  1. A must do it in Aberystwyth. The views from the top are spectacular, on a clear day, you can really see for miles.
Nice cafe/bar at the top, great place to sit and enjoy a cream tea.
I would have rode up and walked back down if I had realised how good the trip back down would be, oh well, next time perhaps.

  2. Loved it! We were lucky enough to get a parking space outside the entrance. There are not many spaces and the rest park on streets leading up to it.
We took our dog on no problem and no charge.
It’s a great view going up, you can stand on the end for the best view or sit inside further back, still a great view.
There is a little gap between the carriage and the platform and some big steps that might be a little awkward for disabled people to navigate.
At the top is a brilliant view, you can rest at a nice cafe or walk a little bit up to a gift shop, viewing tower and Frisbee game thing. There is also a little bowling alley near the cafe.
We were lucky enough to see 4 RAF planes circle across the mountains and the sea whilst we were up there.
The food from the cafe was lovely, easy to order from an app too.
You can walk down or like us just get a return ticket (£6.50 each Adult) and go to the train when you are ready, we didn’t wait more than a couple minutes to go up or down.
I would highly recommend a visit here. It just might be worth using the park and ride if you want to visit the rest of Aberystwyth whilst you’re there, parking after we went here was impossible on the sea front.

  3. Enjoyed our little trip up and down the cliff for a small price of just over £10 for the 2 of us. Great views of the Bay from above. Which have also entertainment places for young ones like bowling crazy golf. Camera obscure and gift shop also cafe and toilets. The ride itself only takes a couple of minutes. Worth the visit ideal for everyone

  4. The view is amazing! Quite a touristy spot that the wait time could be long. It was a fun experience and to see the beach and the harbor area from the high point. They are dog friendly, so nice to see dogs are allowed in the train ride. There’s a cafe up there. Enjoyed the spot and views very much!

  5. Lovely little trip out. wheelchair and buggy accessible. The staff are very helpful. You Can purchase a one way ticket and walk back down, which is lovely if able to do so. Very nice cafe at the top, fairly reasonably priced. Stunning views. Can take your dogs.

Looks nice the rest of the castle. It is free, and you have an fantastic view from there. There is parking in front “ inside the church” nice to walk around.

Aberystwyth Castle grounds are free to access and is located right on the sea front, it’s an impressive castle ruins and well worth a visit while strolling the sea front.

We spent around 30 min pottering around before moving into the town centre. You can take dogs with you and is an ideal spot for a picnic.

We stopped along the marine drive in Aberystwyth and took the dogs for a walk on the beach.
Parking was limited but available. The public toilets are conveniently placed next to the castle ruins and a bit back from the road. You need 20p to get in and they are well kept and clean.
Amazing stone work on the castle ruins and the war memorial is a must see.

What an absolute amazing castle ruins, I spent a good hour exploring the ruins, taking photos and videos, plus had a lovely walk along the promenade right down to the harbour watching the waves crash into the rocks was awesome, well worth a visit if you’re in Aberystwyth 😊😊 hope you enjoy the photos guys

🏰 While closely watched and maintained by the National Heritage “The Castle” is an iconic meeting place for Aberystwyth University students.

🧑‍🎓 I was lucky to live in Aberystwyth during my under and postgraduate studies and this historical landmark always offered solitude and a go-to place to show whoever was visiting.

🚶 The Castle Grounds overlook the seafront parade which span all the way down to the feet of another local landmark – Constitution Hill. This makes for am amazing walk.

Very peaceful and beautiful atmosphere without any disturbance whatsoever. 🙂 I really enjoy the swimming pool, it’s so worth the money. This holiday village is 100% disability friendly to people with autism like me. It’s also very family friendly 😀

Lovely, friendly staff and the caravan was very modern and clean.

Great quality fish and chip shop on site and the white chocolate crepe from the refreshment stall was possibly the best I have ever eaten.

Website says keys to be collected by 5pm, so I did have a panic as we weren’t getting there until 7pm, but upon speaking to reception on the phone, the reception was actually open until 8pm and after that the keys could still be collected from the bar.

We stayed in a lovely chalet, no. 145. I would highly recommend it! The owners were really friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Chalet 145 had ample parking adjacent to it, great kitchen facilities, two bedrooms, a good sized lounge which was very comfortable with lots of light, and all the amenities you could need.
The holiday village itself has a swimming pool which the kids loved, an arcade with games for all ages, shop, and a restaurant plus ice cream bar. It’s right on the beach and there’s a lovely walk over the hill to the wonderful coastal town of Aberystwyth with gorgeous views over the sea. There’s so much to do and see here including eating good fish and chips at The Chip Box 4! Heading the other direction is a great hike to Borth beach.
We enjoyed all the beaches and the children (and adults) had no end of fun.
In summary this is a location and place to stay for a short or long trip to the Welsh seaside.

Stayed 9th June for a week. Lovely place very clean and peaceful. Don’t miss the stunning sunset. Couple of things I think could be improved – opening and closing times displayed on pizza/pub bar, same for chip shop and snack bar. Access is good in most areas for anyone with a disability, however if in a wheelchair or use a scooter it is very difficult to get to beach as most access is steps with no hand rails, there are two slopes but covered in sand and shingles which makes it really difficult or impossible.

Used to come here as a child myself with my late nan owning a couple of chalets here!
Came back to see if it was as good as I remembered and………it didn’t disapoint at all. So much fun for the kids the entertainment is brilliant and plenty for us adults to do to unwind.
    Would definitely recommend 👍🏼

Love the beach! Had fun dipping in the water. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. It’s a perfect for the hot summer day! Admiring the sunset and the joy of sea birds! Surrounding colorful buildings and the historical castle make it fun for it as well.

I decided this year’s staycation would be Aberystwyth. I had certainly left it too long since I had last visited the town.
My first thoughts about the town is it’s a vibrant place of both old and new melding together with lots of renovation taking place.
There is one thing I have got to say first that is, I hate the seagulls there. Whenever possible my first meal at any coastal break is Fish and Chips. Recommended on the North Beach seafront was Chip Box 4, as we sat on a seafront bench seat I was tucking in and enjoying my meal, I was saving the best part of the fish to last when suddenly I was attacked! Sweeping in from behind me, hitting my head, a seagull knocked my meal straight out of my hand, quickly there were three seagulls attacking my food directly in front of me. I manage to get the wasted food and put it in a nearby bin. But it left me feeling very bitter.
Fortunately, it did not mar the holiday and I do not have anything bad to say about the rest of the holiday.
There were quite a few things I would have liked to have done but a week was not long enough.
It’s a great place to walk with many scenic views.
What I can say is I won’t leave it as long to make a return visit.
A final note, on the last day I went back to the Chip Box 4 to have my fill of Fish and Chips, it might have been a warm day, but I enjoyed them on the seafront, sat in my car!

Lovely visit and stay lots to see and do in the area. Stayed at the Glengower Hotel at the end of the promenade very lucky to have seen the knife angel in the town. Overall a great weekend sadly not warm enough for the beach 🏖

Small pebble beach with quite a steep descent and often large waves with a great location for visitors to Aberystwyth. Located right next to the town center and close to the Cliff Railway. Worth visiting at any time of the year. Always perfect for a stop by the water.

Easy to find and absolutely amazing. You can clearly see the remains of an ancient forest that was exposed after a storm in 2014. The forest floor is still soft to touch you can see fern and dead leaves in the ground. Absolutely amazing. Well worth a visit. Lovely beach to stroll on to with the dog 🐕

Fabulous beach once over the pebbles/stones. Lots of local history- prehistoric forest for example.
Lots of space, even on busier days, further down (although not close to the shops, such as it’s a gift) so make sure you take drinks with you.
Great walks, dog friendly (make sure you check- as certain parts have restrictions- which work very well)

We went to Borth beach to see the petrified ancient forest which can be found just after the last building in Borth as you head towards Ynaslas. The is a small parking area just as you leave Borth opposite the golf club. From here hop on the beach and walk to Ynaslas and if the tide is low enough you’ll see the remains of the forest.

The beach towards Ynaslas is dog friendly all year round however the opposite direction is only certain times of the year so make sure to check the signs.

Lovely clean sandy beaches and the dog loved it too!

What a lovely beach for all. You can park over the other side at Ynlas where there’s always an ice cream van, and walk through the sand dunes to the beach, It’s also dog friendly.
Spent 10 hours here & had a bbq next to the car while watching the kids play.
