I adore this place. The beach is clean and sandy, and the sea air lifts the soul!
The surrounding area is not like Yarmouth with lots to do, so it won’t appeal to everyone. But that is reason alone for it to appeal to some.
The space around the beach is plentiful, with a park for the children, a boating lake and a hilltop golf club (for members).
There are a few cafes and restaurants, a few hotels and some very small arcades.
Inland, it’s a small town with the usual facilities and shops, not really seasidy, meant for residents.

The beach itself is lovely with a wide sandy section which becomes more pebbly as you approach the low tide mark. Life guards are stationed there with the flags showing safe swimming areas. Toilets are nearby and a place to wash your feet. Cafe nearby. There is also a splash pad for kids to play in. Visited during week and wasn’t busy. Clean and loads of space. Beach had a lot of space to walk around and sandy. Lots of places to eat and also they have pay and display bays plus disable bays. We stayed there for a long weekend and it was amazing.
The site was spotless and the staff were amazing. It is truly the best haven site I’ve ever had a vacation.My family had a go with the shooting and there was a man named James running it and he was amazing with the kids and had a laugh with the adults. 10/10
If you can book one with beach access it’s worth it. The sun rise you see over the wind farms out at sea are beautiful.
By aza1 (2 months ago)Husband, dog and I recently stayed in a pet friendly caravan. On arrival the staff were really friendly and told us where to go. The caravan was sealed and pretty clean. Admittedly some of the upholstery could have been cleaner but we have stayed in far dirtier caravans.
The park is quite large and has a papa johns and Burger King on site which will deliver to your caravan, this was really useful. We didn’t use the swimming pool or club house so can’t really comment on that. The park is parallel to the beach and it was really convenient to walk the dog. The park is also just down the road from Great Yarmouth.
There seemed to be lots of activities for kids to do including hiring Karts, bikes and a massive climbing wall. Was great to have delivery of food to caravan if you couldn’t be bothered to go out. Found our caravan clean but a bit worn with a few stains on sofas but it was a dog friendly caravan. Lovely pool, my only gripe would be it can sometimes be hard to go just for a swim due to lots of children and adults in the pool playing with balls etc. I know it for kids and wouldn’t want to ruin their fun but maybe a couple of sessions for adult only swimming would be good to. With regards to the caravan itself I would prefer that when you lock up from inside only a key holder could exit except via window as you don’t want your toddler letting themselves out. Also a gas oven is its own risk for that age group. Apart from those points nothing to complain about. Good value. Nice set-up. The on site shop was only about a fifth more expensive than the norm which is much better than I have been used to. The water park is pretty decent. Can’t comment too much on the entertainment as I spent a lot of time trying to control an excited 20 month old.By John Hudson (6 months ago)The venue itself is in a great location, staff are friendly, good choice of food, drinks etc. The only issue we had as a family is the extra cost for the bands you needed. We were expected to pay £200 extra on top of holiday to go swimming our grandson is disabled and hydrotherapy is a important part of his weekly routine we wouldn’t of used the club as his medication is taken after tea and he’s in bed by 7. Firstly the negatives. Parking is cash only and doesn’t give any change, in this day and age can’t believe you can’t pay by card either by ringing a number or via the machine. A few people just left as they didn’t have any change. Car park itself is decent size sadly the toilets were closed, there is some public toilets on high street a short walk away if you need them. The positives, beach itself was wonderful we went at around 12pm on a Monday (kids were at school) and beach was pretty much deserted. Big stretch of sandy beach for the dogs to run on and we ended up walking to California and back. Seen other comments regarding dog poo everywhere but can’t say I saw much at all maybe a couple in two hours walking. We had a seal follow us in the sea which was great to see. When we got back to the car walked up to the brilliant fish and chip shop (yes that’s its name) and had a decent fish and chip lunch on the beach. Can’t say what it’s like in high season but for us it was a nice way to spend the afternoon just shame about the car park.By Mr Bukaroo (7 months ago)Was hard to find the beach as directions weren’t clear,but once found it was great to walk through the dunes to the beach and then walk along listening to the waves breaking onto the shore, picking pebbles of multi and single colour, and enjoying the good weather of sunshine and slight breeze. A few acade shops couple of chippys and a hotel. The only thing good is if you’ve got children who like playing on the sand then you’ll save money. Even though it was the middle of February and pretty chilly, we still love Great Yarmouth ♥ it’s a lovely place for a winters stroll along the beach, and good to see its still very clean and well looked after. Nice to see the money being invested along the front also. Many places were closed when we were there obviously…but that in turn reduces the people and at times we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves!
Lovely to see the lights were left on at night so even though it was very quiet it looked pretty in the dark too.
Having been here since I was a child and I have to say I was surprised with how good it is. The beach is in pretty good shape and it’s huge so loads of room for this time of year (April). Loads down the sea front with fairs and arcades, shops, chips (proper seaside chips) and cakes, ice cream etc. The fairs are a blast especially for kids and there is about 4 of them not just the main pleasure beach. There was a model village too, which we didn’t visit in the end. All in all it was an easy day out visit the shops then onto the beach, chips, ice cream. Big smiles. I also flew a kite which at 37 was a first for me… Was totally sweet!
Great day out with children. Lots to do from fan fair, crazy golf, horse carriage ride, donkey ride to sun bathing at a nice sandy beach. We didn’t have time to go but the recently built leisure centre with water slides looked great.
There were relatively many public toilets along the parade.
Getting a parking space may need a patient but people are always moving in and out and found a space not too long.
Neighbouring beaches are also great to visit, too.
It was a wonderful experience being at Great Yarmouth. This place has multiple beaches and we have been to “Pleasure Beach” and it’s a really good pleasure to be visiting this beach. The place is very lively and you have a lot of things to do. For example Casinos, Train Ride, Horse Ride, street food, local shopping, Marine Drive….,1 day is really not sufficient to visit completely. I recommend you to have at least a 2 day plan if you visit Great Yarmouth. The only problem is to find the car PARKING. We had a really tough time finding the car parking and after a lot of searching we found some place and it was very expressive. For a full day it’s about 31 Pounds and it’s very huge…
Nice long beach. The whole place was very clean but I did go in October so wasn’t that busy. A lot of attractions where closed only opened at weekends before the season finishes but there’s still plenty to do without the crowds,Tony’s chippy had the best fish I’ve had in a long while plus its £4 cheaper than Harry Ramsden.
