  1. From the time we entered the property we were happy! Valet services helped direct me to park and register, the front desk although busy was so friendly and attentive. Our room was inviting and comfortable, the pool was lovely and towels were stocked. Text to staff feature is a huge plus for simple questions about dining options and services. My only recommendation is to take a look at prices of onsite dining as they are on the higher side. Coming from San Diego is difficult to find a place we feel so fond of with relaxing and comfort in mind and this hotel did just that! we’ll be back!

  2. Cannot be beaten for location! The restaurant was great! We ended up eating there way more than we expected! If you are lucky enough to be served by Omar you are in for a treat! He is absolutely the best! The rooms are big and spotlessly clean! The pool was awesome with plenty of shaded spots to lounge! Then across the road is a beautiful beach.. HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are staying in Santa B

  3. I am not a Hilton Loyalty member so maybe that makes a difference, but I did pay over $700 a night and the room on the first floor had wet carpet and smelled as if it had been flooded at some point. The white lamp shades were stained and had water damage it just didn’t feel very clean or sanitary. The phone also didn’t work, so it was very difficult to request extra towels. Very poor communication with the staff as I had booked a crib for my baby and when I arrived it wasn’t there. I then had to wait two hours for it to come and we had arrived late at night so it was a bit frustrating. No one took your beverage order at the pool you just had to walk up to their window. It’s not what I’d expect from a resort, but maybe they figure since they’re on the beach they don’t need to do much. The room was the largest disappointment, it just didn’t seem like a safe place to sleep and I was concerned with mold and mildew especially with a baby. I was planning on staying a week, but cut the trip short because it just didn’t feel as special as I wanted it to. The staff seemed nice enough and I liked all the outdoor games but everything was pretty worn out. I wouldn’t stay again, but I would attend a wedding there, that looked like a nice venue.

  4. Service was poor at best. My room was supposed to be ready at 4:00 pm, it wasn’t ready until 6 pm. The phone in the room was dead. It could not call front desk. The room with an Ocean view, had an ocean view and a view of the trash receptacles for the hotel. Room was plain and scant with amenities. Room was hot 82 degrees, but no way to adjust to cool down. In the restaurant I was promptly brought my food, then totally ignored. I asked 6 times for more coffee, and the waiter totally ignored me. Never got my coffee. Extra things, like parking, tennis, game, pool are extra charge per day, $30.00 most often. I left without staying the night. It was like a Motel 6 with a big name.

  5. I am absolutely amazed by this hotel! The entire staff has been incredible. From the second I walked in, to the restaurant and bartender, it has been amazing! Once I get names I will edit this post and give them credit, but just know if you stay here you will not regret it. The location plus the staff is something you cannot beat! 10/10 recommend!

We travel with our kids and dog a lot and this pet friendly hotel is a total gem! If you get a room on the front side of the hotel, most have small ocean views. It is a short/half block from the beach and the bike path that goes along the beautiful waterfront.

The rooms are cute and clean, with simple white linens and laminate-wood floors.

The staff have always been friendly, and on our last visit we met the manager who was very helpful and accommodated a room switch (there was NOTHING wrong with our room, we just preferred the location/view from a room we stayed in on a previous visit.)

This place far exceeds my expectation of a 2 star hotel, and provides phenomenal value for the money.

This weekend my friend and I stayed at the Motel 6 for the first time EVER in our lives. While we still thought it was high priced for what we got, the room was clean (yet very small especially for 2 people). What we were impressed with most was the staff. They were super friendly and informative and helpful. Debbie (and I really hope that is her name but the morning front desk woman who knits) was absolutely wonderful and we are very grateful for her and her service. Other positives are it’s in a great area with good food, there’s a7-11 across the street along with a dispensary so we were happy. Thank you Motel 6!!

This is the best Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed in. The cleanliness of the room was immaculate. The mattress was extremely comfortable. The pillows were huge and very fluffy. The decor was unlike any I’ve ever seen in a Motel 6. There was a small refrigerator in the room as well as a hair drier. I’ve never stayed at a Motel 6 that provided such things before. After checking in and entering the room, I immediately went back to the front office to compliment the lady who was working the desk on how awesome the room was. Upon talking to her I learn that this was the VERY First Motel 6 ever built. Her name was Angela. I think she was the manager or even party owner, but my memory is failing me so I’m not sure. I could tell from talking to her how she took her job of providing a positive experience to the traveling patrons who were staying there very seriously. I could tell that she is a hard worker and is very dedicated to the perpetuation of the hotel’s success. Did I mention that this hotel is only a few hundred feet from the beach? It’s in an ideal location for access to restaurants, bars, and of course The Pacific Ocean. After staying here for the first time on Tuesday October 18th, 2022, this hotel will always be where I stay in future visits to Santa Barbara.

We only gave it 3 stars because it is, after all, a Motel 6, however, it is better than I expected. The last M6 I stayed in was when we were poor college students and it was not the best experience. We we’re pleasantly surprised. The rooms are remodeled with a contemporary, beach feel, clean and not too bad. If you want a SB luxury experience stay at the Miramar Rosewood hotel for $1000+ more. It’s our first night and the only complaint I have is the walls are thin. We’ll see how the next two nights go. I’ll report back. Remember, you are warned that the room is only 200sf.

The location is really good and close to the beach. The room is very tiny but clean and newly renovated it appeared. But, the owner is so selfish with giving the bare minimums to their clientele that it was very irritating. For example, we needed more than just two bath towels and one set of shampoo/conditioner but they were very rude when we asked for more towels. NO Kleenexes, Coffee maker or coffee, microwave or a bottle of water given in the room. We didn’t mind having it all so basic but we did mind the rude behavior when we asked for a few more towels.

Lastly, there is NO elevator, and the motel does NOT offer any handicap rooms. They forced my 86 year old parents to walk up a flight of stairs to reach their room the entire stay. However, they did tell us for an extra surcharge of $100 a night, they could put my parents on the ground level. It was all so ridiculous and insensitive.

    Hope this helps.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the pool area and jacuzzi were great with plenty of chairs and loungers to relax in. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

We hadn’t planned on using the grab and go breakfast but after our first day that was all we had for breakfast. There was a good range and the cakes in the fridge were really nice! Good coffee too and the kids loved the range of cereal and fresh milk in the fridge.

Thomas on front desk was great, breakfast and the coffee was ready nice and early, great when you’ve arrived from a completely different time zone!

The staff at this hotel deserve 10 stars. I brought my son to school and we stayed two nights. The staff make you feel welcomed and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The room was impeccable and the grounds were very well taken care of. You can tell the staff at this hotel take great pride in where they work. The bed was super comfortable and breakfast was good. Coffee, oatmeal and other snacks. Not to mention you can grab some waters for the day. I highly recommend this hotel.

It was easy to get to. It was cute and cozy, and the rooms had lots of flowers. The staff was friendly. The pool and a Jacuzzi were great, and the Jacuzzi was huge. It wasn’t too expensive. There is a table and chairs outside each room poolside, so you can sit with friends and look at the pool. All in all, it was a lovely stay.

What could be better than a chill place like this. Great inner garden work pool. Many rooms overlook and have patios on this garden. Big lawn. Pool was really warm. Didn’t need it but they have a lift for people in wheelchairs to get into the water. That’s a thoughtful amenity. The hotel appears to be undergoing major renovation. A building next door might be part of the hotel. It’s really big. This upper State street location is right across from the mall.

Very clean, well maintained older property. Rooms are clean, pool area nicely landscaped and super clean. Price is great, hotel staff were super, breakfast was a nice selection. If we are back in this area we would definitely stay here again.

Let’s start with the good: 1) the location and grounds are beautiful. 2) excellent valet and customer service.

Now to the bad.. we stayed this past weekend for a wedding. We were so excited because of the location in SB and the photos. We had to move rooms 3 times. The first room the AC didn’t work and they promptly moved us to another room. The second room smelled terribly of mold and was small and not at all what we were promised. We tried to stay since we didn’t want to move again. We tried to go to sleep hoping the smell of mold and mildew but ultimately had to move again. The third room was great. They gave us a discount but overall pretty disappointed in having to move multiple times and that didn’t seem out of the ordinary for this requests from the guests.

Overall, the location and hotel employees were great but unfortunately didn’t match the amount of money we paid to stay.

Location is great for this hotel for restaurants and the pier. The staff is very friendly. The bath rooms looked funky and updated. There is no elevator for certain rooms. The air conditioning is very loud so I suggest if it’s a cool night open the windows. The two pools are great and every night they have fire pits all over to sit down and relax. The rooms were clean, the bed was okay but not amazing.

Nice option right across from the beach and really close to the pier. The room was smallish for four but was fine for two nights. The pool was well used and clean. The staff was very friendly and answered a number of questions about eating locations. The valet parking worked perfectly. The fire pits are placed throughout the property so there are plenty of options for cozy, evening relaxing.

Nice place to stay and the location is perfect. Friendly staff at checking in. Car valet costs 30 dollar. There are several restaurant nearby. The room was small but we had a wonderful view. It was not so isolated so you heard the television from the neighbours but I slept well anyhow. The gym is clean, the pool is heated and we also used the bubble bath. We only stayed one night but I would like to stay one night more.

Small rooms but a great view to the beach. Thin walls so you will hear your neighbours and their bathroom fans.
A small but nice gym. Pool and hot jacuzzi. Recommended!

Best place for the price in SB!
Living room space, refrigerator and coffee maker in room, ac/heat, nice bathroom, comfy bed. In a separate bedroom.

    Very friendly accommodating staff.
I did not use the heated pool but it looked nice. The sun deck was great for working remotely.

Free continental breakfast in the morning and 24/7 coffee and tea available in the lobby.

10 out of 10 highly recommend. I will definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect! Great customer service, kind people, Chris was very helpful and answered all my questions. My room was PERFECT!! Best view of the harbor and beach Quiet neighborhood. Close to Great restaurants. One of the best breakfasts (for a hotel)! I was to check in early. Overall I am very pleased with my stay. I’ll be returning in the future with my family.

I love the location and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I would gladly return here with my family when I come back. There is so much to see and do. I know it’s a big city and a big area and there are many options but this hotel represents a great value in my mind. There are so many hotels all around because of the location which makes these guys try harder to win and keep our business. I think they are doing a fantastic job and I would happily come again if given the opportunity. Thank you ???

Hotel has to be renovated and properly cleaned.
    1) In the morning at the dinning room hotel worker was intensively sweeping floors just centimeters from food. All the dust landed on food. Very clever.
    2) carpet in the room was very dirty, it seemed that someone vomited and it was not properly cleaned, you could see yellow stains on it.
    3) some places on the wall seemed like after war…
    4) bathroom was full of dust.

I know that Santa Barbara is expensive, but for 1,1K for 2 nights is too much.

I would of liked this hotel for what it is. Location is great if you want to be near the beach. Customer service at first was decent. However, after our stay, we were charged extra night. I tried to reconcile this with the hotel and each time I was told that a manager was going to follow up in 48 hours. That came and went and was never contacted. I followed up again and got a person that was completely unhelpful, short, rude, and could not find our previous reservation. NO resolution provided. I’ll now have to dispute this through my credit card company. Terrible service.
