Took my grandchildren to the Asian Lantern Festival and they loved it! The photos are just a small fraction of the attractions and exhibits that they displayed! It was so much to see and really beautiful, but be prepared to put on your comfortable walking shoes! Saw so many animals up close and many unique animals we had never seen at other zoos. We were here during the lantern festival during the daytime and even though the lanterns weren’t lit up they were beautiful and added so much to the experience. Lots of great food options too. The current resident artist has gorgeous sculpture installations. The animals we did see were very nice and well taken care of. Things that bumped the rating down for me: the map is terrible, like literally almost impossible to make actual sense of. You’re better off wandering around hoping you come across what you’re looking for. There’s a lot of dead space. Again, the landscaping is very well done, but you’re walking trough significant portions of the zoo with not much to look at or interact with. To see some of the fish and monkeys you either have to walk up a huge hill or wait for a tram to take you up. The tiger exhibit is spectacular. Lots of places for kids to play, plentiful seating option throughout if a little rest break is needed. My kids loved the lights and it only gets better during the night time. Worth visiting! Very cool location with a fun atmosphere. We loved most everything we got. Especially all the items we got from the various bakery’s! Unfortunately, most of the produce we bought was old. Our garlic was sprouted, once I got home and cut into it, and the ginger molded with in a day. After your drive over the Hope Memorial Bridge, you turn right into the parking lot. The first 90 minutes are free and it’s only $1/hour after that. A welcome surprise.
You’ll first walk into the produce building with vendors selling their tantalizing fruits and hearty vegetables. Once you make it halfway down the corridor, you will see doors to your left to crossover to the rest of the market.
Walking in through the double doors, you are greeted by intoxicating aromas. Look up and you will see the beautiful, high ceiling of the former train station. The place is absolutely packed with local meats and sweets. Many of the vendors sell raw meat and fish for your home cooking needs, while the rest provide ready to order snacks and meals.
Stalls that caught our eye: local pasta, crepes, hot sauce, cannolis, gyro stand and an Irish bakery. We split up and grabbed a gyro from Steven’s Gyros (featured on Man versus Food) and a sausage roll and meat pie from the Irish bakery. There aren’t many places to sit, but if you go to the west end, you can head up the stairs and get a great view of the market. We stuffed our faces, got a picture and then headed down to grab snacks for the rest of the weekend. We loaded up on local cheese, flavored beef jerky, hot sauce and baked goods. All of which were sensational.

Everything in the area is so different but I’m glad that this lil gem is still there and hope that more local vendors continue the tradition. Prices were competitive. Some vendors allow you to even try some of the fruits. Like the fact that you can select the specific pieces of meats you want to purchase. My interest was the bakery and all the baked goods. I bought goodies at “Theresa’s Bakery” and they packed them so well. They were able to make the 3hr trip back to Michigan. There is a little area upstairs that you can have an overview of the market – that was pretty neat. Definitely worth a visit.However, I did note that some of the baked good were next to the meats. It’s a little distracting to try to buy baked goods and all you smell is raw meat. I’m thinking that the meats should probably be on one side and the baked goods, etc on the other.

Beautiful place. Many different exhibits to enjoy for free. At this time you must wear a mask(no big deal they offer free ones if you forget). Great collection of Armour, swords and other artifacts from that Era. Lots 0f real cool Hindu and Buddhist carvings, tablets and sculptures. Second time going spent some time walking through the parks leading to the museum is definitely also worth the effort. Will definitely make time to go again if I’m anywhere close. They also have a nice gift shop and cafe that you can stop in on your way out. The architecture inside and outside are works of art themselves. The best part…it’s free! All of the employees I’ve encountered have been very friendly and informative as well. I’ve been to dozens of museums and this one is honestly on another level.
If you want to explore the whole thing/all the exhibits expect to spend at least 3 hours or so, but if you have less time it’s very easy to pop in and out of the different exhibits! Also I went on a Saturday and it wasn’t even super busy, excellent spot.

Amazing artifacts from BC, Iron Age, AD, Dark ages, Medieval Renaissance and on. From ancient Greece, Egypt, Africa, Rome, Iran and more. It’s thrilling to see works from Goya, Gainsborough, Joseph Turner, John Singer and more famous painters. If you get hungry the cafe has very good food at good prices. This is a nice family/kid friendly park. The play area is very entertaining for the children. It would definitely benefit from some swings and a few more areas designed for the younger children. I really liked the view of downtown Cleveland [didn’t even realize I was that close]. I’d never been, but we finally visited during the summer when visiting my parents.
It’s a pretty long park. There’s a beach as well as plenty of park area. We started out down by the beach which was really pretty.
Then we went up by the Cleveland sign which I preferred. Other than right by the sign, there were less people up there. There are also beautiful skyline views and plenty of shade.
If you haven’t been, this park is a must in the summer.

There is so much more to it than the beach, which really only encompasses a small fraction of the whole park. Nice place for a evening walk. Sunset will be beautiful. It is so big and surprisingly so clean too. Lots of picnic room or room to kick around a ball. Swimming area looked great, although it was still way to cold to utilize that when we were here. We spent five hours at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and loved it! We spent 90 minutes on level 0- the main exhibit that had a ton of information.
The Garage was a family favorite as my husband and son(12 years old) were able to play piano, guitars and drums. We were there on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t too busy, which was great for the Garage.
We enjoyed the wall of inductees and videos that went along with them.
The Cafe is convenient, but pricey. The food was decent. We parked in the harbor lot for $10.00 and that was easy.
Definitely a destination for those who love and appreciate music!
A must visit if you’re in Cleveland! You’ll be treated to some really awesome beats as you walk around and see the exhibits. Lots of memorabilia from R&R greats, with the exhibitions on The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Elvis drawing large crowds as expected. They also have exhibitions on the cities that have contributed significantly to R&R music, including Cleveland. Don’t miss the Hall of Fame area that honors all the inductees. They show a short film with some of the most memorable moments during the ceremonies, ending with a nice tribute to Prince.
They do recommend masks, but I’d say 90% of visitors were without face coverings. It was really uncomfortable in the most crowded areas. They also recommend buying timed-entry tickets online.
Allot at least 2.5 hours and try to arrive early so you can easily find a parking spot. There are other attractions in the area that you can visit while waiting to get in. By the time we left at 1:30 PM, the parking areas have filled up and the car that took our spot was more than happy to see us leaving. Parking is not included in the admission fee.
PRO TIPS: by far one of the most impressive collections of music memorabilia ever assembled. HOWEVER the museum layout for FIRST TIME VISITORS can be quite confusing. You actually enter the Hall of Fame on Level 1. Then travel paths want you to start your tour downstairs on Level 0 (which is the BASEMENT featuring the larger collection of exhibits). THEN you’ll see travel paths which force you to head up to Levels 3, 4, 5, & 6, then finally down to end on level 2 with a final exit through the gift shop on Level 1 at the end of your tour. Confused? HOWEVER MY RECOMMENDED TRAVEL PATH IS (especially with large crowds OR weekend visits): Try starting out on Level 2 (take the elevator) & work your way up the pyramid to avoid the crowds. BUT always end your tour on the impressive Level 0 which is in the basement featuring the most exhibits. SAVE LEVEL ZERO FOR LAST!!!! There is actually an online exhibit guide to help plan your tour prior to arrival. Plan for 2-3 hours if you like rock music. Also lower your expectations as you will not see many artists memorabilia since exhibits rotate in/out. ALSO many artists are not in the Hall of Fame (as of this review) including Phish, B52’s, Kate Bush, Weird Al, etc.
Frankly, my expectations were not met. The building design itself lacks a cohesive flow for a museum and it was a little confusing. And since this is the only museum I’ve ever visited that did not offer a visitor’s guide or a map or layout, that didn’t help.
There are some cool exhibits, and the earliest days of rock and it’s roots are well documented. But the past 50 years, which have come to define the genre of rock probably pouring out of your speakers are WOEFULLY represented. And like too many of the inductees, it’s not who’s in, but who isn’t. There’s barely a whisper of Led Zeppelin or The Who. If you’re looking for Rush, Kiss, Queen or any other bands that defined the 70’s or 80’s, you’ll only find what you came for in the gift shop. This only proves they know what you came to see and spend your money on, but don’t care enough to provide it. You will find memorabilia from current pop stars, but metal is a red headed stepchild here.
The Garage is a pretty cool concept, that’s a must do if you go. Eddie’s guitars and equipment were great, but how about a picture?
If you are in the area, it’s worth a few hours, but I expected more for $35 a person plus the cost of parking and it definitely wasn’t worth the three hour drive from my house. This is not worthy of being a destination museum like in Canton or Cooperstown. There’s plenty of room for improvement in almost every aspect.
If you live in the city, it’s free. Otherwise, it’s $35..but here’s a tip: If you buy a membership for 2, you’ll pay $75. That $5 more than two tickets, plus you get a tee shirt and 10% discount in the gift shop. And it’s good for a year…take anybody you want! Always fun, I’ve seen some great exhibits and changes over the years. The Beatles exhibit was “fab!” It’s a great way to spend an afternoon and through August’22, concerts on the patio certain nights. Have fun and rock on!
