Visited this beautiful, neat and clean beach today and we were amazed by the level of cleanliness there. Absolutely recommended for a walk/ jog or taking your dog. A lot of cafes and restaurants are there as well.

I really like this beach, very long coastline, facilities within easy reach, nice views and little litter. Good chances to see dolphins here from time to time! Many herring gulls about, as is standard for Aberdeen, but lots of other species too including guillemot and turnstones. Good for a walk or jog, always felt safe here even when alone.

Amazing place for a walk, playground for kids, close to entertainment, cafes , shops and always clean toilets at the beach 🙂

At this time of year it’s a very quiet location so the ideal place to chill out and relax. Wonderful view.

The promenade on the beach is one of my go-to places for early morning jogs, it’s perfect for taking walks and strollings. I also enjoy relaxing by the seaside, taking in the waves of the North sea, while the kids play with the sands. A little care could be given to the grasses, they’re spikey to walk on especially for little children.

This beach is an extraordinary one to go with kids to see seal and some birds. Parking area is working in progress. So we have to park in the allocated road Which is totally ok. There is no cafe and toilets any way it is the short distance from city centre. Sand dune beach full of pebbles. River is meeting the sea. So you can see the seal from some quite distance in between the river is flowing. If you have a good camera take then you can click the group of seals ?

Great beach with clean sand. Sadly only saw one seal on our visit but plenty other interesting wildlife to spot. Was also quite busy and lack of parking at present with most cars using the passing places to park leaving little room for manoeuvre..

Beautiful estuary where seals and waterfowl gather. The walk is beside a golf fairway, around dome construction (future car park) and over some dunes. Good signs keep you heading in the right direction. Keep in mind these guys are in the wild and they may not be many when you get there. It may be a good idea to ask someone coming from the beach if there are any seals. The estuary is beautiful with a couple of boats picturesquely moored. Lots of seals and birds on the other side of the water. A few seals were swimming in the middle of the estuary and came to check us out.

Love this place! Truly special! You can see and hear seals. It is incredible to watch them in their natural habitat. Beautiful dunes and silver grass.

We lucked out at this beach, parked and had to walk past some construction. Sandy walk up and down some dunes…But when we saw all those seals all in one spot it was breathtaking! We must have hit it at the right time, whatever that may be 🙂

Beautiful spot for birds and dog walking. Planning on low tide makes it easier to get along the beach? otherwise bring your Welly boots to splash through the little outlets ?

Beautiful beach and dunes. Lovely place to visit. Be careful on the wooden walk way, very uneven with wires sticking out making it a trip hazard. Two of us fell ouch?

The beach is stunning but the car park is a nightmare! We saw three cars have punctures and other problems within 15 minutes trying to get in – there are metal posts that are very unforgiving and are extremely tight for a normal car

I love the beach, it’s a great walk, beautiful scenery and generally very clean. You can walk the entire length from the Dee to the Don with a couple pathways and some seating along the route. There are no toilets past the swim/ice-rink section. There is lots of parking so unless a football game is on its easy.

A great spot for walking, running, swimming, surfing, eating, or just admiring the view on a clear day. We were lucky recently, beautifully clear and calm sea, the full moon shining in dusk reflecting off the sea. Maybe 3 or 4 dolphins popping up now and again.

    Visited here this week.
Plenty of room for Social distancing.
There is 3 levels, on the promenade before you reach the sand, there is plenty of steps, and ramps for disabled to reach the sand.
You can get a number 15 bus from the centre of Aberdeen ( Union st), and it takes you right to the sea front, takes about 15 minutes on the bus and cost £1.70 single or £4.20 for a whole day ticket…. you can also walk from the centre of Aberdeen to beach.. takes about 25 minutes… child speed.
The top level has shops like The range, Iceland, coffee shops, ice creams shops, fankies, Friday, pizza hut for food, if you take the short walk behind the cineworld, you will find aldi, home bargains, asda, pets at home to name a few shops..these are just 5 minutes from the beach on foot.
On the promenade there is a bouncy place, there is also the science centre and a small play park.
You can also reach conda amusement Park from the from and back and has good disabled access.
The beach is very sandy and not a lot of rocks, but be warned the sea is very cold.
Would recommend 100%, and will revisit again 100%

I’ve always enjoyed a trip to Balmedie beach with the family. There is ample parking, some basic facilities including a play park for the younger children. Lots of well made wooden paths taking you to various parts of the beach, and through the sand dunes. Worth taking a picnic and spending a good few hours. It’s a large area so you can always find some private space.

Only ten minutes drive from Aberdeen, and even better access via the AWPR if travelling from further south..

Nice beach with loads of soft sand to walk. Good for family or dog walks. Massive dunes of sand. Very peaceful if you want to detox yourself from the busy city life. Free parking with toilet facilities

Fantastic beach! It’s such a beautiful place and everytime I go there I am surprised that there is almost nobody there. Great place for a quick stroll or for a longer walk.

Spectacular beach with great little walks & a play park.

Loads of easy car parking and situated just 6 or so miles north of Aberdeen a Beautiful beach can be accessed across very special precious sand dune topography. Many routes through them such as tarmac, boardwalk, and horseback. Once at the beach it is soft white sand sloping to surf washed golden sand. The panorama from the beach opens up over 180 degrees with views of Aberdeen to the south, oil industry working boats in the bay, and of course the magnificent wind farm right on the the doorstep of Donald Trump’s golf resort ….. SUPERB

For any given day, this is the perfect spot .You could go with friends ,family, kids, pets, and during day or night. The beach has a warmth to itself that’s embracing. This harbour town has a lot more to offer if you are taking a day’s trip. There are options in the town for people of all ages.

Nice beach that’s a mix of stone and sand, has so interesting art work at the top of the shore, was very dog friendly

On any given day this is a beautiful beach. It is always special to watch the sea and the waves. You will not see any sand at high tide. If it is low tide then you can walk all along the front as long as you take care. These days Stonehaven is popular with surfers some have great skill. There are plenty choices for food as you walk in Stonehaven it is a special place.
