TLDR: Store owner is racist and unwelcoming. And insisted on gendering our baby.
We came in to buy some socks for our baby because the weather got chilly. The woman who owns the store asked “is it a boy or girl”, to which we responded “we’d just like socks, doesn’t matter the gender”. She then said “oh he may like these little socks with the blue boat”. We just grabbed the plain white socks instead.
My partner asked if it’s okay to nurse the baby – and the owner looked kind of upset, and told us there’s no private area to nurse and pointed to a chair in the middle of the store. There were clearly multiple private areas – so partner just went into one of the empty changing rooms and sat down to nurse the baby.
While I waited, I looked at some of the clothing in the store – there was some cute stuff – but I felt really uncomfortable because the owner/workers in the store kept watching us, and following us around the store. My partner asked them “Can I help you?” because it was so weird.
All the reviews are true. Do not shop at this store.
By Ashley Powers (3 months ago)Previous reviewers are all pretty spot on. Entered the store with my friend on a Friday afternoon. I am not African American but was almost instantly followed throughout the store. I said I was looking for a holiday dress for my daughter. After asking me several times what I was looking for, an elderly woman with a botched facelift and glasses proceeded to show me a dress. It was purple, and not my taste. She said “we have this in an 8” , and proceeded to pull it from the rack, I responded with “it’s very cute but I’m looking for something a bit more Christmasy” her response was “this isn’t Christmasy enough for you”? It wasn’t. Nor did I like the dress. Nor did I feel comfortable in the store. When I exited the store I said “thank you, have a nice day” to which none of the 3 employees responded. I have previously shopped in this store, my mom shopped for me at the previous location. However I will now avoid it at all costs! A little kindness goes along way.By Elizabeth Ozeroff (a month ago)lmaooo. do not support this business, they are 100% racist. i stopped by around christmas time and i only looked through the clothes for maybe one minute before i got uncomfortable and left. the elderly woman there, who i’m assuming is the owner, would not take her eyes off of my black behind! she didn’t even try to hide it. i just remembered this incident and decided to look up the reviews and yeah, they make sense. look at who all of their positive reviews are from. strange energy when u walk in thereBy Gia Beck (9 months ago)I can’t say enough good things about the children’s boutique! If you have a special event or even want to get a memorable item for your baby this is the shop to go to! I was given a gift as a baby shower present and the item was by far my favorite! This is we due to the fact it was so unique, so well made, and so cute for my little girl! The items in the shop range in price and you can find something for everyone! I also received a holiday outfit as a gift from this shop. Needless to say this is going in a memory box, the items were hand stitched and made the photographs I took, look professional! If you are in Philadelphia check out Children’s Boutique, you and your little one won’t be disappointed!By Victoria Meliti (a year ago)Very uncomfortable feeling walking into the store. The store is very small, yet I was followed immediately after walking in. I only entered the store because my 6 year old saw a pretty dress in the window. I will have to find something similar somewhere else because I will never step foot in there again.By Natasha Smith (8 months ago)

Anyways I get here @6:23pm & BOOM! They are closed & yet their hours clearly state they are open from 9am til 7pm on Sunday. Yea i thought thats a little late for Sunday surely I was expecting 5pm maybe 6 but hey it was just updated, I’ll go before closing so ill be in & out Ha! Jokes on me hopefully they still have my pick up tomorrow!By Tammie F. (a year ago)I luv the children’s place they have good quality clothes for our babies.By Linda Timbers (a month ago)I will never come to this store again. The personnel are so rude. I went in looking to exchange some clothes and all you see are young girls talking loud about dumb things. I said excuse me because they were in front of the clothes I need it and the one girl just rolled her eyes like almost upset because she couldn’t finish her dumb conversation with the other girl. I don’t have time for the bs. I’ll rather shop online!By Angela N. (a year ago)Worse customer service, standing in the line for half an hour but no one cares!!!!I think they feel proud of it…By Sumona Zaman (4 months ago)

This is the worst childrens place ever!!!!! It’s been several times when I attempted to go to this location to either purchase something or pick up something I already purchased and it’s signs on the door saying “closed early register down” one time I went and the associates were still in the store but the doors were locked saying they had a staffing issue so they had to close early . And it’s like a big inconvenience. Hire the people you need to . So that you can run a business im tired of wasting my gas to drive here to be turned awayBy briana costin (3 months ago)This store manager named Miss Johnson is just stupid. I was shopping in the store with my daughter. Then she came to me saying she saw my daughter putting jewelries in her shirt(my daughter was at the jewelry section). I checked and found out it was just her own little hand sanitizer bottle she likes to carry with her. I told her my daughter did not put any jewelry in her shirt and I need to speak with the store supervisor/manager, she said she’s the manager there. I asked for an apology. She said no and went to the back and never came out again. My daughter was very upset and said she would never want to go to the store again. I’m still thinking how to get the stupid manager to apologize to my daughter or get her ass fired. How could a person like her become a store manager???? ??????By Amy Kang (5 years ago)I have found where I will shop at for now on around this area. The clothes are quality and appropriate for little girls. The jeans aren’t paper thin and grown fitting like other children’s apparel I have seen around here. The staff were very helpful and the young lady that rung me out was very nice. Just wish the store was a little bit larger. But hey that doesn’t matter, I can still shop online. I found where I will continue to shop for my daughter. Thank you Children’s PlaceBy c simms (4 years ago)My poor toddler had to go potty and when I asked the girl if she could use the bathroom, she told me they do not have a bathroom. While my daughter had an accident in the store the girl looked at me and laughed. If this is a children’s store then they need to make it bathroom accessible since children, especially toddlers cannot hold it. I spend a lot of money at Children’s Place to be treated this way. My daughter certainly doesn’t need to be made fun of for having an accident in a store that doesn’t allow bathroom usage.By Kimberly Birmingham (3 years ago)Slow customer service. Other then that had what I was looking for..By Niccarra Milbourne (2 months ago)

Hannah was amazing. Ww will definitely be back for such great customer service skills. The young man working there was really nice and helpful as well!By Monica Santiago (a year ago)Kayla was rude I had return And wanted to place a online order for a different size in my pick up order She didn’t finish the online order she asked me to wait while she took another customer Than I wait and waited some more She dismissed me I had to go to another register after she took again another customer in her line She completely ignored me took other people in line While I just waited on the sideBy N (2 months ago)Returned some too small items on Sunday 11/7/21 at 11am and the clerk was rude. The clerks were busy with something behind the counter so I moved a few steps away to see if I could find larger sizes so that I could exchange instead of return. The clerk(she/her) made a snide remark that if she moved away from the counter she’d be wrong, I suppose because she ended up having to wait a few seconds for me she was annoyed. I chose to return everything even though initially I only wanted to send back two items but heck, if your going to be rude and impatient over a few seconds instead of letting a customer know you’re now available, I will always take my business elsewhere.By LarisaNichole C. (a year ago)People who work here needs to be fired!! They are rude, unprofessional and makes fun of you if you have any coupons. I had 5$ reward and when I told the manager I have 5$, she said you can only use it on 25$ and above purchase and then said something to her coworkers and they all laughed. WTF!
I didn’t said anything at that time but when I checked online for the details there was not any condition* on the rewards I had. The supervisor needs to look into this and fire them asap if they want this business running.By sneha verma (3 years ago)This location deserves zero stars. I greeted both associates and both mumbled a “hi”. No help was offered by either associate when I was directed to sort through a pile of shoes in a tote. I was left rummaging for sizes for 5 minutes. I know they don’t get paid commission but at least pretend you like your job.By Saanai Sabree (3 years ago)

The Children’s Place Preschool is an excellent school for my twin daughters, they turned 5yrs old in October, so this is their second year, the staff is excellent, the building is clean, safe, and looks good throughout. The learning program of the school is excellent, the activities, trips and communication with the staff, whom is always reachable is excellent, I really appreciate this school.
This place is wonderful. The people who work there are polite, loving, caring and always willing to help. My 11-month-old daughter loves going to daycare and is always happy and smiling. In 3 months she started going to daycare she learned so many things and is so independent, all because of their care for my daughter. It was the best choice I made.
Since the school tour during the pandemic the staff has been pleasantly amazing to my daughter. They looks after her during her tenure there as if she’s their child. I’m forever appreciative to the staff in caring for her. She has graduated and still attends for aftercare. Staff amazing
My daughter attends this school and loves it! She is 4 yrs old and i felt like she was talking a little late but after a few days here she was talking alot, lots of new words! The staff are very nice, i can always reach out to them if need be. They assure me they are a peanut free center being my daughter has allergies so that makes me feels super comfortable. My child wakes up excited to go to school each day, thanks for all you do 🙂
My oldest graduated from pre-k here last year and my daughter will graduate this year. The teachers here are always kind and keep you up to date with your children! They are in constant communication through their app and upload pics and videos on there to keep you in the know of the curriculum. Not to mention the facility itself is very clean.👌They also always have something fun going on for the children. Looking forward to signing up my youngest for next year!
