  1. We came for a half day trip, and to spend bank holiday Monday on the beach. I love the perfect pebbles of all sizes that form the beach. If you love some tranquility gazing into the waves while searching for that perfect pebble, this is your place. There are public toilets, a nice promenade, and various shops along the beach selling fresh and smoked fish. Always worth a visit, as the local deli/cheese shop and fish and chips are fabulous 👌

  2. Love the Aldeburgh area. Enjoyed Fish & Chips on the seafront watching the world go by. No good visiting here if you want kiss me quick hat’s, funfairs, amusement arcades and all the Blackpool/Great Yarmouth seaside entertainment. If you want sea views. Watch the world go by and a quaint seaside experience then this is the place. Does get very busy in main season. Plenty of parking this time of year. Could be a different story on a hot summers day.

  3. Can’t explain why this is such a magnetic place…it draws us back year after year. Maybe it’s the ice cream, maybe it’s the quaint fishing boats, maybe it’s the sound of the waves striking the pebble beach….but probably cos its a British seaside town without a games arcade or noisy people. Perfect place to relax.

  4. A beautiful place to relax, all necessary facilities are nearby. Aldeburgh is a very picturesque seaside town with many shops, bars and restaurants. There are a few car parks as well.

  5. Nice, quiet little town with one tiny road leading to it. No crowds guaranteed 😉
Privately owned fort on the beach. Old polygon with no right of entry-such a shame as there is vast area of open space behind it cut off by river. Some interesting buildings in town. Interesting happy pig fields on both sides of the road.

We had a nice walk along the beach on a very sunny cold afternoon. It’s not sandy but pebbly. Quite pretty. There’s a pier with an arcade and a restaurant. There’s a gym/sports centre. Across the road there are restaurants and hotels. There’s a lovely ice cream shop which is well worth a visit. There is more to do in the Summer

Nice mixed sand and pebble beach, with free all day parking on the prom (if you are lucky) and a proper high street up a short sharp hill. Clean and tidy with quite a selection of bars and cafés.

Lovely beach on a sunny day. Mixture of sand and shingle. Head up through the corporation gardens to the high street for cafes and coffee bars far from the madding crowd.

love love love Walberswick. Beautiful beach, amazing to swim in when it’s low tide. There are also beautiful footpaths for walks. We often go there for swim. Sometimes a seal pops its head up😊 Also beautiful sunset over reeds bed.

This beach is fab! You have sand and stoney sections, a higher section with grass amongst scattered sand pits. There are secluded area for picnics. The river entrance to the north side. The are exception Suffolk views all around the little village with an ice cream shop, coffee shop and two pubs. All small local businesses, none of the highstreet chain garbage. Worth a trip and don’t forget your crab lines!..

Lovely beach shallow water which the kids loved mixture of sand and some stones. Dog friendly. Ample parking small cabins selling crabbing gear. Which was also great. Spent hours with the kids crabbing aswel 0

Beautiful area. Did much walking to get to the Harbour Inn pub but worth it. We could have got the row boat over, £2, but enjoyed the walk up to bridge and back down. Truly a lively coast.

This beach is stunning. We parked at the car park £1 for an hour which isn’t bad at all. Had a nice walk along the beach and had a look at the groins which are now fenced off. A good 20 years ago I used to play on these as a child. Really open spaces here, nice vast landscape. The little ice cream truck in the car park sells crabbing things as well which is cute.

Walks are well marked out and of varying lengths. I did the 3 mile walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery and a tea room for refreshments with outdoor seating looking out to sea. There are walks across the heath and also access to the beach. A lovely place to go more than once to see the changing landscape and wildlife throughout the year.

We come to Dunwich heath after finishing the wood trail of RSPB Minsmere. The heath views are colorful by combining variety of plants. We encounter a pheasant family which leads by the female. The low tide brings the sand beach back. Without the lovely sound created by those little stones, the dusk view of beach is still very beautiful.

Helpful & friendly staff in visitor centre. Great map & clearly marked walks to follow around the heath. So peaceful with lots of places to sit. Lovely picnic area, playground & cafe. Easy walking access to beach

Beautiful place for walks and exploring. Not many lakes left due to draught(sad to see) hopefully we’ll get lots of rain soon, for birds sake! There weren’t many birds to see due to the above. It was good to see wild ponies in a field!Volunteers are doing a great job!

My father in law was kind enough to gift my family with National Trust Yearly passes, so as our first visit away from Flatford Mill (our closest and extremely treasured and gorgeous) National Trust site we thought we’d come to Dunwich, it’s as beautiful as it looks, with stuff for the kids to do on the walks, eg bug hunting, welly throwing. A small lay area but the picnic spot and cafe kept the kids entertained, the beach stretches as far as the eye can see. I highly recommend this place. Without the year pass it is quite pricey to park, its nice we don’t have that to care about.

Best viewed from a beach hut! The large drain emptying onto the beach near the pier was somewhat off-putting. The pier itself, though complete, is otherwise featureless. Perhaps sunshine might have helped improve the appearance of a desperately grey North Sea.

I often come here, rain hail sleet or snow. Beautiful part of the world 🌎 this ❤️ 🌊🌞🏝 there’s so many things to do here. Some of the nicest places to eat and socialise. 👍👍👍

Nice place for a walk. Few good coffee shops, amazing ice cream by the pier. Do have a bit of the sand further on the right from the pier too. Some attractions for toddlers and gaming machines for even adults. You can find free parking near by too.

We went in October and it was a lovely sunny day. We managed to find free parking on the road near the beach/promenade.
We walked along the promenade to the pier. We found 2 lots of public toilets on the way, which is a bonus. There are benches every few steps and beautiful gardens to walk through or just admire. The beach is accessible and clean. Also lots of lovely colourful beach huts along the way.
    We really enjoyed it

Lovely views. Safe place to stop over in my motorhome at the far end of the beach road nr to Fludyers hotel. Very quiet overnight. Thank you to local council for allowing it. It brings motorhomers into the town where they will spend money with local businesses. We did
