  1. Great place for a family day out. It caters for all ages for rides and attractions. Very well priced on the rides. The amusements are great and they even have a guarantee win claw game.

  2. Excellent day out, me and the family had an excellent time going on the different fair ground rides. Fast food wasn’t bad, plenty of places to top up your fairground cards which you need to pay with, however you do get a better deal using the mobile app. The rides are different prices and a few are a ridiculous price (inflatable balls) which cost £5ea and they were on for no more than 5 mins. The beach was fun and clean and their is a park across the road which we didn’t visit but I seen they had swan boats and other activities when driving past. The only thing I’d suggest is updating the payment meters in the car park as it’s cash only.

  3. This is a really great place for a fun day out although as you are paying in credits it can be very expensive. Me and another carer took a young girl (with autism) here as she loves rides, we did get one free carer wristband to allow one person to ride with her for free. All of the staff were great and very understanding of any additional needs. There were many places to eat and again as long as I purchased something to eat we were allowed to let our client eat her packed lunch on the premises.

    A great day out!

  4. Good fun of the fair for the kids.
Traditional Seaside arcades and attractions with rides for kids of all ages.
Friday night rides are half price so good value.

Note the ferris wheel is not part of Ocean Beach and need to be paid separately..

  5. Went for the firework display with some friends and our little ones and it never disappoints! Been to the Shields fireworks for the last 2 years and can honestly say it’ll probably be the main one I attend in the future too. Free display, so much parking, you can always make a night out of it and go on the rides/in the arcades as well. Lots of people having little fires on the beach as well, just really has that nice community feel about it on bonfire weekend!

Also have been to Ocean Beach multiple times in the past and have always had fun, so even if you’re looking for somewhere different for a day out to enjoy yourself, would definitely recommend. Lots to do, lots of places to eat and the beach is right there to have a nice walk down.

It was a nice and refreshing spot for quiet time, picnics and family hangout.
With cool sit outs, fish and chips spot, coffee spot, ice cream and lots of goodies.
It’s a dog friendly environment, very accessible for disabled people and veterans.

Lots Families and friends having a cool time by the beach. Children running and playing joyfully. Adults are having a good chatting time and laughing out loud. Dogs barking and chasing here and there.

The breeze from the beach was so cold even in the sun. it was fun place to be.

    I had a good time

Sand, sea, pebbles, and the odd piece of Sea glass. Just a delight to walk along, especially if the tide is out. Great fun for everyone during the summer months so long as you don’t have a dog to walk as there are restrictions in place. Dogs welcome on the beach from October onwards.

A beautiful beach, lovely flat golden sands. Great for children, families, couples…. well, anyone really. Lots of people had dogs. Only downside is the steep access to the beach if you have mobility issues.

Parking is nearby which is £3 all day.
There is a cafe/toilets at the beach.
Great for amazing photos if you’re a photographer.

Car parking is awkward but cheap. The beach is stunning. Really clean, more so than our local Lincolnshire beaches

The northern end of the award winning Long Sands beach is a stunning stretch of golden sand, backed by low dunes.  In summer it is one of the most popular spots on the North East coast. People come from far and wide to build sand castles, sunbathe or splash about in the clean waters.

It is also one of the areas best surfing beaches. The powerful waves here have made it a popular destination for surfing, and the national surfing championships have been held here. You can get your surfing lessons here and stop of for refreshments overlooking the beach at the surfers bar.

Adjacent to the beach, on the other side of Grand Parade is Tynemouth Park, a family fun park, with a boating lake, crazy golf and themed children’s play areas.  The Blue Reef Aquarium, also nearby, has a good variety of interesting sea-life.  Whatever time of year you come here, there’ll be lots to keep children entertained.

Love this place, great for rock-pooling as the crabs here are very large and usually not dead.

It’s lovely to watch the sun go down or have a dip in the sea.

As a seaside lover I’ve discovered a new place to visit and it was such a beautiful spot. It was such a lovely day out for the kids and adults. We’ve enjoyed climbing some rocks and walk around.

There was a restaurant near by the Marsden Rock with a car park which we walked to and finished our walk there. There’s also Lighthouse nearby to see and it’s also lovely place to visit.

Quite stunning, you can just spend hours there; fact that there’s a café with a story adds to the experience.

The most beautiful and most certainly unique beach in Newcastle as far as I’m concerned.

Great views and lots of fauna. Ideal for walks or runs.

Most importantly, be prepared for swarms of seagulls sitting and “shouting” on a cliff side. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many in one place in my entire life! They mind their own business so long as you don’t harass them.

    Must visit if you’re nearby!

Such a lovely place for a walk. Beautiful scenery with the grassy Leas, the cliffs and the beach. Grab a drink and some food at the Grotto. A regular place to walk our two dogs.
