Very impressive outdoor dining area, large, even a few tables on a boat parked aside. Oysters were absolutely wonderful. Loved the fried calamari and clams. Big lumps of lobsters on the rolls were also delicious. Service was good. A relaxing ambience!By Tammy Liu (2 months ago)Wow, how have I missed this place. Never been here before and oh was it worth it. Our wonderful server Olivia guides us to the best menu choices for our liking. The clam chowder was phenomenal. The clams casino was great. You have to try the best and goat cheese salad. Get it as a side instead of fries or other side. My wife loved the lobster roll. You know sometimes they can be two buttery or too much mayo? Not here. I had the fish and chips with side salad instead. The fish was crispy light and low grease. I would highly recommend reservations and a visit to this place.By Christian Petrarca (3 months ago)I have been here many times and the food is always excellent! The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The decor is lovely and the views are amazing. I really can’t say enough about how fabulous a restaurant it is !!! I usually get the oysters, but got the lobster roll . It was delicious and full of chunks of lobster meat. We started our meal with the clams casino … also wonderful .By D.L. N. (2 months ago)Came for an early dinner around 4:30 after a day at the beach and this was such a treat. Lucked out that we got a table inside without reservations. We sat upstairs by the window with a nice view of the water. Started with calamari and the oyster sampler. Both were fantastic. I had the lobster roll with the beet and goat cheese salad for my side. Another great choice. That sandwich had so much lobster meat! One of the best I’ve ever had. My friend ordered the seared tuna salad which was also great. Her tuna was fresh and cooked perfectly. The salad came with lots of fresh ginger which was also a nice treat to cleanse our palates after the meal. Highly recommend this place if you’re able to sneak in before the dinner crowd. The line when we left around 6:30 was quite long.By Patricia Bradby (3 months ago)This is one of our favorite restaurants. The oysters are so fresh and the food is so good. The steamers are fresh. They are some of the best I have had. The Bouillabaisse was excellent. It had a tomato based broth with cod, calamari, shrimp, and mussels. The grilled bread served with it had a layer of mustard (or some kind of mustard spread) on it which I thought was odd at first, but it paired so well with the broth it was delicious. Best chocolate torte I have ever had , it just melts it your mouth.By Donald Howe-Hughes (a week ago)

Waited five years to come here. Plans didn’t work out and covid came but finally got the chance to try this place. Weather is nice today. Still windy but overall didn’t lesson the experience in anyway. Seafood and steaks were incredible. Fruits were sweet and lots and lots of desserts to choose from. Soups were heavenly. Plenty of drinks and alcoholic beverages available. Staff is friendly and attentive. Couldn’t have asked for what is already exceptional service. Recommend others to try this place out. I’m happy I finally made it even if it took five years.By Jason Wong (7 months ago)This place sets the bar for all you can eat buffets. If your a seafood fan, this is the place to go. The prime rib section was fantastic, the desert bar was fantastic. I loved the outdoor area with all the hammocks. We definitely needed the hammock when I was done eating 4 plates of food.By Chris Kolacz (7 months ago)The Nordic is a great place to enjoy a seafood buffet. There’s your choice of lobster crag, scallops, shrimp cooked several ways, smoked salmon clams, oysters on a half shell. It offers a large variety including soups and salads. Just when you think you’ve had your fill, you realize there’s a desert bar. Full of fresh cakes and exotic fruit and ice cream that desire topping as an added treat, and don’t forget the cookies. The food was delicious. My only negative thought is that the lobster I was served was indeed over cooked. The staff was friendly, polite, accommodating, very fast with our drink orders and refills. The grounds at The Nordic was also very lovely. If time permits you can sit by the fire pit, lounge in a hammock or enjoy the scenery on one of their signature chairs. There’s even a like treat for the animal lovers. Right before entering The Nordic you can spot a beautiful horse and her foal, along with a few alpaca. I for one will certainly visit again.By Kathlene Middleton (5 months ago)We RSVP for my birthday and for the price, it was all worth it. The food was amazing and the establishment was great. After eating the DELICIOUS buffet, you can go hangout outside the animals, take a rest on the hammocks or get a drink and play yard games. Would definitely love to come back here once I’m back in the east coastBy L Mo (a month ago)I came up on vacation from Florida and had a chance to eat at the Nordic Restaurant. This place is run by professionals. The quality of the food was outstanding. Everything, I mean everything was hot and fresh. You see the food cooked right in front of you. I had a chance to chat with the owners and they are extremely friendly and customer oriented along with the staff. Everybody including the people cooking and serving were so friendly they made you feel at home. Hands down this is by far the best restaurant I have eaten at in 65 years. The owners know how to made their customers happy. I will tell everyone I know about this restaurant and I can guarantee you you will feel the same as me when you eat there. I highly recommend it and will be back even chance I get.By Bruce Provent (5 months ago)

Whether your lounged at the Salty Brine beach , coming off the Block Island Ferry, or just in the area , you should make your way here for a great experience. Come as you are , and enjoy live music , outside seating on both floors , and beautiful views from every angle of the restaurant. You will get a great sunset view from the open windows , on the 2nd floor bar. You almost feel like your on the ferry when it goes by, because it’s that close. It’s pretty busy , so be prepared to wait a little while , but the food is worth it . The staff and bar tenders are great , drinks are strong , and the atmosphere on a summer night , is unmatched. The Food was great, and always is when we make the trip, and It never disappoints . So slap on your sandals , dry off and get your sandy bottoms to George’s .By Kyle Phillips (5 months ago)This place was recommended to me while visiting from Texas for work in Providence. I’m so glad it was recommended. The food was absolutely amazing. The lobster bisque might be the best I’ve ever had. It certainly had the best nose, like butter heaven, of any I’ve had before. The lobster roll (cold) was great. Though I think I prefer hot with butter. I seriously can’t wait to go back for work mainly so I can go back and eat here! The draft menu was pretty good too with a few local options. The cocktail was menu also pretty good. The views on the beach were spectacular. Sunset was amazing. Don’t miss out on going here!By Raymond Taylor (a month ago)Absolutely love and recommend George’s of Galilee. The last time I was there I overheard someone say “I’m treating myself, I’m at George’s” and that could not be more true. Year round it’s a great place to enjoy a delicious meal. Options for all, a lot of seating, and in the summer they offer beach service. They do have parking in addition to conveniently being located next to public parking. Enjoy a great meal and watch the Block Island ferry sail by- you will not be disappointed.
pictured: hurricane calamari and b & brie sandwichBy Jillian Henthorn (10 months ago)We went on a Saturday for lobster and steak and It was amazing. The food was great, our waitress was friendly and helpful and the views were absolutely wonderful. While we were placing our order we all stopped to watch a harbor seal looking around and swimming right out in front of us. Take some time to enjoy some great food and recharge with the views of the ocean at George’s!By Kate Pariser (8 months ago)Went to George’s this past weekend and there’s many reasons why this is my favorite restaurant! The views are amazing, with the beach front and the boats and ferry’s that pass by. Their cocktail menu provides a variety of summery drinks, I had the mocktail which was a refreshing blueberry lemonade! The sushi here is to die for! I got the mango crunchy roll with salmon and the spicy tuna roll. Ate it up so fast I forgot to snag a pic! Definitely the best sushi I’ve had in a while. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out!By Kelly Strom (3 months ago)

This has to be the best restaurant in Newport, RI. I came here after reading all the great reviews and it did not disappoint. To start off, they give you warm bread with whipped butter. As a bread and butter lover, I can tell you that it was fantastic! Everything was delicious. I loved that the Seafood pasta had a hint of spicy to it. So good! The Berry Trifle was the perfect way to end the meal. Just an excellent meal overall. And the service was very friendly and attentive.By Chloe (2 months ago)I heard great things of this restaurant and I was very excited before visiting. However, the oysters were quite small than expected and the service was a bit slow. However, the seafood was really high quality and every seafood in each dishes was enlightening. The clam chowder was also nice, but my favorite is probably the lobster roll, as its quality was very good. Would recommend!By Fernando Graham (9 months ago)Came here for lunch and was very impressed. Food was delicious and service top notch.
Apps:
– Oysters, ordered a dozen and tried 3 different types sourced locally. Fresh and good. Comes with lemon, cocktail sauce w/horseradish, and vinegar
– Fried Calamari, the highlight of the meal. Cooked perfectly and very tender. Peppers were a bit spicy but addicting
– Caesar, traditionalEntrees:
– Lobster Roll, the quality of lobster is very good. Sweet and flavorful. Worth getting if you like lobster rollsBy Arthur Chin (2 months ago)MUST HIT IN NEWPORT!!! Great staff and great food – the perfect combination!! Had the clam chowder, oysters, and lobster claws. All was excellent. Great drink selection. Went back for dinner and had the lobster roll (insanely good – soft bread, tons of lobster), bag of donuts (lobster fritters – uh yeah!!), and New York cheesecake. All perfect with great service. Note – plenty of parking but it is a pay lot and you have a $9 minimum charge. That is the only negative.By Tim (9 months ago)Absolutely delicious seafood dinner! Exactly what I was looking for. The service was a little odd- definitely focused on their other tables around me, perhaps because I was alone? but I thoroughly enjoyed my first ever raw oyster (very flexible ordering menu), first ever whole lobster, and a decadent chocolate cake. The prices seemed reasonable for the fantastic quality of the food and setting up a reservation was easy.By Dee Kelly (7 months ago)

My Husband brought me here to celebrate my birthday and I couldn’t have asked for a lovelier night. From the moment we walked in, the staff made sure to take thoughtful care of us. Our server Dina was amazing. Not only does she really know the bountiful offerings both bar and kitchen, but she was able to help us pick drinks and food that blew us away. Her professional yet warm and friendly energy truly added to our dining experience. I also have to add that everyone from the host, hostess, and service attendant who made sure we never ran out of water, made the evening unforgettable. The lovely manager also gave us a little tour of the incredible igloos. Delectable food, warm atmosphere, incredible staff and views that will take your breath away, could ask for more!By Shirin Tinati (3 weeks ago)Rode motorcycles down, 7 of us. Had made reservations yet due to directions error we we’re an hour late. THE STAFF STILL HAD OUR TABLE HELD!!! Corner window table, unbelievable view! Our server Jeanelle was great! Prompt pleasant and courteous. The food was hands down DELICIOUS! Reasonably priced. Atmosphere and Location AMAZING! Will be going again, this place is Gorgeous and staff was overly accommodating.By James W Smith (7 months ago)Went to the Coast Guard House for lunch today and was well pleased. Terrific food, great service and what a view from the deck over looking the ocean. The food was extremely well prepared and delicious. The banana bread pudding was amazing for dessert! I will definitely visit again and I highly recommend it.By Paul J. Manning (6 months ago)Everything was delicious , I liked the lobster bisque, but could’ve use some lobster in it lol! The calamari was lightly battered and not greasy . Prices were great staff was exceptional. My server James E was the best. This restaurant sits on perfect views of the ocean. Definitely coming back.By Suwanna Anika (7 months ago)Wow! Amazing food, great service, delicious drinks, and nothing beats this ambiance. Probably the best risotto I’ve ever had, we sat outside in mid October, just lovely. My only thorn was the condition of the bathroom, but it was VERY busy and I mentioned it to staff and it was immediately rectified so I gotta give them the full 5 stars.By Tanisha Rosa (a month ago)
