  I strongly recommend coming early in the morning to avoid the crowds if you have young children. The lineup to get into Green Gables is very busy around 11:00 am on a nice day.

  I love Green Gables, and this was my first time going since the new Welcome centre was built. It looks really nice. I do miss the old video that you could watch before going in, though. I wish they would have kept that.

  We were able to see Anne and Diana as well. Which was a big hit with our child.

  We packed a picnic and are it across at Montgomery Park. You can get there through the Haunted Woods. It was a nice way to end our trip to Green Gables.

  Check out Maud’s home and the post office down the road if you get a chance. It’s always fun to see.

  This was a great place to visit and learn about the author Lucy Maud Montgomery and the world she painted in her books. I loved the entrance and interesting facts about the life of Lucy Maud Montgomery and the era in which she lived. Scavenger hunt booklets were made for the kids and tours are available to learn more about the different buildings of Green Gables heritage place.
  During our visit we got to meetup with a “real-life” Anne Shirley and Diana Berry among others dressed in attire from the 1900’s. The trails were a lot of fun to go on, and the house of the old homestead had really given us a picture of what life might have been like in the 1900’s. Lover’s Lane gave us a chance to remember parts from the book Anne of Green Gables and see where Lucy got her inspiration from. The kids especially loved the “Haunted Woods trail” and you could also go see the original home foundation where Lucy was born.
  I did wish there was something of a re-enactment or fun little dramas / skits about the Anne of Green Gables books or such. ;). My only complaint was the underwhelming lack of food options. We ended up eating overpriced beaver tail hot dogs – I’d definitely pack a lunch next time.
  The gift shop was a lot of fun too! Overall a 4/5.

  An okay experience. The Anne of Green Gables Museum was cooler in my opinion. This place was crowded. There was a gift shop, and you can walk through a recreation of her house. However it didn’t look right. The wall paper and the rugs were NOT what would have been in Anne’s house, and that bothered me. Too flowery. Too fancy. The barn was cool to look at, but overall I was underwhelmed. A good gift store. But so little t-shirts and sweatshirts that had Green Gables or Avonlea on them! Everything was mostly PEI stuff. Best part was the trail walk through the haunted woods. SO COOL! Most of my positive review is based on that. Plenty of parking, also there IS food on site. Great place to bring kids if they like Anne of Green Gables.

  As a fan of Anne of Green Gables, my daughter wanted to visit this place, especially the home, while visiting PEI.
  While hubbies waited we did the short tour. Very informative employees answered all questions politely. Like when a person asked “where is the bathroom in here.” Our 3 year old liked the tour too. The Haunted Forest she enjoyed more. It was a good walk, hilly at places, with a golf course on the middle. Nice to be in nature.
  The personal display of Lucy Maude Montgomery life journey was very interesting too.
  Much more to see too, next time.

  It was a cute place to stop. Had seen it 23 years ago and it changed a lot! Beautiful flower garden in front of Anne of Green Gables house. The hiking trail in the “Haunted Forest” is a nice little walk. They should have a few actors in the house reenacting some of the scenes, it would make it more interrsting.

  Awesome lighthouse to visit and you can go right to the top. We came on a cooler, less busy day and there were still lots of people. There is a small fee to go to the top but the visit is free. Not many made the trek up to the top at the time we were there. The stair are steep so not for the faint of heart. It’s a great spot for photography, picnics and even has a nice souvenir shop as well. There is a cafe just down the driveway as well, if you want something to eat. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are people will will tell you about the history of their lighthouse and they are very proud of it.

  Picturesque tall lighthouse on the beautiful south coast of Price Edward Island. They had a super cute gift shop with souvenires, and wears. My sister and I each bought these beautiful hand painted pottery dishes for grating garlic. You can even pay as small fee ($5) to go up inside the lighthouse all the way to the top. The money goes to maintaining the lighthouse so we happily paid. The inside is set up like a museum and a greater who tells you the history of the lighthouse and it’s keeper. You can even crank the fog horn with is fun! There are several levels to climb and it’s cool to see how the keeper lived in the small spaces The view from the top is incredible. Sweeping views of the sea backed by lush evergreens.

  With amazing views this lighthouse gives access to the guard room. It also has preserved beam glasses used in the past. The gift shop has amazing collection of local crafts and lady at gift shop is very sweet – she shared anecdotes from past and how climate change may impact light house. Don’t forget to use stamp at the entry of light house. It’s fun

  Such a wonderful little spot where we spent our last day in PEI. The kids loved climbing upto the top of the lighthouse and visiting the gift shop which was run by two very lovely ladies! The grounds were clean and the view was serene. I would recommend this little lighthouse. Take a picnic and eat right by it.

  Beautiful view. Not very good for a leisurely walk along the beach as very rocky and slippery, but if willing to trek it it is worth it! When arriving, paved road ends a km or so before the lighthouse, Chowder House (was too late to try, but has one of the best views in PEI), and public waterfront access….keep going down the dirt road, you’ll get there 🙂
