This is such a unique place to visit, both the home and the other buildings. The original house is full of interesting architecture and a mix of interior design elements I haven’t seen combined like this anywhere else.
The other sections host a variety of collections, giant automated musical performance displays, whimsical scenery, and a lot of near-magical surprises. Like my personal favorite since I was little, the indoor carousel.
If you want to see all three sections arrive at least 3 hours before closing time.

Highlights of the trip would probably include the whale, the carousel, the infinity room,(provided you don’t mind heights) the Japanese garden, as well as other rooms with many treasures to be seen, and it is even worth your while to check out the bathrooms on your way though as some have hidden treasures as well that are easily missed. Only bad thing is a very large museum and requires a lot of walking, so plan on almost a full day on your feet if you want to see it all!By David Vande Vyver (5 months ago)I don’t know where to start…fortunately you will because there’s plenty of signage! Amazing place, a must see when in the area. By far the most interesting attraction in Wisconsin! Just be sure to give yourself at least 6 hours to see and enjoy. There are a few cafe areas, one was open, which is nice since we were 3 hours in and only halfway through. Definitely take your time, soak it all in!By Chris Fellure (8 months ago)The house on the rock is an incredible, overwhelming jumble of fascinations. The artist’s hand shows in the collection, the eclectic juxtaposition, and the worldview displayed. As an artistic installation and collection this is a joyful explosion. That said, I think it needs to be given more context for the modern audience. The welcome center would do well to give a critical eye to the methods of the artists and the appropriation of culture that is rampant throughout. This place is now a time capsule of worldviews from between 70 and 30 years ago. Some of which is presented in a way that suggests an educational worth.
This is not a museum of history. It is an artistic installation of fascinations that are now a part of the history of the work. That is a nuance which visitors should be prepared to appreciate as a part of the presentation.By Ansel Burch (Ansel Burch) (a month ago)Amazing experience to learn about the creator and original owner. It’s even more jaw dropping to see what he has amassed over the years. He collects items from multiple different cultures and across all sorts of time periods. There are tokens you can purchase and use to interact with various parts of the house.I recommend purchasing tickets for all parts of the house and allocating at least 4-5 hours if you want to see everything reasonably / not rushed.

I loved hiking here. We returned several times, enjoying the beauty and the challenges.
This trail gives you plenty of opportunities to increase your exercise challenges while offering options for breaks. The views are breathtaking, and found many unique things to entertain ourselves en route. For example, we found an old pioneer school we visited halfway through the trail we selected, which was giving a summer session to kids. They let us observe and told us about the history. Also, there was a giant beach chair to climb on.
You can opt to camp here – there’s RV hookups even. We just parked and hiked, but it was my favorite of the places to do so. The trails were well maintained and the wildlife plentiful.

Northup (6 months ago)This is a great spot to stretch your legs and get some great pictures with the family.. their rock formations are excellent and their trails are easy to move on. Theirs also a section for rock climbing and repelling down though I’m not sure tho costs on that part of it..they let u go down and close to everything and theirs a fairy there also which takes u up an down the river next to it so u can see even more stuff.. me and my wife had a great time.. it’s worth an HR to walk around and also restaurants n the area for lunch before hitting the interstate again to head home.. our first time going but definitely not our last when we r in the area again…By Adam Howes (8 months ago)We visited the Minnesota side on this very nice, warm March Day. We were surprised the Parking area near the “pot holes” was closed and there were no rest rooms available either. Considering that you have to pay for these parks , I expected a little more.Don’t misunderstand, we love these parks and spent a couple hours on the trails! The trails are a bit icy and grippers on your boots are a must! The river is opening up and was beautiful as usual, we recommend a stop at this park even this time of year!
By Like2be Fishing (10 months ago)Speaking from an RV camping experience perspective. Relatively smaller state park within easy striking distance from the Twin Cities. Good vertical tree shade but mostly smaller sites without side-to-side privacy. A few nice hiking trails with access to beautiful overlooks, historical points of interest, and Taylors Falls. Boat launch is adjacent to the park and you can walk the shoreline from there.Most sites seemed a bit narrow, with some leveling issues, but there were plenty of bigger rigs there, and larger non-electric sites. If tent camping try to secure site 21 which has a beautiful view of the water and sunrise.
Site hosts gracious and welcoming. Firewood, ice, beverages and random gear at the ranger station. Clean bathrooms and separate shower rooms (2 shower stalls in men’s shower room).
We stayed 3 nights, but seemed like a popular destination to arrive early afternoon, hike that afternoon and following morning, and depart the next afternoon.
Highly recommend.

Big potholes and lots of history to enjoy. 3-4mile loop that’ll bring you by basalt river cliffs, sandstone cliffs, the remnants of an old railroad track that helped build the area. Amazing museum. Great fun, very informative & interactive, detailed history. A must-visit for Harley-Davidson fans and enthusiasts.
Love the bikes displayed chronologically from the first make till the latest one.
Best part is that we can touch, feel, sit on some bikes and take photos.
The gift shop is good.
The outdoor area next to the river is beautiful.

This place was awesome! Was so impressed with how much information and how many bikes they had. Does a great job of truly portraying the history of Harley Davidson. Any fan of motorcycles, history, or even if you simply have some time to kill, the place is well worth it and the restaurant across the way isn’t half bad either
Being a huge fan and considering these motorcycles world’s most sophisticated and beautiful, visiting this museum was the top reason for our day trip from Chicago.
I found the entry fee slightly over 20$ reasonable for exhibition spreading on 2 floors and top vault.
Museum is well organized. The first floor (where you enter) starts with founding explanations, first models produced, HD role in WWI and WWII as well in almost all public services.
Most interesting on the lower floor (ground floor) for me were the custom made and decorated models which are indeed work of art.
The Harley-Davidson Museum experience is phenomenal! Whether you are into motorcycles or not, the rich history and beauty of the motorcycles will 100% capture your attention. Chalk full of informative and well thought out displays, you could easily spend hours touring the museum. The entire Harley-Davidson campus is easy to navigate and parking is available on site. This is a bucketlist must see!
Very good experience. Unexpectedly huge place. So much history, original blue prints interactive media that will allow you to understand the combustion process, the difference between the twin motors….. amazing. And bar drinks and food were also pretty good.
