Best Beaches in West Sussex And What To Do With Tips On Where To Stay. Here are some of the Best Beaches in West Sussex that I have visited.
These are the 3 Best Beaches in West Sussex that are So Beautiful
I will discuss 3 best beaches in West Sussex namely West Wittering Beach, Littlehampton Beach, and Worthing Beach.
1. West Wittering Beach
I visited West Wittering Beach and it was a great day out with friends and also I booked my parking space in advance but there was plenty of space left.
West Wittering Beach is a great beach and I had a lovely walk over the dunes after lunch at the beach and then I stopped for a coffee at the end of the day where they have a very nice outdoor dining area.
West Wittering Beach has beautiful soft sand and good parking facilities with a good number of beach staff, emergency services, lifeguards and one of the best beaches in West Sussex.
West Wittering Beach has toilets with a car park and is organized and I think it’s a long, deep beach, tides through the ages and leaves a beautiful pool for me to explore.

West Wittering Beach is a clean clean area, dogs are allowed here but not too many places allow and it’s great here to grab a sun tent and relax.
West Wittering Beach has plenty of room to spread out so it never feels crowded and if you don’t want to be on a flat part of the beach there are dunes at the back of the beach, great for leaning on and exploring.
These are the Best Hotels Near West Wittering Beach
Travelodge Chichester Emsworth: It was a real pleasure when I stayed at the Travelodge Chichester with the staff who gave me a warm welcome when I arrived and were all very friendly and helpful.
Travelodge Chichester has clean and tidy rooms and I slept very well and it’s a great location here and having a Starbucks next door is an added advantage.
2. Littlehampton Beach
Littlehampton Beach is a beautiful beach, lots of things to do and the location is just a few hours from London and lots of lovely restaurants and great for bringing families with small children and cheap trips to come here too.
I arrived at Littlehampton Beach around 10am and was expecting to queue for parking but it’s actually really easy to find and this place one of the best beaches in West Sussex.
When you get to the front there is a car park right in front of you which does seem very busy but I turned left and found another car park about 100 meters down which is less crowded in Littlehampton Beach and costs £11 for the whole day .

Littlehampton Beach has a play area, which is definitely quieter – it seems the closer you walk to the estuary, the amusement and food park, the restrooms, the busier it gets.
Overall I would highly recommend Littlehampton Beach as a less busy beach getaway destination than Brighton or Witterings.

East Beach Guest House: The East Beach Guest House is a cozy, clean and welcoming place to stay and having a delicious breakfast and the attention to detail makes a huge difference and near best beaches in West Sussex.
3. Worthing Beach
Worthing Beach is probably the main attraction for most visitors as the beach has a large promenade and towards its eastern end is being developed with some excellent dining and public areas and the promenade stretches for about 4 to 5 miles in length.
Worthing Beach has excellent beach and land views. Overlooking the sea, wind farms can be seen and easy access to the beach is possible in almost all parts.

Worthing Beach is generally rocky, with little sand at low tide and some parts of the beach can be dangerous at high tide, especially in places like Splash Point so be careful.
Worthing Beach has plenty of places to eat, snack, drink or ice cream and this beach is partly sandy, mostly gravel and one of the best beaches in West Sussex.
These are the Best Hotels Near Worthing Beach
Premier Inn Worthing Seafront hotel: I think Premier Inn Worthing is a fantastic stay with clean rooms with sea views, perfect air conditioning, and during my stay of a few days, treated me like family.
That’s the story of my experience while vacationing on the beautiful beaches of the 3 Best Beaches in West Sussex.

It’s a beautiful place to visit. I haven’t travelled around the city as me and my friends just wanted to go towards the beach and relax. We had a wonderful time and it’s very relaxing even if the beach is crowded. They have public toilets around and we went to one of the bars and refilled our bottles with water for free. People are really friendly out there ?By Varsha Kankanala (3 months ago)A beautiful city with a beautiful beach. There were public toilets available close to the beach for changeovers, but they are not well maintained. The pier is a good place for entertainment with friends or kids, and this makes it unique from other beaches.By Not_so_local_wayfarer (a month ago)The most lively and packed beach in England, it seems like everyone come here to enjoy their perfect summer time in England. There are so many restaurants with seafront view and people drink from the early morning till night. Fresh seafood shop is something hard to find in other popular beaches, but here in Brighton, the oysters and whelks taste like heaven. And ice cream is a must for a perfect sunny day at Brighton beach.By Linh Doan (thatglobetrotter) (3 months ago)What an incredible beach! There’s so much to soak in, and the seaside generously lends itself to those not duly inclined to swim. There are nearby restaurants, activities, amusement rides and so much more. England’s coasts both offer exemplary and enriching experiences. Brighton is a unique place and worth your visit.
A truly memorable and enchanted visit for us. Highly recommended!By Luke Daniel (5 months ago)Brighton beach is a Lovely pebble beach with nice view. A good place to relax and chill. There are Lots of cafes and restaurants around the beach. You have public toilet. Sea life was very fun and intriguing. The small train rides along the beach was lovely experience. If you want an unspoilt beach for a lovely walk then this is just the place. There’s the promenade part of littlehampton on the other side. West beach is a stone beach frequented by dog walkers, it has toilets by the car park and the car park is cheap.
We like to come in winter if it’s not too windy, great for finding interesting stones and shells, chasing seagulls and watching the golfers from the dunes.By Patricia Jenkins (9 months ago)Nice place for a quite getaway, water sports, beautiful views.
There are cafes, parking and public toilets nearby. Good for swimming.
The beach is not that crowded. Its a pebble beach but you will find sandy patches as you go close to the sea.
Beautiful beach, just not fond of pebbles so 4 stars.By Shivani Tanwar (a year ago)Secluded access makes this beach quieter than the one opposite the river entrance in the main town. Pay parking is close by and the beach never overcrowded.By Mike Day (7 months ago)Windy and cold today! Good for blowing the cobwebs away! Narrow access road along the river Arun….road with traffic lights now. They seem temporary (UPDATE. Yes they have gone!). Pay and display. Card or app only (no cash). The coffee hut shut when we were there (Monday)…nice dunes (fenced off). Lots of pebbles but sand at low tide. Beach goes out a long way at low tide (wasn’t low tide when we were here) ! UPDATE. Coffee shop opened but toilets padlocked shut ?By Mat Dodol (6 months ago)It may have been a bit of a bleak day but the beach was pretty dirty and visually not very pleasing. Lots of people and sea defenses were old, broken and ugly. I’m sure I could be fine on a good day but wasn’t all round that impressed.By Harry Bayfield (10 months ago)

Nice and spacious pebble beachfront. When the tide is low, it exposed its sandy planes… then is nice to walk on its shallow waters.. parking is nearby and at reasonable prices (cheaper than parking on the west beach) at £1.20 per hr. If i remember rightly. parking is charged until 8pm.By Christian C. (2 months ago)Very nice place to spend your day. More sandy than in Worthing or any other beaches around. You might do a barbecue if you want to at dedicated place. You have Amusement Park nearby, coffee shops and toilets. Nearby it’s Harvester if you want a hot meal. I recommend this place for kids and adults, for all ages.By Bogdan Enciu (4 months ago)Large expanse of sandy beach at low tide providing plenty of space for sunbathing and shallow water paddling. Less room at high tide so can be quite packed. Advantage of a soft sandy bed for playing about in the waves.By Mike Day (3 months ago)The tide was out and weather glorious, spent a lovely day building sandcastles with the little ones and going for a splish splash.
First visit to Littlehampton, it was a lovely sand beach, parking was easy to come by, and didn’t seem as touristy as the likes Brighton and others.
By Mr Singh (a month ago)There is a part of the sandy beach where you can take the most of being at the seaside. Along the promenade there are many facilities. There are also clean toilets.By Gosia Grudkowska (2 months ago)

Great place to chill at weekend. Free packing and children friendly. Of course you can take your dogs and there has a sign which area is only for dogs in. We had a picnic there and lovely time in the water. Not crowded which I prefer than other beaches. Less than 2 hours drive if you from London.By Eva Finn (3 months ago)Beautiful, old-school English seaside. Clean beach and good water quality. Easy, free parking. Nice promenade. Plenty of space to spread out in a group. Kite-surfers nearby and jet skiers to watch, plus plenty of SUP action too.By emma norman (a year ago)Excellent pebble beach ? not rush at anytime . Very good for kids as it is not deep for too long .. can collect lots of stones for aquarium and all . Very neat and clean place. Also the car parking is free tooBy JO JOY (6 months ago)It’s a pebble beach and if you want to head out for a paddle of a swim I’d bring some shoes that you can wear in the sea so you don’t cut your feet! Other than that it is the perfect place for a picnic either on the grass or pebbles, often there’s sailing boats and wind surfers to watch. Sea lane cafe isn’t far and public toilets. It’s also the perfect spot to catch the sunset!By Alisha Maltby (a year ago)Such a lovely stretch of beach. Kids can get in the water and play whilst the adults sit on the shingle and enjoy the sea breeze. It’s easily accessible with free parking very close and it’s never hugely busy. Definitely worth a visit to just sit and be with the seaBy sarah (3 months ago)

A beautiful day out even if it was windy and very chilly! Our visit was in winter and while not busy busy there where quite a few people out. I am not sure if dog are allowed on the beach in summer but they are in winter as we and others enjoyed a walk along the sea with our furry friends. There is a path at the top for when the tide is in, I can imagine this beach would be even more beautiful and busy in the summer. Parking lot had toilet facilities.
My favourite beach for Sandcastle building…. Nice gradual slope, so safe for paddling and swimming.
Cafe serves better coffee then most seaside offerings
Car park is a day fee, but it’s reasonable and you can book in advance which is great on a sunny bank holiday.
Dog friendly overall, but observe the areas that say no dogs (varies according to time of year).
There are decent toilet facilities available and outdoor showers to get the sand off before you head home.
Great beach, decent available parking with security patrols and automated ANPR to allow you straight into the beach.
It really doesn’t matter where you park here there are facilities only a few steps away wherever you end up.
On site cafe, ice creams, shop etc.
The lifeguards are really helpful and are always out patrolling the beach and giving updates and safety announcements.
The beach can get quite busy on occasion and it may start to get a little invasive when people pitch down directly beside you when there’s an entire beach, but, not much you can do about it.
The scenery is great, the beach is shallow for a long way out and is pretty friendly for kids when the tide is in. Stay between the safety flags and take normal safety precautions and with the lifeguards on hand it should be fine.
A short walk around to the sailing club there is a good crabbing pool, some smoked bacon in a trap and you’ll almost always pull something in. Great fun for the kids.
My wife’s favourite beach.
Lovely beach and its so good you have a parking space because you pay for it. It’s good you can reserve parking and turn up when you like. I would give the beach 5 stars.
However I only gave 4 because we went to get fish and chips yesterday after queuing up for an hour to get them. We was told they had no fish it had all been sold. We was starving hungry. Also being on a beach you would think they would have loads of fish as it’s a very popular dish. They was sold out by 2:30pm.
Beautiful clean stretch of beach, soft sand, lovely cafe, good facilities. Its shallow water is great for kids and the East head is dog friendly. This is the jewel in the crown of Sussex. You must book parking in advance. I love it here.
