collect benches to sit on AAA rating from me.

Only thing I did see was a very strong riptide but as a seasoned beach goer I know those can happen anywhere. Just keep your eyes peeled.

This is a great place to come by yourself, with a friend, bring your family or take your pet for a walk! *Just, please, pick up after your dog!* There are many walking trails, all clearly marked and labeled for easy access and the novice trail walker. Also, they offer picnic tables, restrooms and beach access during the on-season. Even when the gate is down; people are still welcome to walk the trails at their leisure! Park workers and volunteers kindly ask that you pick up after yourself when using the Park Grounds. Enjoy! *Pictures were taken from Google Images, they are not my photos!*

Nice place to go when you want a little more space on the beach, especially on the weekends. It’s always far less crowded here and easy to find a good spot close to the entrance. Outhouses and showers are conveniently located near the parking lots. I like the pathways and looking at the vegetation as you head towards the beach. Horseflys (or green heads as I’ve heard them called), can be a pain so bring bug spray. There are very small waves here so you’ll probably want to leave the boogie board at home.

Price is per person, not per car, which can be a bit steep if you’ve got multiple people with you. Bathrooms were clean and I frequently saw an employee walking the beach to collect trash.

We arrived around 10 am on a July Sunday and the beach was still fairly quiet. It definitely picked up by noon, but everyone was respectful – no blasting music, no screaming kids. I’d go again!

Pretty little beach in a larger park with great views. Family, dog, elderly friendly with easy parking and benches, grassy areas for playing and picnicking, as well as great stretches of natural beach and rocky shoreline for exploring or launching small water craft.

Beautiful beach and a great spot to swim and relax in the water! There is quite q lot of seaweed washed up, so not beautiful manicured white sands, but usually quiet and always beautiful views. Just have to watch out for the seagulls who will rummage through your bag for any snacks they can find!

Beautiful views, great tide pools, lots of shells and cool creatures to look at! Not a crazy busy beach- admission was $4/adult non-resident and $1/kid 5 and under.
✭✭✭✭✭ By Katie Hall (3 months ago)
Beautiful jaunt along the beach and small trail that connects to a lightly trafficked road that you can use to loop back to the parking lot. Even in the winter the views are spectacular.
