It’s located 45/57 Massey Bamgboshe Street, Lagos Island. It’s a very polished place, a historical landmark and a ceremonial ground. TBS Brt terminal is directly in front. Lagos food bank held a walkathon here.By ammy (6 months ago)Great place, very large space for events. Went there for the Experience and it was wonderful. Security was great and food was easy to getBy Iyasele Deborah (3 months ago)Nigeria had its independence at this venue on October 1, 1960. It still holds big events notably the Lagos International Trade Fair. You can also get buses to different parts of Lagos from there.By Abdulkabir Olatunji (4 months ago)The landscape complemented our aesthetic approach to the walkabout. I and my babe achieved spontaneity with the landscape. It was simply all about the landscape for us and our picture-perfect pairing. Muri Okunola park is a free park to hangout with friends and family. It is an open outdoor space where one can have open events. You can have any event as long as you are comfortable with the environment. It does not have parking space and is an open place without covering or canopy.
This park has lots of dust(areas without paving stones) so it would be nice to wear dust friendly shoes and dresses(note: it could be as a result of the harmattan). It has no parking space, few unmovable chairs and no tables.
You can come here for picnic and small events. Make sure to come with your stuff because there are no shops around to buy anything. The area is moderately taken care of.
Have a beautiful Christmas Celebration and happy new year in advance 😘.
By Udison Mercy (2 months ago)One of the several parks in Lagos State, this is also one of the biggest parks we have and oftentimes people host events here for its spacious capacity and scenery.
Weddings, Festival, Fashion Events, Themed parties and the likes are activities you can find happening here. It’s almost always bubbly throughout the year.My last visit was in December 2021 for the Ofada day. Lots to eat and drink and so much fun too.
Celebrities graced the day and different food and drinks brands were present too.
Looking for a nice place to just chill or hangout with friends, Muri Okunola is a nice destination if you’re in Lagos, especially on island.
Ensure to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols if visiting.By Erimoroti Motolani Aransiola (a year ago)A great park for events. If you are having an event here ensure you visit and analyze before use.
There are 2 entrance gates but one will be used on the day of the event.
Payment of the park is made in the bank and you should have a tax payer ID when making payments.
There is also payment for setup so ensure you ask them before making total payments. You are required to have safety measures in place.
Before payments also have a floor plan ready for your events
By Chibuzo Ihentuge-Eric (2 months ago)A serene atmosphere to relax and have fun with your loved ones, especially the movie in the park monthly editions, a caveat though, you should go with your food and water, and don’t expect to win giveaways it’s always a in-house thingy.By Samuel Damilare (10 months ago)It’s a beautiful park located at V. I. If you’re coming from obalende, cms or ajah, just stop at law school bustop am walk in the street after the bustop. It’s a cool spot to hangout with friends and family, host concerts, picnics etc. There’s no gate fee to enter the park. 5 Replies to What to Do in Lagos – 7 Amazing Activities for Families!
I had a wonderful time here. From the entrance I knew I was in for a thrilling experience. The canopy walk was perfect blend of excitement and anxiety for me. Then climbing the tree house was another intriguing adventure.
The highlight for me was seeing the life tortoise.
I have been here thrice and it was nice. The environment is serene with a lot of monkeys. There is a peacock and tortoise that is always wandering around. The canopy walk is always fun because you will always meet different types of people on it; the ones that thought they are brave until they discovered they have fear of height, the cheerleaders, the indifferent. I recommend going there on a weekend around 11-12pm, when you will have just the right amount of people around, everywhere starts to get a bit over crowded from around 2pm.
I really enjoyed the canopy walk, although it is not for the faint of heart. Asides the staff at some points of the canopy, I barely saw any other ones throughout the tour. The lady that took us on the tour before the walk, was very nonchalant and was probably tired and also didn’t say much. It’s best to go here in a group in order to fully enjoy yourself.
This is a wild life conservation centre where you can feel and experience nature at it’s purest form. You take a walk through the forest to get to the family park where there is a big field with restaurants and games for children and adults. The family park is a great place to go for picnics, birthdays and other outings.
There are 3 ways to get to the family park; through (1) Nature walk (2) Canopy walk (3) Motor way. About 2km distance and about 30 minutes canopy walk and 15 minutes nature walk. The entrance to begin nature and canopy walk is same except that the nature walk branched to the left while canopy walk is straight ahead and a you require separate tickets for both.
The Nature walk is more convenient for those scared of heights cos you’ll be walking on a plank walkway through the forest to the family park and you’ll feel jungle and see as many monkeys as possible 😉… The monkeys look harmless; don’t try to feed or scare them.
The Canopy walk is adventurous and fun especially for those that aren’t scared of heights. There are 6 stopping/resting points along the path and the first 4 sections are in ascending order with the last 3 are in descending order before getting to the end of the canopy. At the end, you’ll have to proceed to the family park on the plank walkway ahead (don’t branch), the branch on the right leads back to the main gate (Exit).
The Motor way is a motorable road to get the the family park. It’s convenient for those who came with food items and also those who don’t want to exit through the forest.
It’s adventurous & fun and the games available are quite interesting too.
Beautiful nature reserve. I didn’t go on the walk across the canopy because I am afraid of heights. I also had food from an area where there were several food vendors. Food was delicious. Beware of the monkeys. They may snatch food from your hand or plate
