  1. We had never been to San Diego before and really struggled on deciding where to stay. We settled on Best Western Island Palms because it was more affordable and close to all the places we wanted to visit. We absolutely loved it! We had a second floor room at the end near the parking garages on the bay side, for 3 nights. The kids loved watching the Navy Carriers and Destroyers float by in the mornings! The room was spacious and clean, with two queen beds and plenty of room for the pack n’ play we brought. The beds were comfortable and everyone slept really well. With the fan on we had no noise issues; we didn’t turn it off for our whole stay so I can’t say what the noise was like without the background noise of the fan. The patio was wonderful to sit and look out at the bay. The kids loved swimming in the pools and walking along the marina behind the hotel. The restaurant was pricey but the food was really good, and the staff were so friendly, especially toward the children. We already plan to stay here again the next time we visit San Diego!

  2. First, the staff here is excellent, that alone makes me want to come back. They are kind, friendly, accommodating when they can be, and very helpful. The place is quiet, has great amenities, and is clean. There are a few areas that need some improvement, for starters the fire show was nice, but it was poorly planned. At the beginning of the show, the performer had to stop to rush to the gate to tell a guest they couldn’t enter through that way. The hotel should have already had that area roped off or locked to get people from entering. Second, the area the performer was dancing in (with fire) was wet from the pool water and she almost slipped multiple times, they should have roped it off well before the show to ensure her safety. The fire dancer is a good idea but it was poorly executed. Next the sliding blinds in the marina rooms are really sticky/dirty at least our room was and need to be cleaned between guests. There were some people smoking pot in the pool area around kids and I wish the hotel would have checked in on the pools more frequently. Easy enough fix, we went to the other pool as this hotel has two. Other than that, this place was super nice to stay in and we will likely stay again when in the area.

  3. I requested an earlier check in and they were nice to honor my request. The studio room was very spacious and our room opens to the marina and has windows with the marina view. The hot tub and swimming pool area next to the marina was very beautiful and relaxing. You really feel like you are on a vacation here. Lovely hotel! Hope to return in the future.

  4. Great place to stay with a resort like atmosphere. Rooms are comfortable and most have great views. The rings do cube with a microwave and mini fridge which is a huge plus for me
You are walking distance to several restaurants and they have a decent restaurant on site.
There are two pools which are both nice
The downside for me was the nickel and diming that a lot of places now do. The quoted price per night looks great until you add things like multiple taxes, $25 per night to park, resort fee etc .. Plan to add about 25% to the nightly room charge

  5. While there are other nice hotels in San Diego I am sure, this was the first place we stayed when we moved to San Diego 10 years ago, and last place we are staying as we leave California for good (woohoo!). This is easily the cleanest hotel we have stayed and the staff are very professional. The property is quiet large but they have a couple golf carts for guests with mobility limitations.

We always recommended our friends and family stay here when visiting as it is beautiful and recently renovated. You won’t find any better for the price! …which is often comparative to the price of two and three star San Diego hotels. Great value, comfort and amenities with an amazing view on either side (marina or ocean).

    You can’t go wrong here!

Upon my arrival, the staff member greeted me with a warning smile and provided me with all necessary information regarding my stay, about the surroundings area and other relevant information about the property.

Property is set a nice neighbourhood, which is safe and full of things to do, there’s supermarket, restaurants, petrol station with a 24/7 shop and also access to a public transport within a walking distance from the property that can takes you all over LA.

You’ll find a self parking space throughout the property, vending machines with snacks, coffee, and beverages. The property also have a gym space if you fancy working out, and a swimming pool.

The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, well maintained with cleaning services and toiletries replenish daily. Staff are very carrying and attentive ensuring that your stay are pleasant at all times.

I had an extremely pleasant stay at BW Plus Carriage Inn on my recent visit to California and I certainly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to Los Angeles.

This was our host hotel for our motorcycle club national annual event and they were more than accommodating and the rooms were clean, spacious and on point. Only complaint was the fact that there were no microwaves, those came at a $5 a day extra cost, but we survived just fine and they were more than understanding of all the bikes in and out day and night. Good central location with plenty close by in walking and driving distance and a 24/7 Dennys right there in the parking lot as well. Plus we were only about 20 minutes from Santa Monica Pier, so that was amazing. Very pleased with our weekend stay, checked in Thursday with ease and out Sunday with the same to smiling, helpful staff.

BEWARE—— BED BUGS!!!!! 0 stars if I could!! Stayed here from out of town for a last minute family event. The hotel has a bad crowd hanging around & homeless. The areas aren’t clean, trash everywhere- but that’s not even the worst part. THEY HAVE BED BUGS! BEWARE!!!! I’ve never dealt with this anywhere else in my life, and that says a lot because I’m from Vegas! I had no clue what this was I took her to the ER. Had to foot a bill, and medication for her! We books through a 3rd party website so the manager Anthony wasn’t much help, other then saying ” I need to investigate this ” – I will say as soon as we refunded form the hospital I demanded a new room & that they did. However I’ll say when I said they had bed bugs they looked *unsurprised* and switched the room. However that room also had bugs! I would have switched hotels but I already spent over $500.00 at this one and didn’t have the time to do that due do time restrictions. I kindly asked for a refund for every night expect the first. We will see how that goes!!

Your hotel staff that helped me check in was very polite, quick and helpful. I also came in contact with a housekeeper Monday morning she was very nice and gave me my coffee that I needed. Thank you for making this stay very enjoyable. Would definitely come stay here every time I’m in LA. Also perfect location off the 405 and 101. Oh and most importantly it was Clean Clean Clean which is hugeeeee for me!!!!!

Book this hotel if you want to hear your neighbors conversations. Smell whenever someone in the parking lot or hotel is smoking (even though the hotel has signs posted everywhere that say it is a non smoking hotel — but it is NOT enforced in the slightest). Hear and smell when the person in the room next to you is taking a dump. Or just generally don’t want to rest or relax comfortably.

Also it should be noted we brought up this concern 5 times to the hotel staff. Not once did the staff seem to care or attempt to remedy the problem at all. Their only solution was us moving to a different room. Which isn’t practical at 10 pm with 3 small children.

The staff were very friendly and had great customer service for the entire stay. The rooms were very clean, large, and updated with all the amenities. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and lots of fun. The free coffee station in the morning was a big plus and very convenient. Having the hotel pair up with the restaurant across the parking lot with a 15% off your entire bill if you show a hotel key card was a great addition and made us want to go back multiple times.

Seems newer or remodeled. Our double queen room was well cleaned and smelled fresh. Plenty of towels. Air conditioning was relatively quiet and cooled our room quickly. Be aware that the hotel is pet friendly, so you may hear the occasional bark(ing). No breakfast service, but there is a restaurant next door on the same property (no discount for hotel guests).
Conveniently located to the 5 North & South on-ramps. Ample parking during our visit in mid July.
Bottom line, would definitely stay here again.

IMPECCABLY CLEAN ! Comfortable beds. Nice staff. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean this budget hotel was. “Marina” sort of gave us the wrong impression regarding location. It’s more in a Industrial shipping/military base area – not much to see – but it’s close enough to nice beaches, etc. The free wifi, free parking and CLEANLINESS won us over. We even extended our stay. Great find!

Stayed here for a wedding. There is limited parking spaces. It gets filled up very quickly if you come back too late. There is no soundproof wall so I can hear children laughing and whining throughout the night. The front desk doesn’t have any snacks or medical emergency items for sale which forces you to go out and look for a close by Walgreens to get it yourself. The room I stayed in sink smelled so bad and the ventilation in the bathroom barely ventilated any smell.

Very nice experience staying at this hotel. Very nice and clean place. Smelled like Gardenias as soon as we walked in the lobby. The rooms were roomy and very clean. Personnel was very professional, friendly and really helpful.

I booked a last minute getaway and decided to stay at this location not knowing what to expect. I checked in for two nights on 7/14/22 and the front desk agent was very kind and respectful. All staff were very kind throughout my stay and very hardworking. I had a kitchenette room that I absolutely LOVED and felt very comfortable in. The room was very clean, organized, and had all the essentials. I really liked all that this hotel had to offer, including the pool area. There was plenty of parking and easy access to the freeway. Breakfast was nice too. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Not only were the rooms wonderful but the service was excellent. Checking in was quick and easy and the room was clean and spacious. The hot breakfast was amazing, especially since other hotels offer air for breakfast. I felt safe at this property and had no worries about my car or leaving my room. They did provide housekeeping and were happy to provide extra towels. The pool and hot tub were clean and well taken care of as well. If we take a trip this way again, we will definitely be staying here.

We loved staying here. Very close to the beach and freeway. The hotel was really clean. They provided a nice breakfast and 24 hour coffee and iced water. The pool and hot tub was clean. They clean your rooms everyday and the staff was extremely friendly! Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel was well put together and in a great location easy access to the highway and many walking distance restaurants. Eric made booking my large group reservation simple. Even with a split reservation for half my group. Andy and Agustin were extremally friendly and helpful, knew the area well, pointed out a lot of local spots for us to try out and enjoy. The staff overall was extremely friendly and more than willing to always help.

The cleaning/room service staff did an excellent job every day.

While this hotel does not offer much of a ocean view, it makes up for on the rooms and service. There is parallel parking spots along the building if you are traveling in a larger truck which is really nice, plus plenty of parking. The guys at the front desk were really nice. Only negatives my family had was other guests with zero manners. One guy by himself on the elevator wouldn’t let us on because he was going up and we needed to go down. And even though the staff does great at keeping the breakfast stocked, quite a few people in the morning were super impatient and were literally reaching over us while we were getting food. Rooms were nice and clean, small fridge and microwave and nice bathroom. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip and hope other guests remember to pack their manners lol.

I think this may be the most under rated hotel I’ve seen near Disneyland!
We have stayed at TONS of different places near Disneyland over the last 6 years. I think this may be my favorite so far because the price is fair, service is great, location just as good as any other and it is CLEAN! We’ve stayed at other much more expensive hotels and have found food under the bunk beds, bugs in the beds. I’ve looked this room over, under the mattresses and it is spotless. A little outdated.. yes. But I think it’s the best value. We had the family room with bunk beds (1 queen bed) and it was comfortable for the 7 days we stayed with our family of 5.

Within easy walking distance to Disneyland (20 minutes). Clean quiet room. Pool and Jacuzzi where clean. Our first room (238) was somewhat dark and dated but comfortable. Due to our error, we spent the last of 5 nights in a different room (338). Big difference! Remodeled, spacious and much more light. Breakfast was very clean and well stocked. Lots of variety. Recommend you check this hotel out.

The staff were amazing and the location was perfect to get to Disneyland. Lots of amenities in the area and we felt very safe in this location.
My only criticism was our shower head wasn’t working well, we mentioned this and the front staff was on it immediately. Excellent experience and will definitely stay again and fully recommend this location to others!

I really enjoyed my stay, nice clean quiet room, very friendly staff, great amenities and the free breakfast was delicious, had great variety and was greatly appreciated. The double sinks in the bathroom were great. The close proximity to the toy story parking lot shuttles made getting to Disneyland very easy. Will stay again.

The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. Great free breakfasts every morning, clean, well maintained rooms, rooms fit for small groups or larger families (bunk beds and pull out couches for the kids/in-laws), excellent pool and hot tub area, plenty of parking. Close enough to Disney parks to walk, or quick access to ART buses to take a break from walking. Not too far from a handful of stores and restaurants within walking distance.
