Me and my family just had an outing at Lawrence and gardens. It’s nice that the library has a partnership with them so you can get in free with the library card print the ticket from the website on the library. They have beautiful flowers blooming right now. I love seeing all the different colored flowers and we took the tram which is nice it shows you a lot of the grounds we normally can’t walk that far to see. It’s nice they have a tram five bucks a person. It’s also nice that they have benches everywhere inside and outside to sit on. They have a lot of beautiful blown glass pieces like glass flowers. Very large and diverse park with plenty of shaded areas and well kept paths. The whole park is quiet the walk but they do offer a tram experience so you if walking is difficult you can still experience all the park had to offer. The map was helpful but not very clear as where to start walking. As a result we walked along the road when, on the return trip, we discovered there was a sidewalk just few yards away from the road.
It was a bit windy and cool. I will have to come back in the spring time but there is a lot to see and walk around. Great source of relaxing excerises. Will being my camera next time(those photos are off the mobile phone) in the Japan area there were two tripods that were empty but sitting around on a bank which bothered me as to why they would leave something so foreign there near the zen garden. Bathroom, outdoors, was clean and spacious as well as ADA complainant. Wish they had at least one more or maybe even 2 spaces out throughout.
The exit out of the greenhouse to the parking lot was confusing and it almost looked like you had to backtrack through the greenhouse to get out. Could have had better exit signs.

That flowers can come in so many different shapes, size, and colors never ceases to amaze me. The artistry and inventiveness of some has the same impact on me. The extra delight was the food at the cafe which looks out on the poinsettia tree and decorations. We had delicious food at reasonable prices and enjoyed catching up while relaxing after our walk through the displays. Such a cool spot and love that it’s always open to check out! We were in town for a concert and stopped here one night to explore! It was a little rainy and cold but got some great pics of the lights and bridge! Also. It is especially pretty at night with the lights on. There is a small parking lot next to the bridge that tends to get filled up pretty fast. There’s no overflow parking lot so be aware. There’s a marker on bridge for stateline between Iowa and Nebraska slightly beyond the half-mark point. There is a splash pad for the kids during the day and at night the lights are something to see. The river is so beautiful from all of ours views and it cost zero dollars! What a fun experience! The giraffe exhibit is amazing! So fun to watch and feed them! With their long tongues sticking out! Also the play area with the monkeys…so fun! Very up close encounters with many of the animals. Giraffe feeding is really cool.
The layout of the zoo is beautiful and there are plenty of places for the kids to play. An indoor and outdoor playground
We went in December and there were still plenty of animals out. However it was about 45 degrees.
Overall Id recommend coming here with the kids and family

There are a lot of different types of animals with displays that are informative but also simple enough for kids. The train is always a good time, and there are many playgrounds around. Cool off in the water near the giraffes. Get a tasty snack. Free parking is a nice bonus. While not as massive as the Omaha or San Diego zoos, Lincoln’s zoo has just about every species we wanted to see. We were impressed by the variety of animals, well marked loops, informative yet concise signage for each animal, and gobs of playgrounds for kids and matching benches for adults. This place never disappoints! So much work goes in to making it a lovely place. Year around. Spring is my favorite season, but I live out of town and fortunately missed the crocus, daffodils, and hyacinths. I was lucky to have caught my favorite flowers, tulips, still in bloom. Seems to be a favorite for families of young children and students wanting a place to relax. Busy intersection yields much traffic noise. Gazebo sculpture top is unique, and two other bronze statues add interest. A nice evening stop. The flowers are always well maintained and sitting by the koi pond is calming. Definitely recommend stopping here to enjoy the scenery.

The most incredible zoo meant for all ages. Free parking. $25 entrance fee for adults, kids two and under free. Beautiful and well kept. We went on a Saturday during peak hours and saw the Apes, Aquarium, the Jungle, creatures of the night. There is so much to enjoy here. Little nooks to get up close. Plenty of spots to sit down as you’re walking around.
I can easily see why they are overall one of the best zoos in the United States. From the time you enter until the time you leave the customer service is about a 9. If you’re having a problem at the kiosk some will walk right over and help you. Most of the exhibits are indoors so you can’t really complain about the heat unless you’re just a miserable person. The food is definitely over price so make sure you bring a lunch. Make sure you read the signs on the way to the butterfly area it clearly States no strollers are allowed so a lot of people hold the lineup removing kids from the strollers. Just don’t go with a bunch of lazy lobsters that want to sit down the whole trip because they do block the view of the kids trying to see the animals. If I lived in Omaha I would definitely have a zoo membership. I enjoyed my trip so I hope you enjoy yours
We decided to visit the zoo with our son for the first time. He was in heaven! There was so much to do and he enjoyed every moment. We ended up getting their premium tickets with the free rides on the train and skyline, the entry into the sting-rays, etc. We got to feed the stingrays and rode the train. The train had a little bit of an issue with it’s steamer while we were riding and they had to take a break for about 15-20 minutes in the middle of the ride, but aside from that everything went smoothly. We fed the giraffe, which was fun and new! One complaint we had was how the African grill commissary was set up. Everything was digital for ordering, which is fine, but the pick-up was insane. They had two lanes one I assume for things that were taking longer and another should have been for quick pick-ups like just a drink or some drinks and ice cream. It was unclear how you were supposed to line up so some people were lining up in the “quick” lane just waiting for their turn. I feel that it would have been more beneficial for someone to have been out there showing people how to line up or signs to make it more clear. Like, “Only line up here if you’ve received a text message that your order is ready for pick-up.” as an example. My son’s favorite was the Gorillas and Monkeys.
Always love going here and one of the best things about Omaha, and a must-see if you’re not from here! The desert dome is perfect to go in when it’s beginning of Spring or in Fall time honestly due to it getting so hot. My boyfriend and I walked the whole zoo in about half a day, being able to enjoy everything and this was when it was still under construction, about mid March. He is from California and says he’s likes this zoo way more than San Diego Zoo. We are currently planning to go back sometime, its great experience and exercise!
Recently went with my nanny kids too and they always have a blast when going, mainly stayed in the area with the small ‘town’ , as they call it, popcorn was great and staff was friendly and quick. A must see is always the aquarium, I will never get over the amazing tunnel of ocean above my head, my nanny kids were happy to see turtles in there.

Often considered one of the best zoo’s in the nation and rightly so. This zoo is absolutely top notch. The dessert dome and accompanied cave exhibit under ground are superb. Tons of animal exhibits and a pristine park. Plenty of family friendly restrooms and kid activities to keep the young ones, and parents happy. Every exhibit is a unique experience, don’t expect to see it all in one day.
