I had an incredible experience at this facility. I found the the client care and individual needs were all met and exceeded. The staff were considerate and respectful and held knowledge of recovery because most had their own personal recovery experience. The amenities were very comfortable and great planning had gone into designing a place that was well thought out while remaining comfortable so a client is able to focus on healing and recovering. The groups and meetings were focused on topics that were centered in helping clients to understand their issues and triggers that would directly effect them in their lives outside a treatment. Zia’s multi levels of care ensures a safe step down that returns a client back to life in a slower rate that ensures success rather that the usual 30 day treatment model. They offered client services that most do not offer like case managers that could help sort out legal issues, resources for meetings, doctors and therapist after a client leaves their program. This facility is focused on healing the underlying issues in hopes they never have to return to treatment. I’ll never forget my experience with them and whole heartedly recommend them.

I had been to 4 recovery programs before I found Zia. Once my fog cleared and I stopped being mad at myself for landing in yet, another recovery program, I knew I was in the right place. Everyone at Zia are super helpful and compassionate, From Daniel and Ryan and down to the techs. My sober date is 3/08/21 so I’m almost 4 months sober and I haven’t been this happy in 5 years. I would recommend any to Zia recovery center.

Zia recovery center gave me another chance at life. I started the program in detox & finished in the apartments. I finished the year program & now work for Zia as a tech. I’m truly grateful to have had the opportunity to come to Zia. If you’re ready to get sober I highly recommend Zia. I have a life beyond what I could imagine.

I’ve been to serval treatment centers, but this one was by far the best! It taught me how to work an honest program, diligently. The staff at Zia Recovery Center is trustworthy. The owners really do care about recovery and they’re clients. I’ve been Clean and sober longer than anytime before, living day by day, and I’ve honestly never been happier.

Zia Recovery Center is different than any other treatment facility I have heard about or seen. Their approach to recovery utilizes all of the tools to ensure success for every individual. They saved my life and I will be forever grateful for everything they have done for me. I learned so much about recovery and myself while there. It is ran by people like us who truly care for every person there wanting help. It is suggested that you finish the whole treatment plan they make for you, and I agree that chances for substainable recovery is better achieved when you complete the process. From the amazing detox facility ( which has the cutest goats, donkeys, and chickens) to sober living then transitional living. My housemates were the most amazing people and I made forever friends with them. I loved the staff. They have case managers, therapist, and other staf assigned to you indiviually. There are groups that center in the causes and conditions of why we use and helped me better understand what I was going through. They made me feel like a person wanting help not a prisoner in some place like other treatment facilities. They not only taught me the tools to use in my daily life, but showed me how to use them regularly. If you are struggling with alcohol or drugs, this place can help you help yourself.

I recommend this facility to anyone who wants to get their life back. I went for sobriety and got so much more-a new lease on life. Every single staff member is there because because they have compassionate hearts for addicts and want to see us succeed in the program and in life. The clients’ transformations as they began to feel better were astonishing and beautiful. Most staff have personal experience with recovery so they truly understand what we are going through and the path to a better life. The programming is full of useful day to day tools to not just recover, but also heal the pain that led us to addiction. I will be forever grateful for the staff and the program.

There are so many wonderful things I can say about Shadow Mountain. First and foremost, I have to commend the staff. These are the most caring and genuine people. They are exceptionally supportive especially while people are going through one of the, if not the, most challenging experiences of their lives. The medical team goes out of there way to provide care and comfort while keeping things medically safe. The recovery techs or the people who are working with clients every day, are incredibly supportive and kind all while being completely real and they always tell you what you need to hear. The clinical staff is absolutely amazing. They provide you with an unbelievable amount of tools that you will use and, if applied, can make a huge difference in ones life. Shadow Mountain is by no means a place just to get clean, it’s a place that sets you up for success and prepares you to go back out into the real world. The management team is also phenomenal, genuine, honest, incredibly supportive, friendly, kind and so much more. The entire team provides a safe environment with compassion and empathy. The program itself sets its clients up for success in everyday life. The team will take clients on outings that are educational but also provide a sense of fun. It’s challenging to articulate the affect of how prodigious my experience was with them. This experience was life changing for me and I am so grateful for it. If you or a loved on is looking for a rehabilitation facility that provides care, trauma support, relationship and trust building, life skills and much much more, I cannot recommend Shadow Mountain Recovery Center more. If you immerse yourself into the program and you want a better life for yourself, there is a way out of active addiction and it starts here.

I attended Shadow mountain recovery for detox and the residential treatment program. The staff are exceptional in their field of expertise. Everyone is extremely caring and professional in helping residents be as comfortable as possible handling a difficult situation. Residents are kept busy the entire day working on individual therapy and in group sessions. It’s a well thought out and successful program. I highly recommend it.

Awww shadow mountain. Where do I even begin??? This place is beautiful. The staff are amazing all the way up the chain. They all work so hard to ensure you are receiving the absolute best care and go out of their way to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. Because let’s be real, walking through those doors is terrifying! I did have to go back due to an unfortunate relapse, however they welcomed me back with open arms, and zero judgement. As soon as that front door opened and I saw the employees I began to cry.. a happy cry. Because I knew I would be safe. I knew I’d be taken care of and I knew I’d be loved. My insurance didn’t wanna pay for the second time and they fought every week for me to be able to stay. They taught me so much. And I honestly probably wouldn’t even be alive today if it weren’t for them. God bless this facility and all of the staff who not only saved my life, but healed my soul

I started off in Colorado at Mountain View Recovery and transferred to Icarus in NM, to finish off my treatment because time is everything, and I wasn’t ready for the real world. It being a brand new place my observation in just the short amount of time is that, I got exactly what I needed in my last week. That was to set my boundaries in place and make a solid list of structure in my everyday life, and incorporating my tools. Like AA meetings, sponsors, getting my new doctor and therapist scheduled. They met all of those needs. Also within that week I have seen them grow in their team to make sure that we the clients/patients get everything we need for our mental and physical health. We all know it takes an army to help us with our everyday struggles and I am blessed and grateful that I get to have them by myside. They helped me figure out how to stick with who I am. Thank You Icarus I highly recommend them.

To say this place is top notch would be an understatement. I arrived to Icarus broken and not knowing how to live life. This place gave me the tools and a new outlook on life. Today I’m sober and successful and I owe it all to Icarus. All the staff truly care and the owners are amazing. They are present and care so much about you. I didn’t only gain a new outlook but I gained a new family in Icarus. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs help. The facility is amazing. The therapy is also truly awesome. This place also shows you how to not only live sober but that you can have fun in sobriety. I am truly grateful for Icarus and all the staff.

This is an exceptional treatment experience for addiction. The staff, led by the amazing Randall Staton, is extraordinary; many professionals passionate about helping people like me. The facility itself is nestled in Shadow Mountain and it is well maintained and very comfortable. The mountain itself is a very spiritual place. It has a lot of power and one can feel it just by being there. If you or a loved one needs help with addiction, I highly recommend Shadow Mountain Recovery in Taos, New Mexico. It’s one of a kind and truly effective.

Shadow mountain changed my life. The community here brought me closer to my own life than I’ve ever been. It brought me Faith, Friendship, Fellowship, Family, Love, and Laughter. It truly changed the way I perceive my own life. I was able to be honest about my own story; However, I was also able to learn from others at the same time. Shedding light on how we are all truly in this together. I would recommend to anyone looking to change their lives for the better.

I have worked here for nearly a year and a half, and am leaving on good terms. I am proud to have worked with such a professional and supportive staff. I was given the space to bring my unique abilities and perspective on the daily. My supervisor always made the time to help with and listen to my challenges and concerns, while allowing me the room to learn from my mistakes. I believe in this program of recovery, and have seen it work in many men’s lives. I have enjoyed working here, and highly recommend Shadow Mountain as a place of employment.

Absolutely life-changing. The staff—from the therapists, to medical staff and mentors—are professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. Beautiful, remote location. Great lodgings, delicious food. Would recommend to anyone. Shadow Mountain literally saved my life.

Shadow Mountain Recovery Taos saved my life. I went to treatment because of my families wishes, and I had no intention of actually trying to recover before I got here. The staff didn’t give up on me and helped me to change my attitude on recovery and my life in general. The Staff here is excellent, both the clinicians and the mentors. The clinicians are very knowledgeable and skilled in recovery therapy, and the mentor staff does an excellent job spending time with the clients in the afternoon and nights, having groups on campus and taking us to NA/AA groups and extracurricular activities off campus several times a week. The food here is excellent, and the chef does a great job providing good clean food for the clients. The campus itself is beautiful and the Groundskeeper Ben does a terrific job maintaining the campus. This place saved my life and I would recommend it to anybody looking to work on their recovery. I can’t say enough good things about Shadow Mountain Taos.

Vista Taos is an amazing recovery center. I really benefited and appreciated the holistic approach of the program. There was ample time to heal and learn and enjoy throughout the programming. The staff was really helpful from the RAs to the therapists. This place really provided an organic and safe place to heal and recover. Also JD, my therapist, was amazing and really helped me to understand and heal throughout my time here. He is a great asset to Vista Taos. He rocks! And I am so grateful that I came to Vista Taos.

I highly recommend Vista Taos Renewal Center if you want a holistic, high-quality recovery program. The staff, well-rounded programs and life-changing experiences are all top-notch. The level of care I received was superior, starting with my counselor JD who is beyond amazing. He gave me the opportunity to look at who I am as a person and gave me the space to ask questions, be curious and grow. I’m also beyond grateful for the other individuals in treatment–the lifelong friends I met and stay in touch with who continue to help me in my recovery journey. The excursions and outings we went on were awesome, and the food was even incredible! At the end of the day, it was the best investment I ever made. I look forward to going back as an alum to celebrate my recovery with others and share my story with those who need a lift. I’m grateful. Thank you, Vista Taos. – Jeff
