  1. The best zoo in the world in my opinion! Especially if you like tropical birds. They have a walk-in aviary with lots of beautiful, healthy pigeon/dove species and other birds from around the world. Some of them are very used to people and you can get great close-up photos of them. The other animals were cool to see too. You had your typical lions, tigers, and bears there plus some fun others like penguins and river hogs. Go there in the winter on a Wednesday and admission is dirt cheap!

  2. The exhibits were done well, and there were lots of animals to see up close! The whole zoo was laid out nicely and easy to walk. There were a lot of unique features that I haven’t seen at other zoos, and I left very impressed!

  3. I’m from Northern Kentucky and I frequent the Cincinnati Zoo and I have to compare this zoo to them. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the zoo and the variety of animals in the zoo overall. While it does not have as many animals you still have a very good representation of the continental areas they are covering. The biggest plus with this zoo is the amount of open space between exhibits and the help offered by the staff. They are very pleasant to deal with and helpful. I would definitely visit again when back in town!

  4. Above expectations. You can easily spend 7 hours there. Currently, South America and Australia was closed. Other than that must visit place. One of the largest zoo in the country. Lots of animals. $22 per adult and $4 for feeding giraffe or touching stingray.

  5. Very fun experience! There were so many different animals to see and interact with. We got to feed birds, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, and lemurs! Plus there were many other exhibits with many interesting animals! Great for kids and adults! Me and my wife loved it 🙂

Fun place with allot to explore. Good sized children’s garden playground and maze. Great for learning.

Awesome bird watching areas and plenty of beaches. We came in the winter but I can imagine it is beautiful when everything is greener and full of color.

Would love to come back in the summer.

what a lovely place to walk around. The flowers looked great, the rose garden was full if blooms(I do miss my roses back home). I didn’t go into the children’s area. Their displays with the ocean junk while very creative, it’s sad to know all that stuff ends up in the ocean instead if being recycled… They staff was super friendly and getting the gardens ready for Christmas. I will totally plan to go back with all the lights. Highly recommend visiting.

Great great time! We are visiting from out of town and a coworker recommended the Illumination! Glad he did! It was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The only downfall was that we ate supper before we went and just couldn’t enjoy the food carts or the outside bar with the fireplace, darn! Great Job! We can’t wait until next year and we will come hungry! Another side note, Everyone in Wichita was so nice and when we were stopped and taking photos of one of the displays, one of the employees stopped and explained who made it and how it was done, cool! Thanks, great people and great show! (Even the police directing traffic were so nice!)

This is a beautiful place to go! My Son and daughter-in-law were married at Botanical years ago. I 💕 love the 🌺 flowers and everything that goes with Botanical. You will feel blessed when you leave. I Grow flowers but could never keep up with Botanical! Love to be there.

Botanica is a beautiful fun filled wonderland no matter the season. Their Illuminations walking Christmas light tour in Winter is my daughter’s favorite! Visit in Spring to see the beauty of a land opening up and putting on fresh colors. Visit in summer for the lush greenery that seems to perfect to be real. Visit in fall to enjoy the colors of autumn. Honestly my photos don’t do it justice, you’ll have to visit to experience it for yourself.

This experience is a must! Walking up to the keeper some music can be heard in the distance. It takes you getting closer to realize that the keeper actually has music playing around it. The land in between is also considered sacred which just adds onto the experience. The land sits in between where Little Arkansas and Big Arkansas river meet. It was a hot and humid day but the excitement of seeing the Keeper of the Plains just gave me the jump I needed. The walls around the keeper hold all the history of the place. I would advise also reading up online as well for more details. I went when the sun was overhead during a lunch break and would advise you go when it is much cooler. A point to note is that the ring of fire is not lit during the weekdays. My fellow travelers complained about having to wait for the ring of fire and nothing happened. I believe it is only lit on weekends at 7pm and 9pm. Unfortunately I did not stay over the weekend but I look forward to my next visit to Wichita so I can catch the full show.

I could see it in the far distance from my hotel window, decided to walk and then ended up riding a scooter on the riverside to see it. It did not disappoint. Lovely area with water falls and plenty of spots to walk around and take pics. The area along the river walk has lovely tribute to native Americans. Many little status fountains and structures along the way to keep one entertained. It was a fun walk to get to the statue and fun to hang around it and take pics.

You can access the Keeper of the plains over two different walking bridges and each side has parking. The walk is easy and short.

Day or night it’s a nice place to visit. If you can plan around it, try to see it when they have the torches lit at night for a short period from 9pm-9:15pm pending good weather.

Tranquil peaceful walk amazing views of bridges and downtown Wichita with native music playing in the background. Lighting of the fire is a must see. Hearing the river flow over rocks and damn is amazingly peaceful. Learn as you look with sculptures and descriptions of Native American culture. Veterans memorial along river walk adds to culture history. feed the ducks and geese recommend fish pellets as bread can breed bad algae and smells.

Absolutely enjoyed my walk around the keeper. Soundscapes music was playing. Very educational. The rivers meeting there with a small damn that was nice. Very peaceful here. There is scooter rental also. I went back at night for the lighting
So beautiful It was warm by the flames. Families sit on the river bank as well. Very well lite area at night and safe
