As all UK seaside towns. Some buildings require some attention due to looking run down. Some shops and cafes have made a lot of effort to maintain there premises. The beach goes on and on. And is ideal for families and walking the dogs. Temperature was nice for a hot summer day. There are bathing stations and toilets too. It’s such a nice seaside town, that is NOT overly touristy, which surprised us. We had such a great time walking on the pier, seeing the RNLI launch, watching all the kids and adults crabbing from the pier, walking on the beach, etc. It was a great day. One of my favourite beaches, absolutely beautiful. We arrived late afternoon so watched the sun go down after a meal in the Trawler. Can’t wait to come back here. Lovely quaint town. I adore this place. The beach is clean and sandy, and the sea air lifts the soul!
The surrounding area is not like Yarmouth with lots to do, so it won’t appeal to everyone. But that is reason alone for it to appeal to some.
The space around the beach is plentiful, with a park for the children, a boating lake and a hilltop golf club (for members).
There are a few cafes and restaurants, a few hotels and some very small arcades.
Inland, it’s a small town with the usual facilities and shops, not really seasidy, meant for residents.

The beach itself is lovely with a wide sandy section which becomes more pebbly as you approach the low tide mark. Life guards are stationed there with the flags showing safe swimming areas. Toilets are nearby and a place to wash your feet. Cafe nearby. There is also a splash pad for kids to play in. Beautiful beach all year round.
Can get very busy in the summer holidays. Not much there in the way of shops etc but there is a great kiosk where you can grab hot or cold refreshments.
Dog friendly and the beach is nice and wide (if you get the tide right) so you can walk along with no fear of disturbing others.

There is a small ship wreck, worth visiting. Make sure you move back to shore before the tide starts to returnBy emilia Rudz (6 months ago)Outstanding National Trust Beach with substantial pay and display parking at the end of the approach road opposite the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club. Miles of flat, firm sandy beach to walk in either east or west direction. The beach is backed by substantial dunes and the Gilf Course as well as wetlands. The beach is great for dog walking and seems safe for children under supervision. There is a takeaway cafe at the entrance to the car park but it’s not always open and the golf club is members only (haven’t they missed a commercialopportunity!), so take your own refreshments.By James M (9 months ago)Check tide times if needing to use carpark as road floods and becomes impassable.

Even though it was the middle of February and pretty chilly, we still love Great Yarmouth ♥ it’s a lovely place for a winters stroll along the beach, and good to see its still very clean and well looked after. Nice to see the money being invested along the front also. Many places were closed when we were there obviously…but that in turn reduces the people and at times we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves!
Lovely to see the lights were left on at night so even though it was very quiet it looked pretty in the dark too.
Having been here since I was a child and I have to say I was surprised with how good it is. The beach is in pretty good shape and it’s huge so loads of room for this time of year (April). Loads down the sea front with fairs and arcades, shops, chips (proper seaside chips) and cakes, ice cream etc. The fairs are a blast especially for kids and there is about 4 of them not just the main pleasure beach. There was a model village too, which we didn’t visit in the end. All in all it was an easy day out visit the shops then onto the beach, chips, ice cream. Big smiles. I also flew a kite which at 37 was a first for me… Was totally sweet!
Great day out with children. Lots to do from fan fair, crazy golf, horse carriage ride, donkey ride to sun bathing at a nice sandy beach. We didn’t have time to go but the recently built leisure centre with water slides looked great.
There were relatively many public toilets along the parade.
Getting a parking space may need a patient but people are always moving in and out and found a space not too long.
Neighbouring beaches are also great to visit, too.
It was a wonderful experience being at Great Yarmouth. This place has multiple beaches and we have been to “Pleasure Beach” and it’s a really good pleasure to be visiting this beach. The place is very lively and you have a lot of things to do. For example Casinos, Train Ride, Horse Ride, street food, local shopping, Marine Drive….,1 day is really not sufficient to visit completely. I recommend you to have at least a 2 day plan if you visit Great Yarmouth. The only problem is to find the car PARKING. We had a really tough time finding the car parking and after a lot of searching we found some place and it was very expressive. For a full day it’s about 31 Pounds and it’s very huge…
Nice long beach. The whole place was very clean but I did go in October so wasn’t that busy. A lot of attractions where closed only opened at weekends before the season finishes but there’s still plenty to do without the crowds,Tony’s chippy had the best fish I’ve had in a long while plus its £4 cheaper than Harry Ramsden.
