  1. This was such a great dining experience! Very nice ambiance. All employees were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which was great. Had a varied wine selection, and they give you tons of extras. They start you off with fresh bruschetta which is delicious, plus you get their soup which was definitelt freshly made as it tasted just like my italian family’s home cooked broth, and a salad. They had rack of lamb as a special, generous portion plus you get pasta with it. The lobster ravioli with shrimp and crab is fantastic so if you love seafood this is a no brainer! Tiramisu was fresh and out of this world. The profiteroles were also very tasty with the drizzle on top.

  2. So far the best restaurant that I’ve visited in Myrtle beach! Also the best price/quality ratio!
For $127(party of 3, 1 bottle of wine, before tip) we got a course of complementary appetizer, bread, soup&house salad. The main course was brought right after we were done with the salad, there was no unnecessary wait. I appreciate the servers, they are very polite and attentive, totally worth leaving a 25%tip, (unlike in some other local places that I’ve visited here).
I’ve got a daily special, Atlantic flounder stuffed with seafood, it was served with freshly made pasta and tomato sauce, all tasted delicious. One of my party members got rack of lamb, we all agreed that those ribs were the best ribs we’ve tried in a long time. The cooks do an amazing job!
I’ll be back before the end of my vacation, so glad I’ve discovered this restaurant!

  3. Great food! The red sauce is the best that my fiancé has ever had! We came here two years ago on vacation and knew we had to come back while we were here on vacation again. We had the meatballs with fresh mozzarella, mild sausage and peppers, trio parmigiana, Calabrian sausage ravioli and a cannoli. Everything is seasoned so perfectly and tastes amazing. The customer service by Samantha was the best we have had on our vacation! Samantha was attentive and very friendly!

  4. Most delicious authentic Italian restaurant!

Our server was Timothy and he was the best. Very attentive to our needs and very informative about the restaurant’s history/background. The dessert was also very good. We got the ice vanilla ice cream, tiramisu, and the cookies & cream cheesecake. The main course wasn’t on the menu but I pulled up a picture from a previous review and they were able to make it with any sauce of my choice, I went with white wine. SO GOOD!! Might seem pricey but it’s not and you definitely get your money’s worth. We got bruschetta, bread with marinara for dipping, soup, salad, main course (your choice), and dessert (extra, optional)

  5. One of the best restaurants at Myrtle Beach. Great price for the amount of food served. Recently visited with 2 kids, ages 4 and 2, and the staff could not have made them feel more special. Live music and the musician even played them a special song and let them play the accordion.

    Always excellent Austrian food
The bread is perfection, hot crispy outside soft tender inside. We’re tried all the offerings… delicious! Nellie at the bar is outstanding and fast! We had the pork cordon blue and sausage sampler. It could not have been better. The dessert offerings are perfection… leave room for dessert! Live music too, it’s no wonder reservations are needed.

Stopped here Wed Oct 8th at 6pm.
Place was very busy with many patrons having reservations. We did not have a reservation but got seated quickly.
Food was excellent! Our server was extremely busy but attentive.
    Save room for dessert.

What an experience! Great, knowledge service. The server helped with food recommendations, especially for gluten-free food. They are busy so definitely make a reservation. We lucked out because we went early. There’s outdoor seating. Get the mousse, you’ll thank me later.

This is an authentic German establishment. The food is very German. My wife loves this place mostly because of the Chicken Cordon Blue! I am big fan of the German Larger on tap and the Don Juan coffee. I am not a big fan of the food but that is because I am not big on German food. If you are, you will like the food. The place is a pretty dated for my taste, definitely not a contemporary atmosphere. The service is very good and the restaurant is well managed. When you see management on the floor you know they are putting more effort into customer service. Reservations would be easier if they would get on Open Table. Overall its a place I definitely recommend especially for adults. I give it four stars because its dated for my taste and I am not a big fan of German food. I recommend you try it and see how you like it. If you are from out of town its a unique experience not you regular national chain experience.

Check operation times on line and call ahead with your reservation. They have a popular happy hour 4- 7 with a variety of domestic and imported beers with a fun snack/munchies menu. From sausage bites to schnitzel bites. Dinner menu was difficult to choose as everything sounded so yummy. Schnitzel, so many different ways, sausages many kinds with sides of your choosing. There are also entres that have all your choices made for you in perfect combinations. Leave a little room for dessert. We ordered the streusel. Apples, raisins and cinnamon wrapped in a full dough. We sat ouside, under a canopy but the place to be was inside! Our waitress, very pleasant, forgot about us a couple of times. She was too occupied inside, I guess. Food is authentic and delicious. Lecker!

We had a dinner reservation for 8 people. They sat us at a round table (my favorite, for being able to talk to my entire group and everyone feeling included), Tristan was our server. He came with energy and knowledge and while busy with multiple large groups no detail was missed! Our food came out in the proper stages for wine, appetizers, salads, entrees and even the homemade desserts made it to our table before we called it a night. Everything was cooked to perfection! Tristan’s service was excellent!! We had every type of food at our table and everyone raved about their choices. Hefty portions ensured a lot of leftovers. I almost missed taking some photos because we were too busy enjoying how delicious everything was! The photos are dark, due to low lighting for the evening, but you get the gist. It was about the company, the experience, and the delicious food! If you’re looking for real Italian with that eating at home quality, you must try Luigi’s!!! Best Italian in Myrtle Beach! We will be back again next work trip out there. Thank you for raising our expectations to new heights.

Great service, nice Early Bird menu, hot loaf of bread, booths and tables available. Great pasta & meat sauce. Hubby enjoyed the mussels. Nice wine list. Music was subtle in the background Highly recommended

Food was delicious, definitely the best lasagna I’ve ever had.. but there was a piece of hair in my food. I quietly brought it to the waitresses attention and her response was “I don’t see it, what do you want me to do”. Wasn’t very nice, no apology or anything. I get it, it’s not her fault but the response I got wasn’t very polite. I guess she was having a bad day but that isn’t a excuse to treat customers like that in my opinion.

Definitely one of our go places for great Italian. We love the early bird specials from 4 to 6pm and the quality of the food. Excellent service from our waiter Phil, great sweet tea, fresh baked bread with oil and herbs, excellent fish and Calamari appetizer. My wife created her new favorite by ordering the Salmon Mediterranean and having it on a vegetable medley instead of pasta. Was flavorful and filling. Portions are generous and we always have left overs. I have really started to like the gorgonzola salad. Bring your appetite.

First off Tyler, she was ?, she was amazing in every way including treating our puppy that joined us. Yes dog friendly outdoor seating ❤️. The food was amazing, some of the best Italian food I’ve had in many years. I only took one photo but we had Calamari and the white muscles as apps. Both were perfect. The seafood trio special and pork ossobuco special. Absolutely fantastic. The portions were between just right and call an Uber because I can’t move. I’m willing to bet the rest of the menu is equally amazing. Surprisingly they didn’t pop up as dog friendly but they will definitely accommodate your well behaved pup outside. Can’t wait to visit again.

Highly recommended. The food is fantastic. Service is superb. We tried the ribeye steak and the seafood pasta. The steak was cooked at the perfect temperature and the seafood servings were generous. We also tried the lemon cake for dessert. Very good indeed.

Very friendly and polite staff. It’s a small, cozy, romantic place. My husband and I came here for a nice dinner. Definitely one of the best restaurants we had while visiting MB. I had the salmon and he had the duck breast. Both were absolutely delicious!

First off, we were there an hour earlier than our reservation. We sat at the bar for a drink before being seated. Waitress was awesome and super friendly! Gave us bread(shown) as a starter and kept our glasses full! Then, when it was time, she took us to our seats and gave us plenty of time to review menu. We ordered Snapper(shown) and it was absolutely amazing! Their Tiramisu is made in house and it’s incredible! Definitely a place to go. Small, quiet, and romantic. Staff are super polite and professional!

Wow! Absolutely delicious! This was more than just a great meal, it was great experience. The ambiance and attention to detail was incredible as was the service. I can’t recommend Hook & Barrel strongly enough. The swordfish was perfectly done with a cauliflower puree and roasted cauliflower that complemented it perfectly. Our non-seafood eater had the roasted chicken which was also delicious. For dessert, the Baked Alaska was to die for. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice atmosphere, solid service, plating is beautiful. Kim made us feel very welcomed and was attentive without being over bearing. I tried the short run as I’m not a huge seafood person, it was solid. Added the Mac abs that was incredible. Also try the Carolina Lemonade, it’s quite good! The other guest enjoyed their dishes a great deal as well, chicken and blacken salmon were both hits. However if you are celebrating something, come here the adorable cake they offered for my parents Anniversary was fantastic

This was one of THE best dinners I’ve had in a long time. The restaurant is beautiful, the ambiance is unique and elegant, the food is absolutely delicious, and the service is amazing! Our server was Henry and he was impeccable. Very knowledgeable and made our experience all the more fabulous. The hosts, other servers, and floor managers were also friendly and helpful throughout the night. Our drinks and plates of food were picture worthy, and tasted even better! Perfect for family, business, or a date night. I cannot wait to go back.

Best restaurant during my short trip here in Myrtle Beach. Packed on a Monday night, but fortunately only had to wait about 25 mins for 3 seats at the bar, which you do have to put your name in for. Loved everything from the drinks, apps, entrees to dessert! Trout special was best fish entree I can remember having… Tender fresh and flavorful with a delicious lemon butter sauce. My pic is of just half portion of the trout that I split with someone. Both raw and baked oysters were amazing as well. Fish bites were also fresh hot and tender with tasty sauces to enjoy with. Would definitely come back if in the area again!

What a wonderful place to enjoy a birthday dinner. Bright, wide open and airy ambiance. Walk in the doors and you are greeted with the aroma of their bourbon bacon appetizer. We were seated towards the back in a cozy table/booth area. Great place to people watch. Kim was our server. She is very pleasant, friendly, personable and menu knowledgeable. When she discovered my wife’s shellfish allergy she immediately stopped the order and switched with no fuss. Her recommendations from cocktails, to appetizers, main course and dessert were spot on. Highly recommend Hook & Barrel!
