  1. This is a beautiful park with trails going both sides of the river, with nice little spots to hang at. There’s a food truck here aswel. Family friendly, but high traffic of bicycles, roller skating, joggers and scooters along the trail. Absolutely amazing park in the summer ☀️.

  2. Enjoyed the most delightful morning in Calgary! Prince’s Island park is a beautiful, serene place to enjoy nature at its best. There are trails that run alongside the river, benches to relax on and take in the beauty and as you can see, the flowers are absolutely stunning in the summer!!

  3. A Calgary classic. Prince’s Island Park (not “Princess”) is a must-see. Its right in the centre of the city, just north of downtown on Bow River. I love this park cause it has a little bit of everything; flowers, trees, walking/biking paths, rivers, open fields, a cafe and even Enmax Stage where concerts/events are held. Great park, definitely worth a visit.

  4. A nice park for family going on weekend and workers spending their day off. Great grass land surrounding playgrounds. The park is on the bow river, connected with bridges, the most famous and iconic one is Peace Bridge. The park was built on land, and donated in 1947 to the city by the Prince family. Prince Island park is the Central Park in New York. Amazing place to visit if you are tourist.

  5. Prince’s Island reminds me a lot of Vancouver. It’s a nice little getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is in an ideal location, right on the river and a few minutes from the downtown core. The park is considerably huge with large deciduous trees, lush gardens and a cafe on the island. With the changing of the season, the colourful leaves add a whole new beauty to it.

Centrally located, this park is a great gateway for families. Lots and lots and lots of space and spots for picnic and own tents. The park has a boat and train rides for a cost. Lots of parking space but still it gets full quickly. Come early and get your spot.

Insanely busy area! Good luck finding parking. This park offers two playgrounds, multiple picnic tables, an outdoor pool, a mini train experience, and more. A nice view of the Bowness River but it looked a little low as we saw people walking in the middle of the river.

This is another marvelous park. There are so many great parks in Calgary. There is a kiddie wading pool, a mini train for kids to ride, tons of picnic sites with bbq/fire pits, a lagoon, and a small kiosk with drinks/ice cream (by the kiddie pool). The park has lots of trees and there is an open field to relax/play in. And of course it’s right on the beautiful Bow River. It’s only about a 45 min bike ride from downtown to Bowness Park, so its a great destination if you happen to be in the area.

My first trip down the bow in a rental from kijij. For $50 Thomas will completely out-fit you and pick-up the raft at the peace bridge. We had such a good time. Thank you Thomas.

Beautiful park with lots to do on the river. There was skating and a small train that gives rides around the park for kids. There’s a little bistro with a nice patio and a rental place for equipment (boats, skating, etc). There’s also a playground and quite a few picnic areas with fire pits.

This is such a fun place to bring the family! There are so many things to do here. We rode the steam train, looked at the train cars, blacksmith shop, dentist office, rode on the rides, visited the gift shop, ate donuts and cotton candy. Then there was so much more we didn’t get to do because we ran out of time. There are employees everywhere in costume to help out or talk about the different buildings and things to see. Everyone was so helpful and kind! The treats were yummy and reasonably priced. This time we were here with a school trip but we’ve been here before with just family. Love this place! Next time we’ll visit the ranch and ride the boat.

I cannot recommend Heritage Park enough!! I’m a big fan of historic villages and this place checks every box for me. I brought my two nephews (4 and 2 years old) and they had the time of their life. Between riding the train, the amusement rides, and watching the live demonstrations, we were hooked on everything! Heavily considering getting a membership because this place is just awesome!

We have the best experience exploring the park. We rode the train to go around and eat ice cream and some other sweet staff they have. It was a great fresh air visiting the farm yard and the little town around. The vintage cars are cool as well.

You cannot do everything in this park or see everything in this park in a couple of hours. Plan to spend a day. It’s a beautiful place and everything has been so well restored and taken care of. Love how you feel from the staff like you are back in time. Everyone there was super friendly. Each staff member was always willing to give you any information you needed. This is a spectacular place to go. My only complaint would be that it is a bit pricey when you have a big group and to also have to pay for parking was disappointing. Highly recommend going here.

Heritage Park is lots of fun for everyone! So many things to see and do. From the old gas stations and antique cars to the vintage fair rides and a farm with horses, pigs, goats and more.
Old fashioned ice cream from Vulcan and the vintage candy store! There’s something for everyone. Take a ride on the train or go on the historical paddle wheeler boat!
    Have fun. We did!
