A well kept beach and a lovely little haven for those who have families and perhaps require good access to facilities. With the dry sand (when the tide is out) located very close to the toilets and cafes this spot is perfect.
Rosie’s cafe serves good food after 5pm and amazing ice cream all day. Then another little cafe opposite too. If you take your own bottles or need to refill with water there is a refill station in Rosie’s too!
Toilet blocks are clean and the beach is well kept.

Stunning views, great surf. The water was fabulous. I actually managed to paddle in the sea for the first time in 5 years, and I got a bit emotional. Rosies cafe was a real joy to visit, with outside seating, and a sandy play area for kids. Great food, great prices. Everyon happy and smiling. What else can you ask for ? It’s a must see beach if you are staying in the area near Bude.
A national trust car park and a cafe with great seating and views
The path down to the beach is very stony and uneven so be careful as you walk .
There are steps at the end of this path which then take you on to pebbles. This can be tricky to walk on .
Once you find the sand you are on a most glorious beach with amazing rock formations.
It’s wide and long and has soft sand and rock pools . Fantastic for active dogs and children. Surfers seem to enjoy it too .
You can walk to the next cove and then return on a beautiful coastal path if you enjoy walking .By Linda Millington (2 months ago)Beautiful beach during low tide, but comes right up to the cobbles at high tide so plan your visit! Only other issue is access. Considering the huge amount of money English Heritage must take on parking a simple ramp over the cobbles onto the sand wouldn’t be too much to ask!By me (5 months ago)A hidden gem of a cove, tucked away from sight and accessed via a narrow country lane culminating in an NT car park. Walks either side take you over the cliff tops and some stunning views whilst taking a few steps down opens up a small sandy cove. Get there early if the forecast is good as parking fills very quickly. There are two car parks, the bottom and one further up a fairly steep hill.
The walk to the beach is well defined but uneven and rock once at bottom. Not accessible by wheelchairs or pushchairs.

We didn’t expect a beach restaurant with that view and location to be very special when it comes about food.
But it definitely was. Besides some fast food options they serve really well made seafood. We had the shrimp (with cheese fries) and a pot of mussels.
Both cooked to perfection, fresh and nicely spiced (and not over-spiced). Staff was friendly, food arrived fast – despite the place being packed.
Our English Bulldog was welcome in the outside area.
Great food, fair prices. Fantastic location. What else you need. A really good place to grab a bit, a beer – before or after visiting the beach.
By Alex Haas (a month ago)Absolutely lovely place with helpful staff.Just next to the sea for wonderful views and lots of food and drink options. Currently they are asking people to order on there phones but I believe they have other options if this isn’t doable.
They have both oat and soy milk for vegans and those who need a dairy free option and decaf coffee too.
The menu is mostly sea food based but they do have vegan and vegetarian options. The tofu with Asian salad and the cauliflower wings were both amazing.
They even have a tap water space so you can fill up any water bottles.

It had a varied selection even including tofu which was surprising, and portion size is great making it really good value for money given the beach location too. Scones on the cream tea were one of the best scones we’ve tasted!
My son ordered cheesy chips with bacon and the portion would easily have fed two! Lovely crunchy chips smothered with bacon and cheese!
I’d have given this place 5 stars however, both cappuccino coffee’s were below luke warm!
I’m not one for complaining so hopefully they see my review. I love ❤ coffee so I was sadly disappointed. It may be the way it’s made as other people in our party had latte which was much warmer.

Amazing place. Had great time. Must visit place if your tour Cornwall. If you want to do surfing it’s better before 5.00 p.m. water come inside after that and fill the pool. It’s amazing.
Life guards will be there in that time. Finding parking is bid hard still okay. Don’t forget your surfer boards. It’s very expensive there. You can hire from there. Absolutely amazing beach. Great sections of nice golden sand and lots of area which is part of the tide going out so you have to time it well. Dogs allowed which was great with no apparent restrictions. Plenty of parking, lots of amenities. Would defo recommend.
We always have a great time here, no matter what the weather. The beach is fantastic, there are loads of rock pools to explore and shallow pools for young kids to paddle in if there not keen on going in the sea. Its a great place to body board, paddle board or surf. Theres also the canal for paddle boarding. Toilets by the lifeboat station are always clean and in good working order. To sum it up, its a perfect place to take the family (dogs are allowed on Summerleaze but have to be on leads during peak times).
We visited in the height of summer so it was obviously very busy. Great beach though. Not many areas of shade , so we had a pop up tent. Pretty clean, lifeguards and wonderful at sunset. Dogs on leads between 10-6 which we loved as our dog is nervous of other dogs. Shame some people don’t listen to this.
Very big beach with lots of beautiful views. Had a fantastic day out and will hopefully return in the future.

Wonderfully expansive sandy beach at low tide for a long stroll perhaps to Crooklets Beach and beyond. Parking a tad expensive @ £4.60 for up to 3 hours but worth the money for the sheer beauty of the place and fresh sea breeze. High tide is the preserve of surfers – entertaining to sit and watch their skillful (or otherwise) manoeuvring across the waves. Delightful place whatever the time of day.
