The staff here was phenomenal. You always go to the four seasons for the experience. The food here was shockingly able to match the polished servers. Every bite was well balanced and delicious. The dishes just kept getting better. I’d highly recommend if you’re in the area. Make sure to book a reservation, it seems too busy to walk in most days

Vernick Fish was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in this city, and I’ve been dining here for over 7 years. The highlight for us was the scallop tartare on grilled sourdough, but really everything that we had was exceptional. I can’t recommend this place enough, but if you don’t like fish , it might be best to go somewhere else as the only entrée that they had that wasn’t seafood based was a grilled chicken which did look great.

Exceptional service and great food. The only thing that wasn’t to our taste was the five families cocktail- quite fruity for the fare. Uni spaghetti was a standout. We shared about 6 small plates and a dessert and it was perfect. Bill for 3 was around 320 with 6 drinks

Can’t go wrong with Vernick Fish for a company dinner, nice happy hour or simple a nice night out with friends. Everything in the menu is delicious. Staff and service was excellent. Their menu rotates and changes so items in pictures may differ. I really love the Tuna Tagliatelle. If it’s on the menu, 100% must try!

Excellent experience here celebrating my girlfriends 30th birthday with our friend. The two of them have dined here before, this was my first time which was an excellent experience. The food, drinks and service were impeccable. Highly recommend if you’re in center city for dinner, a special event or want to treat yourself/others! Thank you to the staff at Vernick. 10/10

This place was really good, happy hour was awesome. We had the oysters, smash burger, raw crudo, and the crispy chicken sandwich and loved all of it. Highly recommend!

Some of the best oysters I’ve ever eaten! I had to place a 2nd order they were that good! Their food was delicious and service was great. However, their oysters stole the show. Will definitely make another trip into the city just for those amazingly fresh oysters!

My husband loves oysters so we came here for their happy hour. They’ve got $2 oysters, $7 rum punch and $4 beers. There are also some shrimp sliders on the menu, but we didn’t get them. We loved the food!

Simply put, the best oysters I have ever eaten. I’ve had Wellfleet, Naked Cowboy, and Mystics before, but never this fresh and expertly shucked. Bright, clean, and accompanied by only the essentials (lemon, cocktail, mignonette), this was an unforgettable meal. The New England chowder, arugula salad, and lemon meringue tart were outstanding as well. Even the conversation about Chicago bike infrastructure with my cycling enthusiast server was a pleasure. This is now my spot for future visits to Philly.

Everything here was delicious! The lobster roll looks small but is actually quite full of lobster and the taste is really simple and focused on the lobster.

We had the happy hour oysters and also some clams–so good!

The only thing we wouldn’t recommend as much is the clam chowder–it was just okay and not that full of clams.

    5 stars just for oysters

If you’re craving oysters, this is the place for you! Out of the few places in Philly that I’ve had oysters, I have to say Oyster House has the best. Half the place is bar seating where you can see the chefs shuck the fresh oysters in front of you. They clean the oysters really well, barely any sand/dirt left. The best part is the $2 oysters during happy hours. My friends and I can each eat a whole dozen by ourselves because it’s that good!! I love the vinegar it comes with! And if you like spice, I highly recommend asking for hot sauce, it’s a game changer! Besides oysters, they have other seafood/platters but they’re pricey. Their mussels and scallops are decent, but not sure if it’s worth the price. I think I’ll just stick to their oysters at this place!

    *VERDICT*
Definitely would come again during happy hour whenever I’m craving oysters!!

We loved it! First time visiting. Location is a nice neighborhood section. We parked on street less than a block from the restaurant. Very nice welcoming atmosphere and the server was very attentive and pleasant!! Food was delicious. We shared a bang bang shrimp appetizer. I had the stuffed salmon and my wife had the short beef rib boneless Wellington. We also split a piece of raspberry cheesecake which was so creamy and tasty. The bill matched the taste and quality of the food so we’ll have to keep our visiting there for special occasions but that’s a good thing!! Look forward to sharing and visiting with friends and family again in the future for sure.

My girlfriend took me for dinner for my Birthday. She doesn’t eat seafood but knows I do and had heard good things about it. The seafood was very delicious and I enjoyed my meal. I got the broiled combo platter and added two 4oz lobster tails. I started with oysters of course. How can’t you at an Oyster house? She got the NY Strip. She only eats steak well done…I know but she likes what she likes. They offered a house made steak sauce that she really enjoyed. The only problem is that they weren’t close to well done on the steak temperature. She ate around the ends and enjoyed that. I got to enjoy parts of her steak that were a more acceptable temperature. We completed our meal with a creme brulee and it was so creamy and delicious. The service was good. A very pleasant meal. Thank you.

It was interesting experience to be at Youell’s. Staff and server were really good. Food was okay, we all were nuetral about it. Cocktails were big disappoint (we tried total 4, including a sangria flight) overall all drinks were extremely diluted and some sangria really sweet (like syrup).
The best part was the oyesters, they had multiple options and were fresh (should have raw oyster bar menu)

Had a great experience here. Such a cool location, ina residential neighborhood. Really nice inside also. Super deep selection of sea food and some other options. Had the crab cakes which were gluten free (NO bread filling!!). Wife had the lobster tempora which was out of this world. Kids liked it also and price was reasonable for what you get. We will be back.

** 2/4/22.. Great experience again. Steak had great sear and perfect pink inside. Lobster fettuccine amazing, seabass cooked perfectly.
    Waitress was also amazing.
So close to home, it’s a shame I don’t come here more often..

Haven’t visited here since 2018 but came back for brunch. Unfortunately it was a Saturday and brunch was only done on a Sunday.
Had lunch anyways. Order crab cake and mussels for apps. Both were delicious and flavorful.
Paella was also wonderful, lots of seafood including lobster.
The filet was tender and seasoned well but ordered it medium and it was more of medium well.
    Server was pleasant and attentive.
I will have to try the brunch here sometime when I’m not working on a Sunday.
    Pricey but does not disappoint.

Went for a lunch date. Ambiance is very good. Super wine and high end beer selection. I wanted the sea bass but was unavailable. I got the sashimi tuna and it was cooked perfectly. They forgot to bring the bread to the table and my salad. They forgot to bring my wife’s soup. The entrees were cooked very well, but it would have better with the sides we were promised. Server was good and attentive, just forgot some of our order. The calamari appetizer was good but not great. It’s expensive, but the seafood is very good. I would go back again

OMGoodness!! The epitome of fine dining!! Tim was the most awesome.😍 He made my Mother’s Day one to remember. My daughters loved him. His suggestions were perfectly suited to our tastes. Nothing was left out! The FOOD!! Was cooked to perfection. I thought maybe there was a famous guest chef in the kitchen that night, but that is how the chef does it!! Chef’s kisses to the chef 😘 I can’t wait to dine there again. Thank you for making a special day just that more special!

Decided to try off the hook (June 2022) while I was in Cranberry for a seminar with my girlfriend. The ambience was really nice and our server in training, Nicole I believe, was amazing.

We ordered the calamari appetizer which was absolutely incredible. Probably one of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the black grouper chorizo and cream style. It was decent but not amazing. And my girlfriend ordered the swordfish Caribbean style which she loved. We also ordered a side of lobster mashed potatoes which was phenomenal. For dessert, we had the Chardonnay peach cheesecake and the best ever carrot cake. The carrot cake definitely was up to them but the peach cheesecake was amazing as well. The photo is of the peach cheesecake by the way.

In conclusion we will definitely be back when we are in the area next. I’ll definitely try something else but I’m not going to let one dish that I’m not a fan of stop me from going back.

The strawberry salmon was fantastic as was the cheesecake with blueberry compote for dessert and everything in between! Service was superb and our table was ready at our reserved time. I definitely recommend and hope to come back again soon!

My wife and I celebrated our 49th Wedding Anniversary with our son and daughter in law. First time at Off The Hook and will definitely return. I ordered an appetizer with Salmon, Swordfish, Tuna, Crab Cake and Shrimp. My wife had Sole Almondine with risotto and I had Parmesan Swordfish with risotto. My son and daughter in law both had Seabass . Delicious.
Our Anniversary Dessert was Oreo Cake Balls.
