Great food. We had wanted to try this place out. It is right on the water. The food was great, we came because my husband and I like seafood. My sister had Chicken Parmesan, my husband and I had the Crab Stuffed Fish. Appetizer was Firecracker Shrimp & coleslaw. Sweet tea was great. Husband had Dr Pepper + Red Tide ( Bloody Mary). I had Back Porch Tea. We were so full, no room for desert, but all the dessert dishes on the menu looked great. We had a table with a view. Everything was great. The only issue was the wait for a table, food, and the check. The parking lot was full when we came, so I knew this place was good. Also, nice, clean restrooms.By Andrea S (10 months ago)Awesome dinner!! We were here a year ago and had an excellent lunch, this time we had dinner and it was just as delicious as we remembered. We made a reservation on line and requested a waterfront table if possible, we had a front row view of the sun setting. We started with the soup trio(gumbo, crab, and turtle) all are amazing. Then we both had the crab stuffed whitefish, for sides we had Caesar salad, baked potato, sautéed mushrooms, and brown rice. Everything was delicious and delivered hot to our table by our excellent server Kate. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert, it sounded amazing. The food is awesome but you don’t get service like this anymore, we definitely be back.By Melissa G. (9 months ago)What great fun Alabama gulf coast theme restaurant! A huge place with gray views out to the gulf of Mexico. The crowds are huge but the place is still plenty quiet to be able to hear your conversation The staff is highly trained and efficient. Our server, Amanda O is literally the best server we’ve ever had!! The menu is wide and varied, full of fresh fish of all sorts. You name the fish and they’ve got it. The seafood gumbo was delicious. The seared tuna was perfect and very high quality sushi tuna. The bar area is good. Prices are reasonable. We highly recommend.By Mike Longenbaker (9 months ago)Tried this place last night and it was definitely a home run. Started off with the oysters on a half shell and man did they hit the spot. Also had the fried crab claws and those were very impressive. But I had their signature fried platter that was unbelievably huge. Fried fish, oysters, green tomatoes, and shrimp…everything was on point. This is a place you must stop by and try out.By Bryan Edward (in the last week)This place wasn’t the worst, but it’s certainly not the best either. We stopped here while on a conference in Mobile. The food was a little pricey, portions were normal, fried dishes lacked seasoning. The Mac and cheese and cheese and cheese was hyped up just to let us down (it tasted like stouffers). The camp salad was interesting (heart of palm in it). The heart of palm reminds me of artichoke. But not as tasty. I wouldn’t return.By Marshae Black (3 weeks ago)

Charred oysters were the star of the show. Wish we had ordered more. We had an amazing hostess/waitress. ♥️
Most of the food was pretty good. Salad bar was great. Shrimp was a little bland and rubbery. Felt like the food could have been seasoned a little more. Soft shell crab was a little disappointing. The crab cakes were good. We visited during winter off season weekday. No wait time.
Very expensive. I would advise to go during lunch if you’re on a budget.By Berteena G (10 months ago)Decent place. Be prepared for a long wait. They do have shopping available nearby while you wait which is nice. I had the crab stuffed flounder, which was decent, however the crab was not to be found. The crab cake stuffing was the only presence in the dish but had zero flavor of crab or any visual evidence either. The flounder was good which made it a decent dish still. The cheese grits were great and the reds beans and rice were also worth it. Service was sub par, but it was nearing the end of the night and I’m sure our table had been set multiple times by that point.By Nick Tipton (2 months ago)Fabulous service and food. We had 12 in our party and Daniela did not miss a beat! The food was brought out in a timely fashion and everyone loved the food. I ordered a Hurricane and that was a great made drink. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Would definitely eat at again when in town.By Rebecca Morgan (8 months ago)Quality has gone downhill. We used to love eating here but the food was not nearly as good as it was a few years ago. The only thing that was really good was the hush puppies. The shrimp in the shrimp poboy were below average and the other dishes we got were not that great. You pay a lot for average food.By Adam Aldrich (7 months ago)We have been going to the Oyster House for years and years! This is our favorite little spot whenever we are in the area. We do date nights or family outings and it’s always a great time!! They have great seafood choices and generous portions, we always bring food back! Also ALWAYS TAKE THE SALAD BAR as one of your side choices. It’s so goood!!!By BradandJen McCleary (4 months ago)

Looked this place up on vacation and decided to give it a whirl! Seated rather quickly, even during the lunch rush. We a super friendly server and got our drinks and order taken quickly. It was plenty of food, my gosh it was a lot. I had the fried crab cakes with fried shrimp, the cakes were large and the shrimp extra plump. The girlfriend said the fried chicken was the best she ever have had. Fast place, yet Great food, you won’t be disappointed.By Tac (3 months ago)We ate a Doc’s while on vacation in June of 2022. We had been to a now closed location in Gulf Shores some 18 years ago. This location, while older and quaint, was very clean and the service was very good. My wife is not one for the “Mom and Pop” type establishments, but I talked her into it. The waitress was Smiley and friendly. She took our drink orders and came back with a picture of both. For the record, I do not understand why more restaurants don’t do this. Filling drink glasses only busies the server and can be very frustrating for the customer if you can’t get refills. Anyway, I liked that. She then came out with little sauce cups, and one had a dab of Horse Radish. Then she began to explain how to make your own Cocktail Sauce. Her instructions where clear and we had a fun time doing it. I have to say, that was the best Cocktail Sauce I have every had! The food came promptly, and everything was very good. There is a second location on Perdido Beach Blvd. We’ll have to try it next time. Worth a try!By TNridges (5 months ago)The restaurant is busy~~~~
We are in town on vacation, the hotel recommended this restaurant is one of must go at Orange Beach.
Food: 5/5
Kitchen preparing: 2/5
Serving: 4/5The staff said it’s about 50 minutes of wait when we arrived, later on they call us around 20 minutes after, so I assume they turn the tables quick.
After we got in, we ordered pretty quick and got the appetizers fast. But then they had some spikes on electricity and guess what!!! They lost our order and didn’t serve our meal till 40 minutes after…
Many other tables came in after us got their food way before ours, and I thought it could be because we ordered a large combination plate, so that’s why it’s taking longer than small plates??
Then the waitress finally realized she has not served our food and came to apologize, and asked us to wait a bit longer before they could serve us.
Overall the food was great, but I still can’t believe a spike of electricity can cause them to lose our order and make us wait an extra 20 minutes.
I had to tell our kids to just pretend that we are still outside waiting for them to call our numbers, so that can make them feel better.
By Johnson Wu (6 months ago)Atmosphere is very informal. The food came quickly and was hot. I tried their shrimp gumbo and was pleasantly surprised at it’s flavor. We chose the baked fish platter and the fried platter. Both were good. Will definitely returnBy Jodi Kuhlers (10 months ago)Some of the BEST seafood I have ever had! The Fried Shrimp is legit! Tons of food! Could not finish it all. The white fillet fish was yummy!
Wait was only around 45 minutes but well worth the wait. OH! & you get to make you own cocktail sauce! Go there & try it for yourself! & of course, had to buy some t-shirts before we left. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️By Jordan Williams (5 months ago)

Our first time in Gulf Shores and our first meal out set the bar high. We had been encouraged to eat here by friends with experience, and they were not wrong. Great “local” atmosphere and friendly folks. Food was delicious and portion sizes were great. Had the gator bites appetizer and it was yummy and tender (unlike the chewy, gristly “tourist” gator you get some other places). I had the daily catch (grouper) done Caribbean style and it was quite perfect. My wife had the broiled seafood platter (with the surprise option of sweet potato casserole as a side—yum!) Everything was great and we’ll certainly be back. We will also join all the others who recommend this as a “must” when visiting Gulf Shores.By Michael Massey (2 months ago)Delicious food and the friendliest staff. We were seated and had our orders taken in under 15 minutes. The food arrived shortly after and we were all impressed with the portion sizes. A great place to visit for seafood lovers!By Aliza Brown (8 months ago)Everyone in my group was talking up De Soto’s, so I had to go. We arrived and we were promptly seated and greeted by friendly wait staff.
The food was delicious, appetizers came quickly, and main dishes came before we had time to finish appetizers, and all of it came fresh and piping hot.
Fried food platter had quite a bit of food so even a plus size gentleman such as myself had plenty to eat. A genuine must visit for the area.
By Preston Buckner (7 months ago)This is a popular place with pretty good seafood. We really liked the coconut and grilled shrimp. Seafood gumbo was okay and the sweet potato casserole left something to be desired. Our service was initially very slow, unacceptably slow. We were seated at our table for 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table to check in and take our drink order. I don’t think we would come back because there are so many other local places to try.By Hannah Taylor (2 months ago)Food here is amazing! We also had a server Kebourne that worked his tail off to keep us topped off on drinks and whatever else we asked for.Alligator bites were yummy, bit chewy as alligator tends to be.
Wife had the catch of the day grouper and she really liked it. It’s a big portion more than she could eat by herself. I got the creole platter and it was delicious! Yummy blackened catfish, crayfish and gumbo. Kids had hamburgers and fettuccine Alfredo and they were very happy with that.

Stopped here for dinner. This place was busy we had to wait approximately 10 minutes for a spot at the bar. The staff was friendly and prompt. Our food was very good. My husband had a shrimp and flounder platter. There was so much food he didn’t even finish it. I had a fried shrimp platter and was very happy with it. Our sides were turnip greens, coleslaw and a loaded baked potato. We were happy with all of them. Also my husband had a bowl of gumbo he said was awesome. Great meal for reasonable prices. We will eat here again when we are back in the area.By Jane kinney (9 months ago)Great seafood restaurant. Great food and excellent service. We ordered grilled oysters, shrimp Alfredo, crab legs and flounder fish. All fresh and absolutely delicious. A little bit pricey but they have a lunch menu special until 3pm which is cheaper than dinner menu. They also have a happy hour from 4-6pm. I suggest that you go there early dinner since it gets very busy at dinner time. The restaurant has a beautiful views of the ocean.By Manny Alonzo (8 months ago)Fantastic dining experience! Everything, I mean everything that we ordered was delicious!! Fire grilled oysters were to die for. Waitress was very attentive and helpful. Very friendly! Food arrived hot, timely, and correct! Great atmosphere! We will certainly dine here again!By byron wilmoth (3 months ago)Great place for lunch. Stopped by because of the great reviews and…..they are pretty accurate! Got the oysters, lunch special grilled shrimp tacos with the added salad bar. All great choices! Would highly recommend!By Derrick Lei-Sam (9 months ago)We were told that we would be seated in 25 mins, we were seated in 10. The food came out pretty fast and all of it was correct. The lunch fish and shrimp was too big for me to finish and very tasty. I asked for cocktail so he made it fresh right at the table. Never seen that before! The fish tacos were great and everyone at the table was happy! Our server Blackmon did an excellent job!By Sarah Bennett (8 months ago)
