Great ocean and pool view!!! Spacious rooms. Very clean and nicely appointed. Staff was efficient, but not very friendly, thus the reason for the four stars. TV remote was working intermittently only allowing me to see two channels. I just wanted to watch the news while I got ready in the morning and was unable to do so. Ample well-lit parking lots. I was only there one night, but would definitely stay again.By Marlene McMurray (in the last week)After a rough start to our trip and trying out 2 places that were less than desirable, Canyon at the front desk was sympathetic and extremely accommodating for us. She helped us find the perfect room for our stay. The room was clean, HUGE, and the bathrooms were well kept. Beds were comfortable and seemed to be updated as well. We were there for my daughters dance competition and Canyon made her feel so special every time we came and went from the hotel. Breakfast management was on top of their game keeping tables clean and the buffet in order. Next trip to Galveston we will absolutely stay here again! Can’t say enough good things about their staff. Good customer service is hard to find these days. 5 stars!By Chris Mize (5 months ago)This is a nice hotel, I prefer to stay here while in Galveston. All rooms are Ocean view. If there is a situation with accommodations the error is quickly modified. We were welcomed to take our bikes into the room and that was a plus. The concierge name is Edward and He is a wonderful person. Breakfast is very good and plentiful. Overall a good place to stay.By Sandra Peterson (6 months ago)Great experience there. Big clean room with a great shower head. Pool is kind of small but it’s really nice and clean. One of the best Continental breakfasts I’ve seen at a hotel. Great location right across from the beach and close to a lot of things that we wanted to do. Will definitely come back here next time I go to GalvestonBy Matt Brandt (4 months ago)Great hotel. Right across the street from the beach. All rooms have an ocean view! Great for families. It if west of all the busy “bar/night life/restaurants/entertainment”. So its a bit more quiet and the beach is not so crowded. Friendly staff. Clean property (well as clean as a beach hotel gets, Sand gets everywhere).
Definitely coming back!By Jacob Brewer (4 months ago)

Room was clean. Shower clean. Not sure how old hotel is, but use some silicone touch ups specially around shower. Hotel right across airport and next to mall. Only draw back was when walk outside the smell is bad like the place is next to a sewage treatment plant. No smell inside though that was plus. Breakfast was good. No bacon that day though. Not deal breaker. Enjoy the little cozy hotel. Pricing wasn’t bad.By Armando Cantu (2 weeks ago)I’ve been at the best western plus for over a month now. The entire stay the staff has been so attentive and welcoming. I tell everyone it’s my home away from home. When I come to the hotel in the evenings I am always welcomed in such a warm way by Alma. Every single time I see her she always makes me feel so special! She always asks how my day was and if there’s anything she can do to make my stay better! I’m actually sad to leave and I’ll miss our small conversations. I only wish I can take her with me! I feel extremely safe here and if I ever make my way back to McAllen this will 100% be the hotel I choose! Thank you! -TheresaBy Theresa Maskovich (3 months ago)Happy hour is my favorite thing about this place free beer and pulled pork sliders. Rooms are great. Prices for a room felt higher but the breakfast and Happy hour well prices are good across McAllen airport easy to walk well worth the price staff are very friendly and helpful in anyway. Alma is amazing helpful and makes sure you have eaten.By Martin Salinas (2 months ago)DO NOT RESERVE AT THIS PLACE!!!! They discriminate individuals looking for work with disabilities, how is one supposed to support themselves with places such as these who don’t even give people chances. Laws states as such “The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities and guarantees equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodations, state and local government services, and telecommunications.” Until they get it right and educated, I will spread a bad words towards this place!!By netty orca (a year ago)I loved this hotel. Employees where nice and clean, pool was amazing. House keepers are nice they clean our room everyday. Thank yall(: I recommend this hotel 100%!!By daniela espinosa (4 months ago)

We were in town to attend a graduation and had a very pleasant experience. We had 2 rooms that were clean and comfy. The only issue was one of the rooms had a refrigerator leaking but I report it as we checked out. The front desk staff and the sweet lady who handles the breakfast were amazing and super friendly. They recommended a shuttle service that we used and even recommended a fantastic Mexican restaurant that we enjoyed. The lobby was always clean. I would recommend this place to others and would definitely stay again.By Rose Quidachay (a month ago)Close to Lackland AFB, but a little tricky to find. Breakfast was good… particularly the huge waffles. Eggs were powdered- but…saving money and all, they weren’t horrible. The bed was made and fresh towels every day!- nice! Front desk was helpful and kind every time. Breakfast staff was super friendly.By Barbara Kuhn (a month ago)This place is a mixed bag of feelings. Concierge was super friendly and helpful. Our room had food from previous guests in the fridge. Beds were done nicely but everything else was kind of overlooked. Overall it’s an old place and just in our room three cockroaches were running around in multiple locations. When we arrived the AC unit was off which created a smell and a whole lot of humidity. The bathroom is full of mold, corrosion and dust. Towels were provided but no soap, we had to go back to the front desk. This is a convenient location to stay in in our case it was just an overnight so it worked out. Rooms were quiet and AC after a while it did it’s job and room was cool.By Alan Marrero (4 months ago)The hotel was an excellent choice for us to visit family nearby. The buffet breakfast choices in the mornings were plentiful and tasty. Our room was easy to keep cool during the record breaking heat in San Antonio this summer (2022). The staff was helpful and pleasant. At times the noise level was a little distracting very early in the morning or later in the evening, but didn’t carry on for so long it was a nuisance.By Sherry Tew (4 months ago)Oh gosh. There was some good. The staff was nice. The location seemed safe.
We were seldom in the room the first day/night of our stay and didn’t notice anything amiss other than a VERY poor shower which needed replaced and an air conditioner that raised temperature randomly.
We had to track down bedding for the pull out bed for our son, and the underside of the mattress had pepperonis and trash.
This morning, we noticed roaches both in the bathroom and around the air conditioner and there are blood splatters on the curtains.
The lady at the front desk seemed unconcerned, and said it’s
To be expected with the area construction. Based on previous reviews by others this has been an ongoing issue for some time now.We would not recommend this hotel if other options exist. I wish I could add pictures here.

We loved this hotel! Downtown, so close to so many great sightseeing places. When we got there we were a bit surprised by how small the rooms were. It was my husband and 2 kids, so it did feel a bit crammed, but we made it work! We were a bit shocked to see there wasn’t much parking, but HECTOR gave us great information and was so helpful! He let us know that the parking spots next to the hotel did get towed quickly…like he ran out and assisted me and my 2 small children while my husband paid for parking. He also gave us information on the valet and made our time at the hotel feel so much more at home. He definitely helped us out with parking and provided so much information! We are SO thankful to him! Hector gets 5 stars!By Mayra Hagood (6 months ago)Hotel was clean and staff were extremely friendly. Amanda the GM greeted us so we’ll. I enjoyed my stay my check in was at 4 but they were able to check me in earlier and I did the booking same day. Breakfast was hot and very delicious. 10/10 recommend.
Valet parking I did not have the best experience, but it’s very convenient if you don’t want to pay the public parking. Again really be careful if you have really nice vehicles our was “vandalized”. Make sure you let them know to please leave it in a gated parking spot. It’s stressful situation, but we were able to find a solution they really didn’t help much but just to file a report. I’m not sure if they really didn’t want so they wouldn’t take responsibility’s or they really couldn’t do none about it.
Still want to give them a good rating only cause the stay was amazing and beautiful. Everything is at walking distance.
By liliana jaramillo (3 months ago)Good location, nice room. This was a good choice for my visit to San Antonio, it’s just a short walk to the Alamo and to the Riverwalk. A bit longer walk to the Tower of America but manageable. The room was very nice, it exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was good. The pool was small but was clean and no one else was using it so I was able to swim a bit. The open skylight above the pool is cool. Overall a good place to stay. There were a couple mentally challenged homeless people roaming the area and one slept on the street at night, but they kept to themselves and didn’t seem to bother anyone. I imagine you’d find that anywhere downtown. I didn’t use the parking as I didn’t pick up a rental car until leaving the area. I used the San Antonio city sightseeing hop off hop on bus for 1 day to see things like Market Square, etc. If you are staying in the area longer you could probably use the city Via bus instead of renting a car.By Lisa Skalecki (2 months ago)Rooms need a bit of work, but the service is excellent. Lisa was very helpful. The breakfast was a bit less than other Best Westerns we’ve stayed at but was still very good. Parking is Valet only and is quite pricey. Very close to The Alamo and River Walk. Next door parking lot gets a bit noisy.By Al (2 months ago)Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The room was small but clean and had all the necessary amenities. However, if you’re sensitive to sound or smells, this may not be best for you. Road noise from Broadway carried on past midnight. Racing cars awakened us more than once. Also, the hotel adjourns a restaurant which serves curry. I personally love the fragrance of curry so that did not bother me, but the synthetic air freshener used in the lobby to presumably cover up the curry was far too strong and gave me a headache. Thankfully the fragrance wasn’t as strong in our 3rd floor room, but it still lingered in the hallways. Finally, be advised that the only real parking option is the $35/day valet service. The valet employees took great care of us, and the app system worked great!! Thank you!! However, the extra expense could take people off guard if not prepared.By Lisa Hyde (4 months ago)

Here is our list of the top 10 Best Western International Hotels in Texas – based on expert opinions and customer reviews. Did your favorite spot make the cut? Let us know in the comments above!
It was a nice clean hotel. The front desk was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really good and deluxe. They have like every option you could think of- burritos, hash browns, eggs, waffles, muffins, cereal, juice. If you want to be downtown, it’s not super close, as in, you can’t walk. But we kind of liked being a bit removed from the busyness of downtown. It’s only like a 5 minute drive so it was close enough for us because we rented a car. It was in a nice, safe neighborhood. The pictures online make it look nicer and newer than it actually is, but it was still great.
Stayed at this motel…won’t go so far as to call this a hotel…Friday and Saturday night. I went into the bathroom Friday night in our FIRST room and was a little shocked to see a huge cockroach in the shower, just hanging out on my razor. Let the staff know the next morning and they offered to let us change rooms. So we did. Went out for the evening Saturday, had a blast. Got to our SECOND room, went into the bathroom and there is another huge cockroach running on the counter after I tossed my toiletry bag on the counter. Called the front desk again. The solution was to change rooms again. After having several drinks and having unpacked again for the second time already, I refused the room change. I informed the gentleman that I would not change rooms, however I would expect a return of my $300 paid for a disgusting motel. Of course, the night clerk has no control over that and informed me I can speak to the manager in the morning when he/she comes in at 10:00. I will be sure to do this in front of guests checking out so they can be sure to check their belongings to make sure they’re not bringing home any roaches. I’ve stayed in hotels, as most have, innumerable times over my lifespan. I have never seen a cockroach in any single one of my stays and I’ve stayed in some pretty shady places before, unfortunately. Do not stay here! If you do, bring Raid!
Good location, close to everything. A full free breakfast served in their adjoining restaurant Opal Divine’s. A series of breakfast burritos, breakfast biscuits, and waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and oatmeal upon request. The rooms are a little small, but still a decent size. Room cleaning is upon request and if you’re staying more than just a night or two you’ll have to request more towels. Our only complaint about our stay is that our upstairs neighbors were really loud. We think it mostly had to do with the integrity of the building. Whenever they walked around you could hear very loud squeaking and creaking. It almost sounded like metal springs stretching and compressing throughout the ceiling. We stayed on the 1st floor in room 137, not sure if this is something that happens throughout the building but it was a constant when the occupants in room 237 were moving around. It was bearable most of the time, knowing that it wouldn’t last forever. Overall, a good stay, but would probably request a room on the top floor.
The staff member that helped check me in was cool. Unfortunately that’s where the positive part of our stay ends.
I’ll save most of the details of this place, it’s a freshly painted motel with a bar. Not bad but definitely not at the hotel quality.
During our night, we heard crickets making cricket noises at about 2 am. At first we assumed it was outside, but the cricket was so loud re realized it was in our room.
Not the most comfortable stay to say least, so my wife and I got up and looked for this cricket for about 30 minutes in our room. We finally found it and got rid of it.
The following morning we woke up with mosquito bites on all three of us, my son, my wife, and myself had several bites on us the following morning.
We had to leave early, so we didn’t bother checking where the crickets and mosquitoes were getting in were. But just know you’ll be sleeping with crickets and mosquitoes if you get room 156.
I expected a lot better considering what we paid for this place.
Awesome place! I made a weekend trip last minute and didn’t regret it! This place is immaculate. Everything is practically brand new. The check in was painless. They give advice too on visiting the Austin night life. I decided to have dinner and a drink at the restaurant. Great choice. It was a cozy bar. The food was really good too. The lobby has plenty of coffee and water. I’ll definitely make this place my first choice for weekend trips! Kudos!
