Our experiences with this business and the owners is excellent. We had the pleasure of having our son work at their recovery centers for years as well as having referred personal friends for treatment.

I have been to many different treatment centers over the many years of my journey to recovery. Defining Wellness is, by far, the most phenomenal one in regards to their programming, staff, amenities and aftercare. Each person is truly treated on an individual basis, with respect and the opportunity to participate in their own treatment plan. They provide a beautiful, safe and serene environment to explore traditional AA/12 steps, holistic, medicinal, physical and spiritual recovery tools and techniques. To say this place was a blessing for me is a major understatement. They saved my life, and I am so grateful and honored to be a DW alumni. I would 110% recommend Defining Wellness to any person struggling with addiction.

Everyone on the staff was great. It’s definitely not a hardcore place. I called it a combination of a resort and an alcohol treatment center. I think it was a great balance for everyone. The food is very good and you get plenty of it. You don’t have to get up with the sun unless you really want to. Your first obligation is at 9:00 a.m. but again, I really think it’s the staff that make it such a special place from the doctors to the therapists to the Customer Support Specialists (CSS workers). The accommodations are quite nice. The only thing that’s missing is a swimming pool LOL. They do have an ice bath if you’re game for that.

I was referred to Defining Wellness Centers by a friend. They are an inpatient drug treatment and wellness center which is an excellent place to send a loved one for treatment. They use solid and clinical medical components consisting of equine therapy and brainstorming along with evidence based treatment modalities to help with recovery. I would highly recommend this facility

BtR is like a second home to me. I walked in scared, at the end of my rope and willing to try anything to stop feeling so abysmal all the time (and medicating with just about everything that wasn’t good for me). What I found in the process were people who genuinely cared — not just the clinicians, but the clients as well. The experience of healing alongside others struggling with the same problems was so rewarding and made me feel like I wasn’t alone. Participation in IOP also led me to AA and the local recovery community, where I formed some great bonds that have helped keep me accountable and feel like others have been where I have been, felt what I have felt. That was worth all the money in the world to me. I feel like I’ve been given the gift of trust again, because compassion really starts when you learn that pretty much all human beings are doing their very best with what they have, and our pain or trauma at their hands can be overcome with time, support, and forgiveness. Kostas, Denise, Leigh, Maria, Laura, Keith, Kevin, Brenda, Shay, Judy, Dr. T, and everyone else on the Bridge — I love you all from the bottom of my heart and I can’t thank you enough for supporting me and giving me a safe space to recover and heal from a lifetime of unprocessed pain. I’ve been a nurse here for 14 years and love my job and residents. I’ve worked with some wonderful, caring staff over the years that absolutely care for the residents with a heart of gold. My DON, Administrator, and staff makes sure our residents are well taken care off. I highly recommend Indianola Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, not just because I work here , but because I know we have a great healthcare team.

I have been to a number of rehabs prior to coming to the Extra Mile. The Extra Mile is the first rehab in which I was required to do the 12 steps. All other rehabs focused nearly exclusively on psychology and wellness, and for me, this was not enough. The Extra Mile staff and therapists truly do care. With psychiatric care (which was very much needed) and working the twelve steps, I received the best possible start for my recovery. I would recommend the Extra Mile to anyone suffering from addiction. It definitely set me up for success recovery upon leaving. I could not recommend highly enough.

Extra Mile Recovery will forever be a part of my experience in addiction recovery. I am grateful for my time there, and the care I received. I arrived there having no expectations of what my recovery experience would be like. At the time, I was deep into a 30 year addiction with alcoholism with little hope of recovery or relief from my addiction and trauma. The recovery work included trauma therapy from experts in the field of addiction recovery. Extra Mile Recovery gave me the resources I needed to understand addiction, trauma, and codependency. They also provided the steps necessary to maintain a healthy recovery lifestyle after leaving the inpatient program. I am currently 10 months in active recovery, and sober for the first time in 30 years. My family and I are grateful to Extra Mile and all of their Staff.

Extra Mile Recovery saved my life. Lacey was incredibly helpful and went to every length to make sure I was able to get the help I needed. After spending 90 days there, I have new friendships and a new outlook on life. Emrick and the rest of the staff there truly care about the wellbeing of the patients. The Extra Mile is a truly special place. The chairs are very comfortable and the club house stays at a cool 72 degrees despite the scorching heat of north Mississippi summer. Their second to none work out facility has all the equipment anyone could need, despite the national shortage of weights. I will be forever grateful for The Extra Mile.

I am extremely grateful for my experience at Extra Mile Recovery. I was struggling with substance for a long time and did not know a way out of that miserable lifestyle. I checked in on July 28, 2019, completed the 90 day program, and have been clean ever since. I love that they are a small program because I felt like my voice was heard and I was understood.
