Had a lovely little stop. Reasonable parking charges £1.90 up to 4 hours.
The grandchildren enjoyed the play/Park area and the ice cream £2.50.
Be careful feeding the birds if you have young children. The noise from them was a bit scary as they all descend. The footpaths around the marine lake is flat & ideal for any accessibility needs making this a great place for everyone. Although access onto the beach is via sand dunes so not suitable for everyone.The marine lake is a nice place to stand and watch the sunset. You can get some amazing photos on the right days.
Access to the area is super easy on public transport, Waterloo station is within a 10 minute walk and there are multiple bus stops nearby too.
Very dog & family friendly.
By Amelia Robinson (9 months ago)I have wanted to visit Antony Gormly’s wonderful sculptures on Crosby beach, for such a long time but I never came up this way until this week, to look after a friend’s dogs. The installation entitled ‘Another Place’ is fabulous, magical, very thought provoking, I loved it. The statues are quite far apart. There are 100 in total. I couldn’t see all of them as I have bad back pain and can’t walk very far, but what I did see was just fantastic and well worth the wait. There are quite large car parks at either end of the beach but these fill quickly on summer days. The beach itself is approached down several steep steps and is not equipped for wheelchair users. It is sandy and great for families with young children. I don’t know how safe it is to swim there, I didn’t spot any red flags but the shallows would definitely be fine for paddling. Take a flask and sarnies, there were no nearby shops that I could see. There is a cafe somewhere, but too far from where I parked, to see it.By Helen Pitt (4 months ago)Love this coastal area. Each time you go for a walk there is always something different to see. I am so lucky to live 5 mins walk from the beach and my children live going for walks or playing on the beach.If your not from the area then I really recommend parking up and just walk and lose yourself in the beautiful scenery. There is plenty of places to park in Crosby, you will to pay and display but its not extortionate like some places are.
Please be careful if you venture onto the beaches sinking sand and sandbanks can catch even the most experienced locals and can be dangerous.
By Ian Mcbride (5 months ago)Great place to have a gentle strolls and breath in the fresh air to help you sleep better 🙂 Wonderful evening and very relaxing place, not to busy considering time of the year, always a great beach to see Antony Gormley ‘100 sculptors which are across the beach.The beach is each to walk on in most places but do be careful where it’s wet and it’s like sinking sand in parts.
Dog / Pram / wheelchair/ friendly.
Would of loved to take the drone up to capture the sunset but too many people around to do so, maybe another time.

Had a lovely walk along the beach. The beach seemed to be free of litter and there were lots of people enjoying themselves. The wind was a bit chilly but it was lovely and sunny. The statues were something different and kind of interesting. I walked back through the dunes and that too was really pleasant. Lovely beach, easy access and prom to walk on. The sculptures are wonderful. You cannot enter the water here due to sinking mud and sand so do not go with the expectation that you will be able to.
You can however have a lovely walk and see the art installation on the beach. Very dog friendly & accessible for most (parts of the promenade are blocked by sand dunes so you will have to go on the beach).
Be careful of the tides, they come in very fast.

No large defined signs explaining the hidden gullies under the sands and potential for getting pulled under 😳 Within two minutes was almost up to my waist in clay! No sign of a coastguard and managed to get pulled out by friend who was also going under. Stay on the promenade and do not walk along the waters edge is my advice! Great art attraction on the beach. There are signs around explaining what they represent and the process of putting them in. Easy to access via public transport from either Waterloo, Hall Road or Blundellsands & Crosby train stations. The beach can get busy even in winter months so plan ahead in the warmer season.
Be careful of the tides, as they seem to come in quite quickly and can come quite high (there are warning sides around that during high tides the promenade can flood). Although if you do watch the tides coming it is nice to seem them against the statues.

The beach is lovely, flat and sandy. A place place to walk along and chill for a while. Can get quite windy as so open. The statues were incredible to watch as the tide came in. I’d recommend coming at mid tide, as the water is coming in. The beach itself is wide, flat and sandy. Loads of shells to collect and very dog friendly.There is ample street parking and many reasonable car parks along the beachfront promenade.

if you really want to enjoy the dunes and the barge, then go to this place. a great beach for both the whole family and a simple stroll along the seafront. In windy weather it is possible to take a walk in the woods and enjoy the air, which is saturated with the smell of pine. your four-legged friends will love this place too
Wonderful beach, amazing dunes, shady woodland walks, acres of space for kids to run, explore, paddle and build sandcastles. Lots of rare wild creatures to keep your eye out for.
The only downside is the carpark is a bit expensive at £7.50, but it is for the whole day and as it’s National Trust the money is helping to protect this beautiful place.
First visit and despite the rather overcast day we had a brilliant time .
Large easy to find car park right up to the beach .
Beautifully clean long sandy beach backed by sand dunes and beyond the wonderful squirrel forest.
We had picnics in a sheltered spot on the sand dunes as it was very very windy
It was safe and fun to paddle in the sea and some of us collected shells. I even found a crab but no seaweed!
The sand was perfect for drawing in too.
I recommend a visit .
Such a lovely beach. With its rolling sand dunes that seem to stretch the length of the entire coast, to the endless see with sights to see. You can see Blackpool on the right in the distance and an endless line of wind turbines stretching out all the way along the Welsh coast. The beach has a rich history going back to WW2 where they buried all the rubble from the bombed homes in the dunes. There are also many forests paths to enjoy. They also have a large parking area.
Always a lovely place to spend some time walking, at any time of year. Stunning beach, pretty woodland, delightful dunes. We’d give it 5 stars; but not until we actually spot the mythical Red Squirrel. Also the National Trust really need to update either their online maps/walking routes.
