  1. Outstanding views. Camping site Slapton sands was lovely lovely around the site it was always keep clean
grass was never long always cut.
staff was great.pleasent friendly, All way there to give a help in hand when needed.
Plant. flowers in and around the site was very nice indeed
    pretty flowers
very helpful thanks to all the staff it was beautiful
Although the toilet block needs to be undated to 2021 and I’ve go to mention Monday evenings is pizza nights the pizzas are wonderful I would go they every Mondays if I lived closer xx bass

  2. For people who enjoy coastal walks south Devon area of outstanding natural beauty is well worth working your way around along the coastal paths bit by bit. From towering cliffs to hidden coves with crystal clear water there is healthy marine life spotting, seals is likely.

  3. This is a beautiful place to visit. Having never been I was surprised by the number of amazing beaches and countryside. It was surprisingly quiet and really enjoyed our week here.

One thing to bear in mind is the roads. The roads here can be quite tricky. Luckily we have a small car so the lanes were not a problem. But if you have a large vehicle or caravan just be aware some of the lanes can be quite narrow.

Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere to visit in the Devon area. We all had a great week with hiking, swimming, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.

  4. We went Kayaking in this area and found a remote beach which you can only get to via sea transportation – loved the quietness, beautiful clear water and cove. Totally recommend if you can get to this destination as you have plenty to explore here such as water caves.. this quiet coves and small beaches can be accessed via Mothercombe beach or Bigbury on sea!

  5. Found this gorgeous little hidden away beach, leading onto what i beleive is an estuary. Was so quite and peaceful. When the tide is out it allows you to walk miles around to explore.

One of our favourite beaches. Dog friendly all year round and the parking doesn’t cost the earth, if you’re a National Trust member then it’s free. The cafe near the beach sells great food and is very popular but not cheap

What a cool place, well worth the visit. We dropped into Sough Molton Sands while going to a semi local Pick your own. A brief walk past the golf course and had lunch. Fantastic views, car park was full by the time we left but worth an early visit. NT Members park free.

Beautiful Natural beach and waters. The water is clear and full of wildlife. We paddle boarded around and around looking at the kelp and sea grass. Stunning! There’s places to eat and a nice size National trust car park where your greated with a smile. The beach has some sand but is mainly a really fine sort of shingle which if disabled you might struggle a bit to get up and down like my wife did and it clings to everything (it’s a beach so that’s what you get) if using a trolley the balloon type tires reccomended for sure! There is 2 roads down. I took the one which goes through Sutton with I believe the more passing places. But take it easy and please know how to reverse unlike a person we met. So I had to reverse back nearly half a mile to a passing point…. Stunning wild location and definitely worth a visit if the weather’s being kind!

Being local South Milton sands is my go too place to watch the sunset. Its a mostly sandy beach in a scenic part of the Devon coast. Parking does get full quick on a hot day so get in early and enjoy!

Favourite beach in Devon. Convenient expansive parking with a lovely cafe/restaurant overlooking the beach. Beach itself is expansive and beautiful with a soft fine pebble which is comfortable to lie on without the mess associated with sand. Water is perfectly clear and plenty of places to explore nearby on kayak/paddle board (which you can hire out on the beach itself).

Beautiful location on a sunny day! Perfect for walks along the coasts with some truly breathtaking views. Car park is available but fills up pretty quickly. This part of Devon is highly recommended to visit.

Clean and beautiful. Have to wait for tide to go out before you can sit on the beach. Parking opposite. The Winking Prawn cafe delicious and public loos.

Stunning place, this is definitely the UK equivalent to the Mediterranean if you are wanting a staycation. Make sure you visit early if you want a car parking space and visit the winking prawn for some amazing lemon cake

Lovely little dog friendly beach, with parking, toilet and cafe facilities.

    Tips:

Get there early, the car park is not big and most people stay all day.

Parking is either cash (£6.50 all day, or app) you can’t pay by card or get change from the cafe.

The two roads in are tricky, take it easy.

At high tide, there’s very little room on the beach, so check times.

It’s very shallow, so if you set up at the top of the beach, you could be quite a way from the water at low tide.

I think it was lovely if I remember actually going a few years ago in the van??

Think it’s such a fab idea to have this Google review app thingy but a tad confused about some of the content…?

Never mind, it’s not like word of mouth and contacts have ever kept your brilliance, innovation and inspiration to others alive and going in the past is it? Xx Forever thankful to you… 💕☀️

Mill Bay is such a special spot. Accessible from Salcombe via ferry or via road, using the car park nearby. Arrive early though as parking can be an issue either way. We have also seen lots of people arrive on their own water sports equipment. The bay is very child friendly and the stream to the side of the bay is sure to entertain them for a while.

Visited on a recent holiday in Devon and, despite being more than an hours drive from where we were staying, well worth it. The sea here is lovely and the beach clean and golden, so much so that it was easy to believe we had some how travelled abroad. Well worth a few hours if in the area – or even a little away from it. I would recommend parking in Salcombe and taking the foot ferry across as, while there is national trust parking a few steps from the beach, this seemed to fill up quickly and only be accessible down a number of small twisty single track roads.

Beautiful beach and a real sun trap. Gorgeous views across the water to Salcombe.

Gorgeous beach to relax on. We got the ferry across from Salcombe and hung out here for a while. Despite us only being 9 degrees or so it was really sheltered and felt a lot warmer. Some brave people were in the sea but it looked freezing!

Great beach! Not too crowded on a warm and sunny 24° day. The single track roads are very, very narrow but everyone is quite cooperative and patient in traffic which helps you get through. It takes around 45 minutes on such narrow roads, so keep that in mind. Parking gets full quickly but there’s alternative parking a mile away (20min walk) for just £5/day.

South Milton Sands is one of our family favourites. It’s a beautiful stretch of coast with soft sand and grassy dunes. The car park is a stone’s throw away so perfect for lugging all your beach gear and it’s free to National Trust members. It’s a dog friendly beach and there are lots of walks in the area. The beach is more accessible than some along narrow but manageable country lanes and the view out to see is breathtaking. Highlight is the distinctive rock which is accessible via a kayak or paddle board or, if you’re a decent swimmer you can swim out to, it’s a bridging rock with a passage to pass through which is lots of fun. There is a popular cafe at the carpark which I haven’t tried. Lots of people bring a BBQ but be prepared to be told to put it out as it isn’t encouraged sadly. Highly recommend 😃

Absolutely beautiful place. Honestly didn’t think we could find such a beautiful beach in England, glad we were proved wrong! Must visit. There’s a cafe nearby and big car park (£6 all day, national trust free).

Lovely long beach, dogs allowed, large national trust parking with toilets and cafe. Narrow lanes to drive in and out, can get busy.

Fantastic beach with national trust parking. After the beach we had some lovely food and drinks from Rose Farms new set-up. Kids having fun while we enjoyed the view. A great day/evening.

Beautiful day at South Milton Sands. Lovely clean sandy beach. Lots of space. Had a great time paddle boarding in the sheltered cove. Dog friendly. Plenty of parking in the National Trust carpark too.
