Amazing beach, we stopped here on the way back to London as we were doing a tour of rural countryside Wales. Really lovely beach, clean and very busy as would be on a weekend. The weather was perfect, the water was not too cold either! Lots to see and do here definitely a great spot for just relaxing and getting in some downtime from the usual hustle and bustle of city life.By Jas Singh (7 months ago)It’s a great family day out with lots to do that entertains kids and adults alike.
The downside being that the rides are more representative of a touring fairground and misses the feature of a signature roller coaster.
Don’t get me wrong as a tourist it was great fun and good prices.
Plenty of food and drink, great beach and the tacky seaside type shops.

The park was not too busy and only had to wait for one ride of people before it was our turn.By Matthew Elwell (7 months ago)We visited coney beach today as a group of six. Two children and four adults (nanny and grampy + family of four). It probably would of been more beneficial for us to have purchased wristbands for the kids and tokens for ourselves as we didn’t really go on many rides. My daughter was tall enough to ride with my son on most rides so it was unnecessary for us to go on with him.
It’s tricky to say if there was more here for young children or for bigger ones (😏🤪) as they catered enough for younger children to ride most rides with an accompanying adult. My son who was five managed to get onto 90% of the rides (but then he has 0 fear).
Staff were all welcoming and quite caring actually. When my son went onto the “sticky wall” the ride operator was very cautious of his size and asked after him during the ride.
The toilets were…. um… seaside toilets? Well used, a bit pongy, relatively clean but in serious need of a good once over! Both with a hammer and nails & a bottle of bleach.
Price of food etc wasn’t too steep either, given competitive prices at other theme parks and the location of the park (right on the beach front). There was the usual fun park food on offer. Burgers, hot dogs (sausage), candy floss, sweets, donuts etc.
Parking was close by, a short walk. Disabled badge holders parked for free.
It is also free entry to the park if you just want to walk around and perhaps play some games. You can opt for a token or wristband if you want to ride on attractions. Token machines are located at various parts of the park. We booked online in advance for wristbands.
The park has various opening times throughout the year. Its best to check online before you travel.

Very clean and everybody social distancing and just sitting and having fun with their own families. Police about putting parking tickets on illegally parked cars. We parked by the Church because the Church was closed. Just a short walk to the beach down Beach road from the church. The 2 pubs opposite the church are open and safe to go inside or sit outside. Great day out with my daughter. Ramp down to beach was good as we had a pushchair and a hand pulled trailer. Immediately thought of other beaches but they only had steps. This was cheaper parking. Ramp to beach. Lifeguards. Excellent beach with rock pools and a compact sand ideal for pushchairs to go right out to the sea. Made great sand castles with my daughter. Nice moist and compact sand. I wanted to swim but, on a sunny day without much wind, it was really choppy. Most people in the sea were surfers, which meant you had to watch out. I really enjoyed throwing myself about in the waves, but didn’t dare go out beyond the breakers to have a proper swim as it looked too dangerous. Porthcawl is just a short drive from Bridgend and is great for walks and the Amazing sunsets.

In my top five beaches in Wales. It never disappoints it has lovely sandy beach, rocky outcrop with rock pools, plenty of space even if it gets busy for family fun, huge area back of East part of a beach has grassed sand dunes, barbecue’s jet skiing if your lucky to own one.
Most important of all it’s always clean no rubbish or sea debre, and it’s dog friendly and have never seen discarded dog poo on beach.
Great dog friendly beach all year round from edge of Trecco Bay holiday park to Merthyr Mar. Not the best for swimming, the best sandy bits are by the rocks when the tide is out.
It is not the most picturesque beach in Wales, but it is very nice. Firstly it is huge, so it never feels crowded, even when it is and I can’t relax when the beach is busy. There’s always plenty of space, ideal for setting up volleyball net and play, which we always do. Secondly, only 40 minutes drive from Cardiff/Cearphilly area. Some people may not like the fact that it is open for dog walking and there aren’t any toilets or shops (just a little ice-cream van) but I am not bothered.
Great beach for paddle boarding and having fun. Parking £4 for all day and dog friendly
